Newspaper Obituary - Monday, June 15, 1931 Buffalo Evening News - Buffalo, New York - Telegraph Official Found Dead in Bed - Weed Services Will Be Held in Syracuse - James W. Weed, 45, of 300 Huntington avenue, district supervisor for the Postal Telegraph company, with headquarters in Buffalo for the past six years, was found dead in his room in a Syracuse hotel late Friday afternoon. Mr. Weed's death was attributed to a heart attack. He had been troubled with a heart ailment for a considerable period, it was learned. He was in excellent health when he left Buffalo for Syracuse and other points in his territory. Funeral services for Mr. Weed will be held in Syracuse at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at his birthplace, Pulaski. The funeral will be attended by a delegation of representatives from the Buffalo offices of the Postal Telegraph company, headed by John S. McIntire, manager. There will be other delegations from points in the district. Mr. Weed began his service with the company 43 years ago as a messenger boy in the company's Syracuse office. While serving as a messenger boy, he learned the telegraphic code, and his rise in the organization's employ began. In the period of his service he acted as manager of the Gloversville, Jamestown and Elmira offices. He came to Buffalo from Syracuse in 1925, to become superintendent of the district. With the outbreak of the Spanish war, Mr. Weed enlisted in Jamestown in the signal corps of the American army, and saw service in that conflict. He was mustered out of service with the cessation of hostilities and at once resumed his duties with the Postal company. Mr. Weed was a member of North Park United Presbyterian Church, and of Washington Lodge 240, F. & A.M. He was also a member of the Spanish war veterans' organizations here. He was well known among Buffalo sportsmen as an ardent fisherman and bowler. Surviving Mr. Weed are his wife, Anna D. Weed, a daughter, Dorothy, and a brother, Thomas E. Weed, all of Buffalo. Mrs. Weed was visiting in Sodus, at the time of her husband's death.

James E. Maring May 18, 2010 James E. Maring, age 74, resident of Sandy Creek and Pulaski for the past 40 years died Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse. James was born April 11, 1936 in West Carthage, NY, the son of Clinton and Delores Wilkinson Young. He graduated from Lowville High School in 1953 and he attended CCBI in Syracuse. He served in the Naval Reserve from 1952 until 1958. James married Mary Hardy on June 15, 1987. He served as a NYS Trooper from 1961 to 1977 and he was also a Syracuse Police Officer from 1957 until 1960. James was employed as a bus driver for Pulaski School District for 19 years, retiring in 2001. He also served as Sandy Creek Town Justice from 1982 until 2010. James along with Tom Rindos owned and operated Sears Catalog Store and Frick & Frack Restaurant, both in Pulaski, for many years. James was a member of the Pulaski American Legion Robert Edwards Post #358, the Fraternal Order of Police and the NYS Magistrates Association. Surviving, his wife Mary; one son, James A. (Yvonne) Maring of Oswego; three daughters, Vicki (Bruce) Swaider of Painesville, OH, Shelia Bond of Syracuse and Diane Maring of Rochester; one stepson, Robert (Michele) Hardy of Pulaski; two stepdaughters, LouAnn (Ric) Solomon of Constantia, and Lori (Joe) North of Norfolk; two brothers, Donald Maring of Watertown and Leo Maring of Webster; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with a burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society Central NY Region, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057.

11904 James, who was known as "Red" was a rural mail carrier. He was a Veteran of World War II and was one of the first from Friendship to enlist in the Korean War. He was also a member of the Friendship Fire Co., Friendship American Legion, and the Allegany County 40 'n' 8. In June 1966 James and his family were traveling in there station wagon on a narrow country road in Allegany County and collided head-on with a 26 year old drunk driver. 11905 Jan 10 1973 Pulaski Democrat Arleton M. Miller, 76 of R.D. 4, Pulaski, died late January 6, Sat. night in Oswego Hospital after a short illness. He was born February 22, 1896, in the Town of Albion, the son of Gilbert and Harriet Montgomery Miller. He attended school in the Wood's District in the Town of Albion. Miller was married in 1915 to Mabel Simmons at Maple View. They lived all their married life in the Towns of Albion and Richland. He was employed by Bradley and Williams Electrical Contractors .He retired in 1960. He is survived by his wife, two sons; Harold C. Miller of Sun Valley, California and Herbert A Miller of Pulaski, three daughters, Mrs. Elnora Hankins of Pulaski, Mrs. Violet Rice of Cicero, Mrs. Audrey Robinson of Parish. One son, Arlington L. Miller, died July 8, 1970. Funeral will be Wed.Rev. Jones, former pastor of the. Fernwood Baptist Church officiating. Spring burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Dugway

Arthur Hinman, formerly of Volney, died at his home in Pittsfield, Mass., on Wednesday, Jan. 21st, following a shock which he suffered the previous Monday. Funeral services were held in the mortuary chapel in Pittsfield cemetery, and the remains placed in the tomb to await burial in
the spring. Interment will be made in Pittsfield cemetery. The floral tokens were many and beautiful, including a wreath presented by the Royal Arcanum lodge of which he was a member

Mrs Dingman was born in Sandy Creek and resided for many years in Baldwinsville before moving to her daughter's home in Mexico two years ago. She formerly operated a beauty shop here. Surviving besides her daughter are grandchildren and great granchildren. Funeral Thursday with burial at Mexico Village Cemetery.

Kelsey, died Saturday at her home in North street, following a short illness, although she had been in poor health several years. Mrs. Kelsey was born April 30, 1850, at Loraine, Jefferson county, and had lived in this community more than 45 years. She had long been a member of J. B. Butler Women's Relief Corps 127. Her husband, one of the best known farmers in the eastern section of Oswego county, died four years ago today. Surviving are two sons, Clifton H. Kelsey of Pulaski and Clarence W. Kelsey of Copenhagen; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Montondo and Mrs. Percy A. Ingersoll, both of Pulaski; a brother, William Cole of Alberta, Canada, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Burt of Owosso, Michigan. Services will be held from the family home in North Street at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Officiating will be the Rev. Winfield A. Warren, pastor of First Baptist church. Burial will be in Lehigh cemetery.

11910 Jane A. Dingman, age 81, life resident of Pulaski and Richland, passed away, Wednesday at her home. Jane was born May 28, 1944, in Richland, the daughter of Orlando and Gladys Martin Reynolds, and was lovingly raised by her stepfather Donald Stevens. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Richland. Jane enjoyed latch hook, board games. She had a deep love for Elvis’s music and dancing and always had a full dance card wherever she went.

Jane is survived by her children, LeRoy Dingman, Jr., of Sandy Creek, Ruth Dingman of Sandy Creek, Betty Jane (Stephen) Shepherd of Shepherdstown, WV and Brian Dingman of Syracuse, sisters, Mary Woolson of Pulaski and Suzzie Norton of Sandy Pond, and brother Frank Reynolds of Richland, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Jane was predeceased by her son Rex Dingman in 2005 and grandson Chad Valencia in 2005. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Reynolds, Orlando Reynolds, Bill Reynolds, Fred Reynolds, Elsie Klebs, Ruth Waite and Richard Reynolds.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 3rd at Richland Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.

Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, September 30, 1896 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - The community is called upon to mourn the loss of one of its oldest and most highly esteemed inhabitants in the death of Mrs. Jane Bentley, widow of the late Spencer Bentley. The funeral services were held Saturday at the home of her son, J. E. Bentley, where her death occurred and with whom she had lived for many years. On this farm she and her husband raised their family, and by frugality, and industry amassed a comfortable property for their old age. Mrs. Bentley was a member of the M. E. church of this place, and was loved by young and old alike, who sincerely mourn her death. Her age was about eighty years.

Mrs. Allen was daughter of the late Amos Beedle, one of the old residents of the town and loved and respected by all. Her death is a sad blow to her husband and sisters and brothers in the community. Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, August 14, 1913 Oswego Daily Palladium - Oswego, New York - Mexico -Manwarren District, August 14 - Mrs. Jane Delong died at the home of her son, Jasper on Saturday morning, August 9th, after an illness of less than a week. She was born in Palermo in 1833, daughter of Gottleib and Eunice Pitcher. In 1852 she was married to John Delong, who died in 1889. Of that union eight children were born, three of whom have died. Those remaining are Dwight, Fernwood; Jasper, of this place; Mrs. Henry Schrieffer, Chicago, Illinois; Mrs. Runah Keller, Fulton, and Mrs. Dwight Hall, New Haven. When a girl she united with the Baptist Church at Palermo, afterward, upon taking up her residence here, uniting with the Daysville M. E. Church. She leaves besides the children named several grandchildren, a nephew, Charles Fleming of this place, and numerous other relatives and friends who will mourn her loss. But we feel that what is out loss will be her gain, for she had been heard to say many times that she was prepared to meet her Maker at any time. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. R. F. Thomas, Fernwood, on Tuesday. Burial took place in the family plot in Daysville cemetery. Her children were all present at the funeral, with other relatives from Utica, Fulton and other places.

Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, November 24, 1915 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Jane Potter Dingman, widow of Daniel W. Dingman, who died in this village several years ago, passed away, Monday evening, aged 79 years. Mrs. Dingman was daughter of Green and Ann Potter, who were pioneers of the town of Orwell and settled in the Potter neighborhood. Mrs. Dingman was a resident of the town of Albion many years after her marriage. It was there she bore three children, Etta, Howard and Carrie, only the son survives. She came to Richland some years ago and since coming here has made many friends who will be sad to know of her death. She has been kindly cared for in her declining years by her granddaughter, Mrs. Claude Lester, who has been with her constantly. Mrs. Dingman's mother was born in England and came to this country when a young girl, and her father was born in Floyd, Oneida County. She is survived by the son, Howard E. Dingman, who is now at the Richland home; three brothers, John M. and Elven. G. of Orwell and J. Grant Potter of this village. The funeral will be held at the home, Friday, at ten o'clock; burial in Richland cemetery. Agreeable to a request made some time ago, the service will be conducted by her friend of nearly fifty years, B. G. Seamans, of Pulaski.

Jane M. Seeley, 79, Route 11, died Sunday at Michaud Nursing Home, Fulton.

Mrs. Seeley operated the Redfield Hotel from 1944 to 1946 and co-owned and operated Seeley’s Restaurant from 1947 to 1985.

Born Sept. 4, 1920, in Redfield, she was a daughter of Claude V. and Nellie Mae McCaw Ballou.

She married John H. Seeley on April 14, 1941, in Alexandria, Va. Mr. Seeley died March 15, 1973.

Mrs. Seeley was a former member of Redfield Community Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Patsy A. Doyle, Oswego, and Suzanne C. Anderson, Clifton Park; a son, John C., Pulaski; two sisters, Vivian Hornsby, Lakeland, Fla., and Maureen Joralemon, Ravena; a brother, Vance Ballou, Little Falls, and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Park United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Foster-Hax Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to Oswego County Hospice, P.O. Box 102, Oswego, N.Y. 13126, or to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Oswego - Jane B. Savage, 84, a resident of 97 West 3rd St in Oswego, passed away Tuesday, in Loretto-Heights Nursing Home. Mrs. Savage was born in Fulton on October 25, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Bessie (York) Billings. She had been employed at the Nestlé's Corp. in Fulton, retiring in 1976 after 27 years of service. After retiring from Nestle's, she and her husband Harry bought and sold antiques in Oswego and Florida. She was well-known and will be remembered for her large yard sales. She was a generous, caring woman who was known to help many people in need. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harry Savage of Oswego; a daughter, Ann (Jim) Peterson of Oswego; 3 grandchildren, Jane (John) Eason of Oswego, Jim (Lesa) Peterson of Oswego, and Jay (Dina) Peterson of Oswego; 5 great-grandchildren, Zachary and Brooke Eason, Cassandra and Austen Peterson, and Emily Peterson, all of Oswego; and three nieces, Anita Morrell of Florida, Betty Malone of Oswego, and May Ann Hall of Hannibal. She was predeceased by a sister Annie Corey; and three brothers, Earl, Lester, and Philip Billings. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Friday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 6:00 to 9:00pm Thursday, at the funeral home, 112 East Second St. in Oswego. Janet E. Crast (Minor), of Pulaski, passed away unexpectedly October 1st 2020. She was born May 23,1947, in Syracuse, to Franklin and Mary Minor. She graduated from Sandy Creek high school Class of '65. She retired from Crouse Hinds and HFW Communications to look after her grandchildren which she always considered, "the best job she ever had."

Janet was predeceased by both of her parents, her brothers; Ronald Minor, Robert Minor and Franklin"Bud"Minor. She is survived by her children Mary "Julie" White, Torrey (Amy) Crast and Tara (Garrett) Amyot. Her grandchildren; Logan White, Viktoria White, Cordelia Crast, Amelia Crast, Ewan Crast, Kaywinnit Amyot, and Charlie Amyot, her husband Lonnie Crast and her sister-in-laws Deanna Minor and Carol Minor, and several nieces, nephews and cousinsJanet was an active member of Orwell Union Church, Orwell D.A.L.K.E.D. Class, and Lacona VFW. she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. Her family and friends were her whole life. She was a very kind soul that never hesitated to help anybody. Everyone whose lives she touched were better because of it.

Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, 3-6 pm, at Traub Funeral Home, Central Square. A Graveside Service will take place on Friday, October 9, 2020, 1 pm, at Evergreen Cemetery in Orwell. ONEONTA _ Janet Ellis Green, 92, died at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010.

She was the widow of Byron J. Green, who predeceased her on Dec. 3, 1997.

She was born to W. Jay and Mary E. Ellis on July 4, 1918.

She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, (Capt. John H. Smith, U.S.A.;) a sister, Rosemary E. Cruickshank of Springfield, Ore.; and a brother-in-law, Thaddeus A. Green of Greenville, S.C.

Mrs. Green was a graduate of New York State College for Teachers at Albany, now part of State University at Albany. A 42-year career as librarian included 26 years at State University College at Oneonta in "Readers Services" and several years as librarian at St. Mary's School in Oneonta. She was a beloved teacher and friend-a special person who touched many lives.

She is survived by a sister, Jean P. Manwarren of Pulaski; two nieces and two nephews, Marjorie A. Minotti of North Tonawanda, Joan C. Pfluger of Pulaski, Ward J. Manwarren of Pulaski, and C. Mrs. Hocking, a homemaker, was born in Springfield, Mass., and moved to Florida from Amsterdam. She enjoyed painting and golf.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Dean; three daughters, Denise Hocking, Rochester, Diane Dobbs, Schenectady and Michelle Hocking, Amsterdam; a brother, William Raymond, New Smyrna Beach; two sisters, Alice Gorse, Harriman, and Donna Schaeffer, Cobleskill; and four grandchildren.

Newspaper Obituary - Monday, October 11, 1965 Syracuse Herald Journal - Syracuse, New York - 5 Killed, 21 Injured in Weekend Accidents - Five area persons were killed and 21 injured in a rash of traffic accidents over the weekend. Two young women died in a head-on collision in Wayne county. A third motorist died when his car hit a tree. A 16 year old Pulaski girl died after the car she was riding in overturned and caught fire about midnight on the Rainbow Shores road in Oswego County. Dead were: Miss Rosa Mae Rouse, 18, of Wolcott. Miss Clemmie Knight, 20, of Red Creek. Miss Janice Sanderson, 16, of Pulaski. Donald Harrington, 42, of Marathon. An Ohio soldier was killed in an early morning one car accident in Watertown. Harrington was killed last night when his car reportedly left the highway on Route 163 near Canajoharie and crashed head on into a tree. Miss Rouse and Miss Knight were killed in an accident near Huron, when a car driven by Jimmy Lee Knight, of Red Creek, and another driven by Anderson Lester of Wolcott, crashed head-on on a rural road, according to police. Young Knight was injured seriously, as was Lester. Three other occupants of his car were injured: John Chambers, 24, of Alton, and James Fisher, 20, and Cora Fisher, 17, of Wolcott. A car train collision at 4:15 this morning at the Pearl Street New York Air Brake crossing of the New York Central resulted in the death at Mercy Hospital of PFC Horst Peter Kredlebach, 32. Patrolman Edwin Schneider Jr., said the soldiers 1961 compact sedan ran into the seventh car of the 14-car train. The soldier, attached to the 513th Ordinance and a resident of Cambridge, Ohio received severe chest and head injuries. A 16 year old Pulaski girl was fatally injured and two young men are in the Oswego Hospital, one critical, after the car in which they were riding in left the road. Pronounced dead at the scene was Janice Sanderson, 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Sanderson of 7456 Box Street. In critical condition in Oswego Hospital is Paul Haggerty, 19, of RD 2 Pulaski, who received fractures of the right arm and leg, a shoulder injury, cuts and bruises and third degree bums to his body. In fair condition in the hospital is James Beach, 16, of Pulaski RD 2, and Glastonbury, Connecticut, who incurred cuts to the hands, bruises and possible internal injuries. According to trooper R. C. Schilling and Investigator O. P. Honors, who investigated at the east in the Rainbow Shores road near Route 3. His car went into a skid, left the road near property belonging to Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Nolan of Pulaski, RD 2.

September 21, 2007 Janet T. Stamps, 83, of Cox Road, Williamstown, passed away Friday September 21, 2007, at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Orwell, NY, on May 3, 1924, a daughter of Frank and Ethel Dawley Turner. Janet was a graduate of Pulaski High School and Oswego State and received her master's from Hofstra University. She was a schoolteacher for over 40 years, retiring from Camden Elementary School in 1983; she had previously taught at Williamstown Elementary. On June 22, 1946, she married Stanton Stamps in Altmar United Methodist Church. They had lived in Williamstown since 1956. Mr. Stamps died November 18, 1995. Mrs. Stamps was a member of the Hastings-Gorski American Legion #1128 Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are four sons, Robert Stamps and Marge Kelso of Morrisville, VT, David and Loretta Stamps of Adams, NY, James of Trinidad and Samuel and Anne Stamps of Liverpool; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; one sister, Doris Beach of Sackets Harbor, NY; several nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Frank and Kathy Muir and Mary Roser. She was predeceased by a sister, Charlotte, and three brothers, William, Francis and Robert Turner. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Mrs. Woodruff was an office manager for 22 years with Salmon River News and sold real estate for several brokers in the Pulaski area.

Born Jan. 6, 1928, in Springville, daughter of Ward and Bernice Rogers Folts, she was a 1946 graduate of Springville High School.

A marriage to Richard Woodruff ended in divorce.

Mrs. Woodruff lived in North Syracuse before moving to Pulaski in 1965. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Jan Marie Holloway, Conway, S.C.; three sons, Richard J. Jr., Mead, Colo., and Thomas A. and Gerald L., both of Pulaski; three sisters, Joyce Smith, Alexandria, Va., Barbara Ferarro, Orchard Park, and Judith Kittle, Springville; two brothers, Roger and Charles Folts, both of Springville, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Foster- Hax Funeral Home.

Maltby, aged 23 years. For months the deceased had been in declining health, and yet while torturing uncertainty rested upon the hearts of her parents and friends the star of hope was present to cheer and encourage. For this reason when the time for her departure came, it was a sad, severe shock to all. Flora Maltby was a young lady of most excellent and genial disposition and her list of warm admiring friends embraced all her acquaintances. A native of Pulaski, where she has always resided, Miss Maltby was thoroughly well known and her record as a child, and as a young lady, at school, in society, at home, in her church relations, and everywhere, was such as to leave behind a sweet and over tender memory. She was a talented musician, and possessed a contralto voice of rare richness and power. She had from her youth been a faithful, consistent member of the Pulaski Congregational Church, and for many years she had been a member and organist of the choir in that church. A lovely Christian girl has gone out into the great Eternity of God. She will be missed on earth and warmly welcomed to the grandeur and holy joys of Heaven. The funeral will be held on Lake Street, from the residence of the parents of the deceased, at 2 o’clock to-day, Wednesday.

Mrs. Crowell had been in poor health for about two years, but for the past few weeks her malady, Bright's disease, had taken a more severe turn. For many years deceased had resided with her twin brother, Augustus Dillenbeck, who is an invalid, and had tenderly cared for him, and her great anxiety was to be spared to that continuous care. Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 16, 1901 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mr. Simeon Klock, for many years a resident of this village, died at his home, suddenly, Saturday evening about eleven o'clock. He ate his supper as usual and went out on the street feeling very well. While on the street he was taken seriously afflicted with heart trouble, he was removed to his home where he expired in a short time. Mr. Klock was born at Sharon, Schoharie County, New York, August 28, 1823. He came to this town in April, 1868 and has since been a resident here. He is survived by a wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Klock, a daughter, Mrs. Ella Clark, a son, Arthur B. Klock, two daughters, Adaline Klock and Mrs. Lizzie Scott. The funeral was held Monday at 3 p.m., Rev. J. Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 18, 1905 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Georgetta, wife of V. B. Weed, died at her home on Port Street, Thursday evening, after a short illness. She had a severe cold and from that suffered paralysis of the brain. Mrs. Weed's maiden name was Sampson and formerly resided in Sandy Creek, coming to this village about five years ago. She was fifty years of age and a woman who was loved and esteemed by all. She was a member of J. B. Butler W. R. C. At the time of her death her husband was in Virginia and only her daughter, Miss Jennie, the only child, was at home. Her funeral was held Monday at one o'clock, Rev. B. D. Snyder officiating. The choir from the M. E. Church sang two selections. Many of the ladies of the W. R. C. attended in a body. Many beautiful floral tributes were in evidence and a large number of friends from the village and from away were present to pay their last respect to the departed.

Her death was sudden and unexpected, typhoid pneumonia being the cause. She has been in feeble health a number of years and was nearly always at home. She will be much missed by her son and husband, which constituted the home circle. Rev. Hall, of Dugway preached the funeral sermon.

Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 17, 1912 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Another of the boys who wore blue was called to his eternal rest, last Sunday evening, when Newton A. Philbrick fell asleep without a special warning that he should go soon. Though Mr. Philbrick has been in poor health for some time he was around the house and death overtook him in those conditions. Mr. Philbrick was 67 years of age and resided in Pulaski a great part of his life. Before 21, he enlisted in Co. F., New York Volunteers and served to the close of the war. He was a member of J. B. Butler Post, G. A. R. Mr. Philbrick is survived by his wife, one daughter, two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Price and Mrs. Wheeler, of this village. The funeral will be held from the home today at half past one.

11948 January 14, 2009 Joseph V. Janacek of East Syracuse, died Wednesday at James Square Nursing Home. He was born in Altmar, NY. He was an East Syracuse volunteer fireman and a member of the American Legion. He was a plant manager for Onondaga County for 33 years and a Navy veteran of WWII. Survivors: one daughter, Jackie Little of DeWitt; one son, John Janacek of East Syracuse; two sisters, Dolores (Herb) Hall and Irene (Burl) Greenfield, all of Altmar; one brother, Roland (Freda) Janacek of Sandy Creek; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
