He was born on November 27, 1951, to the late Harold and Evelyn (Samson) Waugh. Don was in the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. His hobbies included, wood working, photography and poetry. Don was predeceased by his sister, Sondra Lynn Waugh; two brothers, Thomas and Roland "Ron" Waugh. He is survived by his wife, Brenda (McConnell) Waugh; sons, Jesse (Anne), and Don Jr. (Kelsey); daughters, Sondra (Chris) Waugh and Penny Wilbur; stepson, Matthew Moot; stepdaughters, Christina, and Renee Moot; sisters, Diana (waugh) Hobby, and Gloria (Waugh) Johnston; brothers, Denny (Deb) Waugh, Kevin (Sue) Waugh, Dave (Heather) Waugh, and Lennie; grandchildren, Brandon, Evan, Kaylee, Zack, Morgan, Cameron Waugh, and Sabrina Fredenburg; step-grandchildren, Carina (Cody) Miesch, Owen, Evan, and Davin Philbin; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was formerly married to Carleen (Newton) Bivens, the mother of his children. Don was a very a very loving, husband, father, grandfather, step-dad, step-grandfather that loved his family very much. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. As per Don's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Nelson, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maurice Gurnett, Richland, about 11:30 Monday night, January 18 from infirmities of old age. Mrs. Nelson was one of the oldest residents of this part of the county and passed most of her long and useful life in Richland. Her last illness was of seven weeks duration. Mrs. Nelson was the daughter of Enos R. and Abigail Cook Hill and was born in the Town of Sandy Creek, March 7, 1842. She married Mr. Nelson in Richland December 20, 1866. Her husband was a well-known and capable carpenter and for many, years did much of the home and business building in this vicinity. He died December 3, 1904. Mrs. Nelson had made her home with her daughter since that time. She was a member of the Pulaski Grange and a former member of the Pulaski Congregational church. Surviving besides her daughter, are one sister, Mrs. Alice Beals; a brother, Clayton Hill; a niece, Mrs. Hugh Whitney, all of Pulaski, and two nephews, Harold Hill of Buffalo and Enos Hill of this village. The funeral was held at the daughter's home Thursday afternoon, Rev. Alfred W. Budd, of the Pulaski Congregational church, officiating, with burial in Richland cemetery. She experienced a severe pain in the region of her heart and as Dr. Nelson had called to leave her medicine, which she had been taking for several months, she received the best possible attention but in a short time she died. She leaves her husband and two sons, aged seven and three. She was a bright, intelligent woman, about thirty-one years of age. Her funeral was held at her home on East Main street, Monday afternoon. Salisbury - Mrs. Frances Stacy Salisbury, 77, widow of Benjamin Dewey Salisbury, died at 8:30 o'clock Saturday morning at her home in Park street, Pulaski. She had been ill for a number of years, but her condition did not take a critical turn until shortly before her death. Mrs. Salisbury, whose maiden name was Frances Stacy, was a native of Oswego county. She was born January 16, 1848, at New Haven, but had lived in Pulaski ever since the time of her marriage, nearly 60 years ago. Her husband was a native of the village, of which his family were old residents, and he lived in Pulaski up to the time of his death, some 25 years ago. Mrs. Salisbury had been an active member of the Pulaski Congregational church for many years. Mr. and Mrs. John Mellor, of Syracuse, the latter a niece of Mrs. Salisbury, and Charles Allen of Oswego, a nephew, came to Pulaski Saturday afternoon, called by the news of the death. Of the members of her husband's family, Mrs. Ida S. Craig, now of Rochester, and Mrs. James A. Morris, of Thousand Island Park, sisters-in-law, and John N. Mrs. Zufelt, a retired teacher, was a life resident of the towns of Richland and Sandy Creek. Born Aug. 21, 1901, at Port Ontario, daughter of Henry and Harriet Brown Price, she graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1919 and Albany State Teachers College in 1925. She was a descendant of Col. Rufus Price of Connecticut, a soldier in the Continental Army of the Revolutionary War, who settled in the Port Ontario area in the early 1800s. She also was a descendant of Benjamin Winch, the first settler of Pulaski. She married Lewis Zufelt on Dec. 26, 1927, in Pulaski. The couple operated the Zufelt family farm on Route 3 near Sandy Pond from 1938 to 1964. Mr. Zufelt died Dec. 19, 1969. Mrs. Zufelt taught high school in Belleville, Adams and Shortsville and was a librarian at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School, Parish, retiring in 1966. She was a member of Ontario Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution; Pulaski Grange 730, Pulaski Civic Club and Pulaski Historical Society and made numerous contributions to the preservation of local history. She also was a member of Pulaski Congregational Church and a volunteer for the Pulaski Senior Center and Pulaski Middle School. Surviving are a son, John B., Bristol, R.I.; a daughter, Eleanor P. Trendell, Pulaski, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Two sons died before her, William W. on July 21, 1994, and Thomas B. on Dec. 27, 1996. Newspaper Obituary - October 11, 1916 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Frank Tilkins Dies At Age Of 90 - Frank Tilkins, one of the oldest residents of this town, died at the home of his son-in-law, John Ivens, in Daysville, last Thursday morning, at the ripe age of 90. He was stricken a few days before with pneumonia, and also suffered from a stroke, but up to that time had enjoyed good health, and was unusually active for one so advanced in years. Mr. Tilkins was born in this town February 28, 1826, and had always lived in this community. For some time in his younger years, he was a sailor on the Great Lakes. He was a civil war veteran and a member of the J. B. Butler Post, G. A. R. No. 111. He is survived by a son, John Tilkins of Port Ontario, and four daughters, Mrs. James Mitchell, Port Ontario, Mrs. John Ivens, Daysville, Mrs. Ransom Tanner, Parish, and Mrs. William Martin, Oswego. The funeral services were held in the Methodist church last Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. F. O. Dexter officiated. Burial was at the Daysville cemetery.
