DURHAMVILLE - G. Warren Clemens, 70, of 6605 Jug Point Road, died Thursday Morning, June 5, 2014, in Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford.

Warren was born on July 26, 1943, in Oneida, the son of Grant W. and Alice E. Davis Clemens. A lifelong resident of the area, he attended a one room school house in Osceola in his elementary years and was a graduate of Oneida High School.

In 1993, he retired after 30 years of owning and operating Clemens Carnival Rides which he operated at area events and field days.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Verona and a member of the New London - Vienna Masonic Lodge #420 F & AM.

Surviving are two brothers and sister-in-laws, Davis and Paula Clemens and Noel and Mary Clemens, both of Camden; four grandchildren, Renee Morey, Amanda Smith, Steven Finch and Carl Finch; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Warren was pre-deceased by three daughters Candace L. Finch on January 18, 1997, Dawn M. Morey on November 10, 2001, and Melissa Joy Clemens on April 29, 1999, his former wife Janice Althouse Clemens in December 2011.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, at 6:00 p.m. where the Rev. Katie Yahns will officiate. Interment will take place in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Verona. Family and friends are invited and may call on Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Church, 4897 Old Oneida Rd., Verona.

10454 Gaetano "Guy" Piraino of Liverpool passed away at the age of 77. He was born in Spadafora, Italy and came to America in November, 1954. Guy previously worked at Syracuse Tank and Manufacturing Company.
He was well known for playing, coaching and refereeing soccer for many years. Guy also loved to fish any time of year; although the love for his grandchild surpassed everything.
He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Rosina (Aloi) Piraino and his sister-in-law, Connie Piraino.
Guy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan (Bailey) Piraino; his daughter, Rose Christine Piraino; sons, Anthony (Katie) Piraino and Thomas (Sandy) Piraino; grandchildren, Sarah, Maiah, Emma, Michael and Hannah; his siblings, John Piraino, Carmella (Alex) Mancini and James (Pam) Piraino, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Guy's life at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.

Joanne M. Gaffney, 56, a 35-year resident of Richland, died Tuesday at Samaritan Medical Center. Joanne was born February 18, 1953 in Syracuse. She graduated from North Syracuse High School. Joanne married Michael Gaffney on December 14, 1972.

Gail June Garvin, 79 formerly of Pulaski, passed away peacefully September 18, 2024 after a long illness. Gail was born on December 7, 1944 in Syracuse, NY to Ralph and Naomi Baird Gransden. Gail was a young mother that worked hard to take care of her family by having a garden, canning, and sewing. The family owned and operated the small country stores in both Ricard and Orwell in the 1970s. Gail went on to be a bus driver for Sandy Creek School District for several years and then retired from the Department of Social Services. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and making meals for her neighbors. She was a past member of the Orwell Fire Department’s auxiliary. Surviving are her children: Shawn & Renee Garvin, Dawn & Wayne Lawrence, and Mark & Meghan Garvin; Her grandchildren: Rheanna Mitchell (Robert Schirm), Rheesa Rood (Robert Strong), Shannon & Ben Fisher, Mitchell Garvin, and Michael Garvin; two great-grandsons, and a great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Bruce & Connie Gransden and many nieces & nephews. The family wants to thank her friends at Springbrook Apartments and all those that cared for her along the way. Formerly of Auburn: Mary Ann Gardner, 86, formerly of Auburn, passed away peacefully at her home in Owego on Nov. 11, 2011. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Kenneth H. Gardner and her daughter and son-in-law, Carrie (Gardner) and James Tornatore. Also surviving are her step grandchildren, Amy Burch and Beth Tornatore, step great-grandchildren, Mason and Cameron Burch, sister-in-law, Kate Potter, several nieces and nephews and her very dear best friend, Laura Conley. Mary was born in Richland, NY on May 24, 1925 a daughter of the late Glenn and Marjorie (Dack) Potter. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Albert Potter and Betsey Ukolowicz. Mary was the Salutatorian of her graduating class at Union Springs High School and a talented artist. During WW 2, she was employed by American Locomotive as a mechanical drawer. She was also an avid reader (especially of stories related to cats) and enjoyed many craft projects and quilting. Family services will be private. In deference to her love of all animals, friends who wish to honor Mary with a donation are asked to kindly consider the Animal Care Council, 131 Washington Ave., Endicott, NY 13760, in her memory. Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, February 8, 1922 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Garry H. Tift was born May 27, 1853 at Selkirk, where he passed the greater part of his life. He had been sick with heart trouble for about two weeks and was apparently getting better. Friday afternoon he was suddenly taken worse and passed quietly away January 30th. He was a fisherman and for several years past conducted a grocery store at Selkirk. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Weed and Mrs. A. E. Allport; also one nephew, John W. Allport and two nieces, Mrs. Clifford Sherman and Mrs. Walter Sherman. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon. The I. O. O. Gary Allan Dupont, 37, of 3084 County Route 2, died of complications of pneumonia Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Syracuse.

Mr. Dupont had been employed by the Rite Aid distribution center in Rome for the last two years and previously had been employed by Mandigo Farm for 10 years.

He lived in Altmar and Orwell before moving to Pulaski in 1989.

Born April 20, 1964, in Oswego, son of Kenneth and Sharon Trumble Dupont, he graduated from Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School in 1982.

Surviving are his companion, Margret Skellington; his mother, now Sharon A. Sampson, Altmar; his father, of Camden; two brothers, Kenneth and Ronald, both of Altmar; two sisters, Tina Thurston, Altmar, and Tammy Henry, Orwell, and five stepbrothers, Kenneth, Glenn and Frank Sampson, all of Ogdensburg, Scott Sampson, Williamstown, and Mark Sampson, Altmar.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home with the Rev. Leo Sidman officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar.

UTICA - Mr. Gary Anthony Ching, 63, of Utica, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.
Gary was born in Utica on February 28, 1954, the son of Alexander and Beverly (Marmon) Ching and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. For many years, Gary was a self-employed carpenter in the Utica area. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his love of children and animals and for being a great cook.
Mr. Ching is survived by one sister, Mary Ching, of Utica; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Alexander and Stella Ching, of NC and Louis Ching, of Utica; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Ching's funeral and burial, entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica, will be held at the convenience of the family.

He is survived by brother Darrel "Bill" (Pauline) of Mesa, Arizona and sister Lola (La Verne) Nelson of Harrison, Arkansas and sister-in-law Evelyn. Also by his children Kurtis Bauman of Effingham, Illinois and Teresa Leahy of Deerfield, IL.

As a young man he worked as a machinist in Illinois at Caterpillar Tractor Company and Chrysler Corporation. He retired in Kingman, Arizona.

Gary was born January 6, 1954 in Oswego, NY to Frederick L and Bertha A (Stewart) Moyer. He attended Sandy Creek High School. After High school Gary entered the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. Gary was a Mechanic/Electrician and worked at various locations including Schoeller Technical Papers and Conrail.

Gary enjoyed fishing, socializing and his friends.

He is survived by his children; Jennifer Moyer, Carrie J Redden, Rachel A (Ronald L) Bennett; siblings Louie (Trudy) Moyer, Penny Cummings, Mandie Moyer, sister-in-law Lillian Moyer, five grandchildren including Damon Wallon and many friends. He was predeceased by siblings Dean Moyer, Darla Moyer, Glorie Moyer, Herbie Moyer brother-in-law Barry Cummings.

Gary E. Hilton, 50, of 7459 Lewis St., died Tuesday at his home. He had been ill with cancer.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, with the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.

10478 Gary G. Swanson, 66, a nearly life-long resident of Chelan, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at Lake Chelan Community Hospital of natural causes.

He was born on Nov. 15, 1945, at Wenatchee, the oldest son of Glenn and Ruby (Knowles) Swanson.

After school days, he was employed at Wagner's Lumber Mill at Twisp for 10 years.

Gary made friends easily and had a good sense of humor.
His passions were Dodge Ram Trucks (the bigger the better) and he enjoyed singing, going to rodeos and enjoying bull riding the most.

Gary loved visiting with people and his best friend was Darrall Zumwalt. They enjoyed many years of friendship and fellowship.

Survivors include a brother, Dennis Swanson of Wenatchee; two sisters: Judy Swanson of Chelan; and Gloria Swanson of Wenatchee; and many nieces and a nephew.

A graveside service will take place Saturday, March 10, at 11 a.m. at Fraternal Cemetery

Gary L. Workman, 60, of 3386 Maple Ave., died Thursday at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Syracuse. Mr. Workman retired in 1992 after 16 years with Miller Brewing Co. and previously worked eight years at Schoeller Technical Papers. He lived in Arlington, Va., before moving to Pulaski. He was a member of Park United Methodist Church, Robert Edwards American Legion Post 358 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7289 and a retired member of Ringgold Fire Department. Born Oct. 6, 1940, in Crichton, W. Va., son of Ervin and Leona Chapman Workman, he served in the Army from 1956 to 1962. He married Judith A. Stowell on June 9, 1963. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Christine A. Alberry, East Syracuse; two sons, Cary A. and Christopher J., both of Liverpool, and four grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. 10480 Gary Miner, an aged resident of Orwell, was found dead in bed Wednesday morning, Sept. 16, in the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. W. Stowell. He had been in usual health until a few days before his death, he was attacked with a hard cold. Mr. Miner, who was eighty years of age, is survived by two sons, four daughters, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral services were conducted in his late home Sunday afternoon by Rev. H.C. Shares of Sandy Creek and burial made in Molino cemetery.

He was a member of Christ Our Light Parish in Pulaski, and he was an avid antique dealer and collector. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Pulaski. Survivors: His wife, the former Betty Metott; a daughter, Kelly M. Fosdick of Cicero; two sons, David of Hancock and Mark of Cicero; a stepson, Chad Metott of Taberg; two sisters, Gail Audas of Florence and Lynn Marshall of Camden; a brother, Dean of Camden; two grandchildren.

A native of Jordan, NY, Gary lived in Mallory for most of his adult life. A US Army Veteran of Vietnam, Gary owned and operated his own company, All American Rigging of Syracuse. Gary loved hunting and fishing and was known for his tinkering with small engines and automobiles.
Surviving are his wife Jackie; daughter Lisa Prince; his sons, Gary (Kari)Moore, Shane and Shawn Moore; his step daughter Taylor Weisbrod; his step sons Wesley Weisbrod and George (Mary) Russell; his sisters Barb (Jim) Cronk, Debbie Hine, Wanda (Dean) Richardson and Beverly Thompson; his brothers, Bob (Sue) Moore, Eddie (Shatzie) Moore, Dan Kantake, and Jimmy Moore; his grandchildren Johnny, Brandon, Chris, Bre, Matt, and multiple others; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 6-7pm Tuesday with service and military honors immediately following.

Gayle D. DeLong, age 61, life resident of Fernwood, passed away Monday at Oswego Hospital. Gayle was born March 5, 1960, in Oswego, the daughter of Charles and Barbara Fryer Bellows. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1979. Gayle married John DeLong on July 31, 1982. She was employed by Mony, now known as Axa, for 22 years and Bank of NY for 10 years.

Surviving, are her husband, John, one son, John Jr. of Fernwood, two daughters, Alisha DeLong and Lacy DeLong, both of Fernwood, her mother, Barbara Bellows Fitzgibbons and three sisters, Deborah Bellows, Laurie Egan and Kristy Gage all of Pulaski and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Friday, November 5th, at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the funeral.

Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, July 1, 1914 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mr. Gaylord West - At the home of his son, Mr. L. H. West of 78 Second street, occurred the death of Mr. Gaylord West at 4:30 yesterday afternoon. Mr. West has been in poor health since 1904 and confined to his bed for the past seven months. Mr. Gaylord West was born in the town of Orwell April 19, 1833, and spent the most of his life in Oswego county. In 1861 he was a resident of Camden and held a position as sawyer for Mr. Taber in the mill known as the Meeker saw mill. While he resided in Camden he was a member of the fire Department. Mr. West came to Camden with his son, Mr. L. H. West, in 1913, with whom he has made his home since 1909. He is survived by his wife and three sons, L. H. West of Camden; A. D. West of Syracuse; A. E. West of Rome and one brother, Alva D. West of Wisconsin, who is 93 years old. The funeral will be held from the residence of Mr. L. H. West at 1 p.m. Friday. Rev. Frederick Maunder will be the officiating clergyman. The remains will be taken to Orwell on the afternoon train. -Camden Advance, 25th of June. - Mr. West was well known to many in the Democrat parish.
