Burial with full military honors will be in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m Friday at the funeral home. Surviving are his mother and father, Catherine and Walter "Larry" Gregory, Altmar; a brother, Michael Gregory, Orwell; a sister, Cheryl Gregory, Richland; his grandfather, Herman Tryon, Richland; a niece, 19 aunts and uncles and many cousins. Born November 1, 1964, in Syracuse, a son of Catherine E. Tryon, he graduated from Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School in 1983. He served in the Army from 1984 to 1992 in C Company, 141st and 143rd signal battalions, and was a veteran of Desert Storm. Spc. Tryon, a medically disabled retiree, received the National Defense Service medal, a Good Conduct medal, the Southeast Asia Service medal with three bronze service stars, a Bronze Star, the Kuwait Liberation medal, an Army Service ribbon and an Overseas Service ribbon.

Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, April 7, 1915 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - James Allen - James Allen, aged 67, died at his home, Delano street, last Wednesday morning March 31. Mr. Allen was born in Ireland and came to this country when a young man. He resided at Sandy Creek many years removing to this village about twelve years ago. He was a shoemaker and had a shop in the basement of the Froude block up to about four months ago when his health failed and he was obliged to take to his home where he has been ill since. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, one son, William, and two daughters, Mrs. Freeman Davis, of Lacona and Mrs. Demster Lyons, of this village. The funeral was held Friday afternoon from the home. Rev. A. P. Palmer officiated. Burial in Pulaski cemetery.

Newspaper Obituary - Monday, December 10, 1934 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski December 10 - Word was received here Monday of the death of James Henry Tollerton, 83, formerly of Richland and Mexico. Mr. Tollerton died at his home in Cortland at or about 10 a.m. Monday. He had been ill since last March. Mr. Tollerton was born in the town of Richland, near Daysville, December 25, 1851, son of the late Henry and Joanna Manwarren Tollerton. He had been a successful farmer all his life and at one time owned and operated several farms in Daysville. He retired to live in Mexico 14 years ago, and 12 years ago went on to Cortland where he and Mrs. Tollerton made their home with their daughter, Edith Ray Tollerton, superintendent of Cortland schools. Mr. Tollerton was a member of Mexico Masonic lodge, Daysville Methodist church and grange, and an ardent Republican. He was superintendent of Richland highway department six years and served as Daysville postmaster in that hamlet. For several years he operated the farm now owned by Guy Salsbury. On December 24, 1879, Mr. Tollerton married the former Lida J. Calkins, who survives him. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary five years ago. Also surviving are the daughter, Edith; a foster-daughter, Mrs. Edna Rose Lindborg of Rye, and a sister, Mrs. Stella Hardie, of Daysville. Mr. Tollerton died on the birthday anniversary of his late brother, Charles Tollerton. Funeral services will be held at the home Wednesday at 2:30. The body will be placed in a vault and will be brought to Daysville in the spring for interment, Mrs. Hardie and several other relatives from Richland and Mexico will attend the services.

Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, March 1, 1905 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Orwell - James Hilton died February 24, aged seventy-four years. He is survived by a wife, one daughter and two sons. The funeral was held at his late home, Monday forenoon, and burial made in Evergreen cemetery.

11857 JAMES I. NASH - WORKED FOR STATE DOT

James I. Nash, 59, of 12051 Route 178, died Sunday evening at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, where he had been admitted Wednesday after being injured on the job.

Michael R. Flick, public information officer for the state Department of Transportation in Region 7, said Mr. Nash's death is under investigation. He said Mr. Nash was working alone at the Jefferson County Subresidency in Adams when he apparently fell.

It's unclear, Mr. Flick said, if the head injuries Mr. Nash suffered occurred before or after he fell. He said Mr. Nash was "conscious but not lucid" when he was taken from Adams to Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

Mr. Nash worked on the family farm on Nash Road, town of Ellisburg, until he went to work for the state Department of Transportation, working out of the Adams state highway barn. He moved to Route 178 in the early 1980s.

Born March 18, 1943, in the town of Ellisburg, son of Andrew and Bertha Loomis Nash, he graduated from Belleville Central School in 1961 and served in the Army during the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed hunting and repairing various types of firearms.

Surviving are two sisters, Virginia Atkinson, Sandy Pond, and Loretta Drake, Port Ontario; two brothers, Harold N., North Carolina, and Marshall, Henderson, and several nieces and nephews.

A sister, Lillian Wood, and two brothers, Norman and Alden, died before him.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with the Rev. Sally Heiligman, rector of St. James Episcopal Church, Pulaski, officiating. Burial will be in Ellisburg Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A steel worker at the Holcomb Steel Company in Syracuse, Barclay had lived in this vicinity most of his life. 11859 James Joseph O'Kane

Federal Investigator

James Joseph O'Kane, 73, who did investigative work for the U.S. House Appropriations Committee from 1962 to 1992, died April 27 at his home in Burke. He had kidney cancer.

Mr. O'Kane traveled widely for his job, visiting military bases and other facilities to prevent or review abuses of federal appropriations.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., where he was an accounting graduate of King's College. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Early in his career, he did investigations for the General Accounting Office in Washington.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Because a son is mentally retarded, Mr. O'Kane became involved in fundraising work for Knights of Virginia Assisting the Retarded and the Northern Virginia Training Center for the mentally retarded.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Nancy Brewster O'Kane of Burke; five children, Patrick O'Kane of Burke, Noreen O'Kane of Alexandria, Michael O'Kane of Round Hill, Kathleen Leake of Springfield and Kevin O'Kane of Los Angeles; his mother, Elizabeth Searles of Wilkes-Barre; three sisters; and two granddaughters.

11860 James K. Henderson, 71, of Cromwell, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Donna Clark Henderson for 37 years. Born and raised in Lansdowne, PA, son of the late Charles Henderson, Jr. and Virginia (Kinsman) Henderson, he graduated from Lansdowne-Aldan High School and continued to Rochester Institute of Technology. He then went on to Officer Candidate School before honorably serving his country in the U.S. Navy. Jim retired from the Navy Reserve as a Commander after 25 years. Jim loved woodworking and spending time at Lake George, but above all, he loved his dear granddaughter, Charlotte. He leaves his son, Scott Henderson, and wife Elizabeth of Berlin, and his granddaughters Charlotte and Shelby (due in August). He also leaves his brother, Charles Henderson III and his partner Patricia Morgan of New Oxford, PA, along with several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Letitia Bingham. His family wishes to thank the staff at St. Francis Hospital along with Dr. Martin Hoffman for their care and compassion. Bishop, Veteran Hotel Man, Dead - He Had Conducted Hostelries at Cape Vincent, Antwerp and Elsewhere - Pulaski, March 26 - James L. Bishop, for many years a resident of Pulaski and well known throughout Oswego and Jefferson counties as a hotel keeper, passed away yesterday afternoon at the Commercial House in Parish, where he had made his home with a son, Clarence E. Bishop, since November, 1912, when the latter became manager of that hostelry. About three weeks ago the senior bishop was stricken with a severe shock of paralysis, and he had since continued to sink gradually until the end came yesterday. James L. Bishop was born in Clarendon, Vermont nearly 78 years ago and when a young man located in Woodville, Jefferson county, where with his brother, Don C. Bishop of Pulaski, he engaged in the boot and shoe business. About 20 years ago Mr. Bishop came to Pulaski and for a time conducted the old Salmon River hotel and later became associated with John F. Hubbard in the Pulaski House, which is still owned by the latter. Several years ago Mr. Bishop conducted the Union House at Cape Vincent. His next hotel venture was at Antwerp, where he managed the Proctor House, and a few years later went to Lyons Falls and became landlord of the Walton House. During the past decade or so his son, Clarence E. Bishop, has been associated with him in his hotel ventures his last one being at Lyons Falls. More than a year ago the junior Bishop became manager of the Commercial Hotel at Parish and his parents have since lived with him. The veteran hotel keeper was well known to the traveling public, by reason of his many years of hotel activities. He was well liked and had a wide circle of friends. James L. Bishop, in addition to his many years of entertaining the traveling public, had been for more than half a century a member of the Masonic fraternity. He first became a member of the Blue Lodge at Edwards, St. Lawrence County, and sometime later affiliated with Rising Sun Lodge, No. 63_, F. & A.M., at Belleville, Jefferson county, of which he was a member at the time of his death. Mr. Bishop was also a member of Pulaski Chapter, No. 279, R.A.M. Surviving are his wife and son, Clarence E. Bishop; two brothers, Nathan P. Bishop of Adams Centre and Don C. Bishop of Pulaski, and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Tabor of Adams and Mrs. Martha Babcock of Smithville. The funeral will be held from the Commercial House at Parish tomorrow afternoon at 1. The body will be brought to the Pulaski cemetery where the Masonic burial service will be conducted by Pulaski Lodge, No. 415, F. and A.M.

James L. Breckenridge, 63, of 7410 Main St., died Tuesday at Oxford Veterans Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Harter-Olmstead Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery.

Calling hours were scheduled for 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Surviving are his wife, the former Lillian Rheome West; a daughter, Candy Shortsleeve, Mexico; three sons, Larry, Parish, James, Mexico, and Roger, Hastings; three stepdaughters, Mary Hooge, Parish, Margaret Miller and Emmie West, both of Mexico; three stepsons, Daniel West, Central Square, Leonard West, Parish, and Rodney West, Mexico; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Elmer, Ogdensburg.

Born in Pennsylvania, Mr. Breckenridge lived many years in the Parish-Mexico area. He retired as a truck driver from Erie Materials Inc., Mattydale.

Mr. Breckenridge was a veteran of World War II.

He married Helen Rheome Earl April 3, 1947, in the First Methodist Church, Ogdensburg, with the Rev. George Dando officiating. She died May 31, 1961.

Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, June 7, 1883 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Daysville - Died at his residence on Saturday the 2d of June, Mr. James Brown, aged 58 years. About three weeks before his death a small sore appeared on the ball of his foot which caused him much suffering. A little less than a week before his death the inflammation left his foot and settled in his body, causing blood poison, from which disease he died. The funeral was very largely attended at the church, on Monday, Rev. C. E. Beebe officiating. The deceased leaves four sons and four daughters to mourn his loss.

James L. Sperling, 41, of Rome Road in Pulaski, formerly of Sandy Creek, was pronounced dead on arrival at Oswego Hospital late Thursday following a one-car accident on County Route 11 in the town of Richland.

Born in Mannsville, Mr. Sperling was a life resident of this area. He graduated in 1956 from Mannsville Manor Central School and served in the U.S. Army in the 101st airborne division of paratroopers. Mr. Sperling formerly owned and operated the Sperling trash and rubbish removal service in Pulaski, Sandy Creek and Mannsville.

He was a member of AmVets of Pulaski.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Margaret Carpenter Sperling of Mannsville; his father, Gleason Sperling of Canada; a son, Mark of West Virginia; four daughters, Tracy, Lisa, Kathy and Jamie, all of Adams; two brothers, Michael of Sandy Creek and Robert of Portland, Maine; a sister, Mrs. Barbara Conrad of Buffalo, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Isabelle Carpenter of Sandy Creek.

Services were held July 14, 1980 at the Summerville Funeral Home in Sandy Creek with the Rev. Virgil H. Hager of Sandy Creek Baptist Church officiating.

Burial with military honors was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.

He was born May 17, 1902 in Port Ontario to Lewis and Lillian Ross Trumble and attended school there. In 1902 he was married in Pulaski to the former Ruby Watkins. They owned and operated restaurants in Fulton and Pulaski, until his retirement in 1972. Surviving are his wife Ruby, 2 sisters Mrs. Martina Burghdurf, of Pulaski and Mrs. Mildred Murray, of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was private with burial in Richland Cemetery, Richland. Contributions may be made in his memory to either NOCA or NOCHI. James L. Walker, 72, of 1208 N. Lee St., Leesburg, Fla. died Oct. 15.

He was born Sept. 1, 1917 in Watertown and was the son of Reed and Jeannette Snell Walker. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1937 and Simmons School of Embalming in Syracuse in 1938.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He owned and operated Walkers Dry Cleaners in Pulaski from 1947 to 1972. He also owned and operated Sandy Creek Liquor from 1972 to 1982 when he retired.

He was a member of the Pulaski Masonic Lodge 415 F&AM, a member of Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons 279 as well as a member of the Media Shrine Temple, Watertown, and a member of the Ancient Scottish Rites of Syracuse. He was also a member of the Elms Golf Club.

He was a former mayor, village trustee and justice of the peace of the village of Pulaski. He is a former member of the Ringgold Fire Department and the former chairman of the Eye Bank. He was also a former member of the Oswego S.P.E.B.Q.S.A.

He is survived by his wife, Eldora; two sons, James L. of Manitou, Colo.. and Douglas of Vail, Colo.; two daughters, Lynne Walker and Christine Walker, both of Denver, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Peggy Warner of Buffalo, and Julie Hanscome of Kersy, Colo.; two stepsons, Dennis Caufield of Houston, Texas, and Kim Caufield of Pulaski; and 10 grandchildren.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 7385 Park St., Pulaski. Services will be at the convenience of the family.

He had been a patient there two weeks and underwent major surgery on Monday. Services were held Sunday at 2 p. in. at the Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev. W. Russell Clark, pastor of Park Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery. Bearers were: Clifford Montondo, Reginald Broome, LaFayette Petrie, James Gaffney, John Schneider, and Robert Boyd. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Jewell Morgan; a sister, Mrs. Maurice (Flossie) Gates of Pulaski; a nephew, Richard Gates of Pulaski and a niece, Mrs. Leo (Jane) Doran of Syracuse and several cousins. Mr. Morgan was born in the Lehigh District on September 26, 1883 and was a son of Arthur and Amelia Montondo Morgan. He was educated in the Pulaski school and was associated with the Pulaski Motor Sales for several years. He worked for Enos & Morton many years and was a former member of the Ringgold Fire Company. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan operated the old Pulaski House for many years until it was destroyed by fire in October 1960. He was a member of Park Methodist Church

11869 James M Abran, 65, of Sandy Creek passed away at his home on Saturday December 3, 2016.

Mr. Abran was born January 30, 1951 in Buffalo, NY the son of Peter W and Madeline Abran.

He graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1969 and attended St Lawrence University. Mr Abran was butcher at P&C and later Tops Grocery Store in Pulaski until he retired.

Surviving are three children; James (Erin) Abran, Scott Abran, Lindsey Abran; siblings Peter (Diane) Abran, Catherine (Kirk) Ellis, Margaret Abran and her companion Delf King, Anne (Layne) Clark; grandchildren Madeline, Ryder, Scott and Ella.

A Celebration of Life will be Thursday 4pm, December 8th at Cathy and Kirks home. Burial will be at Unity Acres in the spring.

Donations may be made in his honor to Unity Acres, 2290 County Rt 2, Orwell, NY 13426.

Mr. Abran was born January 30, 1951 in Buffalo, NY the son of Peter W and Madeline Abran.

He graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1969 and attended St Lawrence University. Mr Abran was butcher at P&C and later Tops Grocery Store in Pulaski until he retired.

Surviving are three children; James (Erin) Abran, Scott Abran, Lindsey Abran; siblings Peter (Diane) Abran, Catherine (Kirk) Ellis, Margaret Abran and her companion Delf King, Anne (Layne) Clark; grandchildren Madeline, Ryder, Scott and Ella.

A Celebration of Life will be Thursday 4pm, December 8th at Cathy and Kirks home. Burial will be at Unity Acres in the spring.

Donations may be made in his honor to Unity Acres, 2290 County Rt 2, Orwell, NY 13426.

11870 James M. Babcock, 88, of Sandy Creek, NY, and more recently of Norwich, NY, passed away with family by
his side on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the New York State Veterans' Home in Oxford, NY.
Born on July 24, 1927 in Altmar, NY, James was the son of James and Elsie Mae (Freeman) Babcock. He attended Altmar schools until joining the Army. James later served in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict where he was honorably discharged. Following his service in the military, James returned to the family farm where he helped his father with the daily chores. He then began a long career in logging followed by employment with the Orwell Department of Transportation. He then joined the New York State Department of Transportation doing road work and construction for many years until his retirement.
On December 27, 1970, James married his wife of 45 years, Donna Mae Stowell, who survives. He is also survived by his two daughters, Tracy of Norwich, and Christina and her husband, Scott Utter, also of Norwich; two sons, Terrence Babcock and his wife, Janet, and Jonathan Babcock; two step-sons, Faron Cronk and his wife, Julie, and James Cronk; as well as grandchildren Morgan, Loretta, Archie, Terri Shyan, Justin, and Shannon and her husband, Jake. Two great grandchildren also survive; Tyler and Alexis.
James loved fishing and hunting. He often took long drives along the countryside looking for deer and places to hunt. He was especially fond of long car rides with his dear wife, Donna Mae.
Burial for James will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar, NY at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 8.

James N. MacBride, 92, formerly of Mattydale, passed away Wednesday at the Episcopal Church Home in Rochester.

Jim was born in Richland, NY, and was a resident of Mattydale for 60 years before moving to Rochester in 2005. He was a tool and die maker at General Motors for 10 years and then was employed at General Electric for 29 years as a tool and die maker and later as a produceability engineer, retiring in 1975. Jim was past president of the G.E. Softball Assoc. and the G.E. Farrell Rd. Golf League. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Mattydale, where he was a member of the church's Men's Club.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, the former Florence Haas; a son and daughter-in-law, James N. Jr. and Ann Marie MacBride of Rochester; two grandchildren, Chuck (DeeAnn) MacBride of Denver, Colorado, and Kristen (Monte) Bradshaw of Hudson, Ohio; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan MacBride, and Robert and Andrew Bradshaw.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary United Methodist Church, 201 E. Molloy Rd. in Mattydale. Burial will follow in Collamer Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Route 11, Mattydale.

Friends are invited to a reception at the church following the graveside service.

James P. "Pat" Butler, 91, of 166 N. Fifth St. died Friday at Lee Memorial Hospital.

A native of Oneida, Mr. Butler lived in Fulton 63 years. He worked for the city of Fulton and retired as a heavy equipment operator.

Mr. Butler was a member of the Oswego County Sheriff's Association.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine; four daughters, Lena Aluzzo of Fulton, Agnes Martin of Hannibal, Rosemary Hunter of Parish and Darlene Baum of Phoenix; a son, Earl P. Sr. of Oswego; a brother, Stanley D. of Cortland; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Young & Son Funeral Home, Salvation Army Lt. Beverly Jerauld officiating. Burial will be in Mount Adnah Cemetery.

11876 James Parkhurst was a cooper by trade, listed also as a sawyer and a hoop maker in various census listings. He served in the 1st NY light Artillery for 9 months commencing in 1861. He was later a member of the E.L. Bentley GAR Post 265 of Albion, where he served as an officer.
A biography of James and his family is found in the 1895 Landmarks of Oswego County, page 128 in the 3rd section. His paternal Grandfather Josiah Parkhurst came to New York from Massachusetts, settled in Oneida County where James' father lived until 1845 when they moved to Oswego County.
James and Caroline had no children, and lived in a large farm on the Albion Cross Road.

He continued with U.S. Customs Service and worked at the Marine City Ferry and then became a supervisor at the Blue Water Bridge. He retired in 1988 after thirty years of service. He enjoyed watching all types of sports but loved to play golf. Mr. Bentley was a lifelong resident of this place. He leaves two brothers and one sister besides a large circle of friends to mourn his loss. He was brought here Tuesday afternoon and the funeral was held Thursday at two o'clock, he was buried at Pineville cemetery.

He died in Syracuse, Monday, March 25, as announced last week, and the funeral was attended last Thursday from the residence of O. H. Bentley, Rev. J. Foster Wilcox, officiating. James A. Bentley was born in the town of Lee, Oneida county, September 22, 1839, and moved to Oswego county in 1847, and to this immediate vicinity in 1848. He was a student of Pulaski Academy until 1861, when he enlisted with Capt. Erastus Peckham; was discharged and re-enlisted in Company I 37th regulars New York Volunteers, where he served two years, being in the battle of Yorktown, Williamsburg, Fair Oaks, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville and several others; was discharged, made a short visit home and return to Washington where he enlisted in a construction company, remaining until the close of the war. He became interested in the oil excitement in Pennsylvania in 1865 and went there, remaining until 1868, when he returned to Pulaski and followed the trade of a carpenter until 1875. He resided at the home of his parents and engaged in various enterprises. He suffered considerably from neuralgia, rheumatism and kindred diseases, passing several winters in Florida, returning to the homestead summers. He had an attack of paralysis, June 15, and was ill until lie died at the home of his sister, Mrs. S. A. Hall, Syracuse, March 25, 1901.

James Middleton was born November 29, 1905, at Grafton Square in the Town of Parish. He was the son of Ernest and Lillian (Watkins) Middleton and he attended Town of Parish and Pulaski Schools. On February 14, 1928 Mr. Middleton married the former Gladys I. Dibble in Pulaski. Middleton was a plumber for 26 years, 14 years for Fred Mahaffy and 12 for Cobb's Motor Express. He was also a custodian and bus driver for Pulaski Academy and Central School. Middleton retired in August 1969. James Middleton was a member of the Pulaski Lodge 648 I.O.O.F. Salmon River Encampment. Middleton is survived by his wife and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 19 from the Foster-Hax Funeral Home with pastor Michael Ortel of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery, Pulaski.

James W. LaCelle, 79, County Route 17, died Tuesday at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, Syracuse.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenboro Cemetery.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Redfield Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife, M. Joyce; a son, James E. LaCelle, Mexico; two daughters, Barbara Ward, Hagerstown, Md., and Karen L. Cole, Earlville; two stepdaughters, Sally and Debbie Montieth, both of Redfield; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerald "Bun" LaCelle, North Syracuse; 12 half-brothers and half-sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

Born Nov. 6, 1915, in Pulaski, son of Clyde and Goldie Stowell LaCelle, he graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1933 and attended Cornell University, Ithaca.

Mr. LaCelle served in the Army from 1935 to 1938. He returned to the service in 1941, and served in the Pacific theater before leaving the service again in 1945.

He married Anna Snyder Crandall. She died in 1955. On Jan. 28, 1961, he married Margaret Yerdon.

Mr. LaCelle was a rural mail carrier for 44 years for the Williamstown post office. He retired in 1979.

He was a charter member of the Redfield Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Oswego County Republican Party. Mr. LaCelle was a 10-year member of the Tug Hill Commission and a member of the Redfield Town Council for 12 years. He was also a member of the Retired Postal Workers Association.

Mr. LaCelle worked with the summer recreation program in Redfield.

James W. Martin, 56, of New Haven, died Friday, June 19, 2009 at his home after a short illness.

He was born in Sandy Creek to William Martin of Hastings, and the late Reta Brennan.

Mr. Martin was past employed with Feldman's as a handyman and Crouse Hines. He loved fishing, camping, gardening and animals.

He was predeceased by his sister Cathy Martin.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 10 years, Barb Martin of New Haven; three daughters, Bobbi Jo Martin of Watertown, Jessica Martin of Syracuse, Ashley Armstrong of Utica; three sons, Jacob Martin and Owen Drought both of Syracuse, Elvis Armstrong of Camp LeJeune, N.C.; 11 siblings, Sally Parker of Mexico, Linda Harten of Fulton, Marie Martin of Hastings, Tina Sobotka of Maple View, William Martin of Pulaski, Robert Martin of Mannsville, Rick Martin of Scriba, David Martin of Pennellville, Clarence Martin of Granby, Michael Deforge of Clay and Joe Deforge of Oswego; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Memorial services will be held 6 p.m., June 25, at Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. South, Fulton with the Rev. David Nethercott officiating.

Burial will be private.

Calling hours will be held from 4-6 p.m., June 25at the funeral home.
