| 12052 | JEFFREY A. MANWARING SANDY CREEK Jeffrey A. Manwaring, 64, of Sandy Creek, formerly of Hamilton, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. He was born on January 15, 1959, in Oswego to the late Arnold and Rosina (Hotelling) Manwaring. Jeffrey was a high school graduate of Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central Schools, he continued his education at Onondaga Community College, Murray State University, and SUNY Oswego where he received his master’s degree in education. On October 16, 1993, Jeffrey married Kristen Charles in Pulaski, she predeceased him on April 15, 2022. He was an educator of over 35 years, working in many districts including Caruthersville Central Schools, Hamilton Central School, Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School, Pulaski High School, and Sherburne-Earlville Central Schools where he spent 18 years as a music instructor, until his retirement. Jeffrey was large part of the S-E music department, serving as director of the marching band and a Coordinator for the Pageant of Bands for 18 years. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time watching the horse races at Vernon Downs, and was a devoted fan of his alma mater, Murray State University, basketball team. He is survived by his sons, Tyler Manwaring, (Ally Colp) of Whitesboro, Colin Manwaring, (fiancé, Megan Hart) of Syracuse; sisters, Avis (James) Peterson, of Central Square, Cynthia (Keon) Wild, of Pennellville, Dorothy (Richard) Beck, of Mexico; brother, Lyle (Lisa) Manwaring, of Mexico; sister-in-law, Wendy Fisher, of Hamilton; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and canine companions, Reggie and Sadie. He had been employed by the state Department of Parole for the past three years. He previously was employed by Oswego County Probation Department and Child Protective Services for 15 years. Born July 17, 1967, in Oswego, son of Charles R. and Ruby D. Hutchins Woolson, he graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School in 1985, received a bachelors of arts degree from SUNY Cortland in 1989 and went on to earn a master's degree from SUNY Oswego. He was a member of the Tuesday Commercial Bowling League and the Snowbelt 700 Bowling Club and was an avid motorcyclist and hunter. Surviving are his mother, Ruby "Robin" Woolson, and her companion, Donald Pratt, Pulaski; a brother and his wife, Dane M. and Laura, Orwell, and two nephews. His father died Sept. 19, 1994. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Park United Methodist Church. Calling hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. | 12054 | Jeffrey Eugene Kline, 61, of Norfolk, VA, passed away June 21, 2019. Born in Ithaca, NY, he was a 1976 graduate of Pulaski Academy and Central School. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy in the submarine community. After his service, he found his calling in education, completing his Bachelor’s degree at SUNY Oswego and then additional degrees at ODU. He spent the last 22 years as a technology education teacher for the Virginia Beach Public School System. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, camping, hiking, and biking. Jeffrey was known for his dry sense of humor and quick wit. He had a deep love of animals and rescued many over the years. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, George Kline and Sharlene Sawyer Kline. Left to cherish his memory: his longtime companion, Heide Richards of Norfolk; sisters, Vicki Darrow (David), Stefanie Joss (Lance), and Pamela Bell (Harold); nieces, Marlyss DuBois and Kassie Joss; nephews, Zachary Darrow, Ryan Bell, Devon Darrow, and Matthew Bell; as well as his extended family. Very little friction or discord of any kind to mar the harmony of its members. As free from sickness as could be expected, from such a number of aged and enfeebled ones. There has been but one death, Mrs. Jennie Elizabeth Soule. She was born in Oswego, November 7th, 1848. Her life was mostly spent here. In 1870 she married Adelbert D. Soule, who for many years connected with the flourishing dry goods house of Henderson and Company, in the store now occupied by Mr. George Campbell. Mrs. Soule was of a retiring nature, fond of her home and friends and to give them up was very trying, in fact she never could forget her former life and the change to her seemed impossible. She was not able to adapt herself to the inevitable, she tried to be brave and happy and to accept the blessings she now lacks. Her interment was in Willis cemetery, Daysville. Born Nov. 26, 1912, in Lyme, daughter of Frederick and Edith Calhoun McConnell, she attended Chaumont schools and then worked raising her brothers and sisters at the family home at Three Mile Bay She married Secil R. Brown on Nov. 28, 1931, at Three Mile Bay with the Rev. George Foote officiating. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Rodman, where they worked on the Kenfield farm for 12 years. In 1944, they moved to Adams and worked on the Albert Tolman farm for many years. Mr. Brown, a retiree of the state Department of Transportation, died March 6. Surviving are a son, Secil Thurston Brown, New Haven; five brothers, Calvin McConnell, Rodman, Warren McConnell, Richland, Melzer McConnell, Mexico, Leland McConnell, California, and Chester McConnell, Watertown; three sisters, Aletha Stewart, Marathon, Etta VanAlystyne, Watertown, and Wealtha Prior, Rodman; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. | 12071 | Jerome B. Wheeler, was born in the town of Russia, Herkimer county, January 4th, 1829. He was married to Emily E. Bow, of Jefferson county, February 22nd, 1852, since which time he has been engaged in agricultural pursuits, except three years spent as a sailor on the lakes. ["History of Herkimer County", F. W. Beers & Co., Publishers, 1879, New York., p. 276] Jerome B. Wheeler of Middleville, Herkimer county a farmer, dropped dead near his cow barn on the Ford farm Sunday morning of heart disease. He was driving a cow into the yard and suddenly threw up his arms and instantly expired. His age was 57. He leaves a family of four children. The Fulton County Republican, August 12, 1886 Mr. Jerome B. Wheeler, a farmer, of Middleville, dropped dead near his barn Saturday evening about 6 o'clock. Mr. Wheeler was milking the cows and had gone out in search of one which was missing. He found the animal and chased her around the yard several times and called for help, on the appearance of which he fell backwards and expired immediately. Death is supposed to be the result of heart disease. He was 57 years of age and leaves four children, a son who is married and three young daughters, to mourn his loss. He was a tenant on the farm of Mr. A. W. Ford and was a hard working man. It is believed the family are left in straightened circumstances. He was employed by Niagara Mohawk as a maintenance mechanic at Nine Mile Point for 25 years, retiring in 1997. He was previously employed by GE for several years. Jerry was a member of Park United Methodist Church in Pulaski. Surviving are two daughters, Arleen (Randall) Newcomb of Pulaski and Karen (Mark) Bisha of West Monroe; one brother, Charles T. Mr. Burdick had sustained a broken hip when struck by a cow on his farm in the southwest section of Albion. He was hospitalized for some time in Syracuse and had never been in good health since the accident a little over a year ago. Besides his activities in Dairy circles he was an active member of the Fernwood Baptist Church being especially interested in mission work, home and foreign. Jimmie was an outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and the Adirondack Mountains. He was a Corvette owner and enthusiast. Most of all, Jimmie enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife, Susan of Pulaski and their son, Jason Noble of Mexico, his three children from his first marriage, Carol (Scott) Finnerty, Susan Brown and Mark Noble, all of Pulaski, his sister, Connie Luce of North Carolina, three grandsons, Christopher (Jessica) Finnerty, Jonah Brown and Justin Brown, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Storm. Two brothers, George (Mickey) Kinsman of AuSable Forks, N.Y., Robert Kinsman of AuSable Forks, N.Y, and several nieces and nephews.. Joan was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Mapes; her parents, Clifford and Helen Kinsman; her brother, Joseph Kinsman; and her niece, Patricia Kinsman.. Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton. Mrs. Saunders worked at North Country Veterinary Services for 27 years. She previously operated the Coffee Cup Restaurant. She was a lifelong resident of Pulaski. Born Sept. 17, 1936, in Pulaski, daughter of Leon and Lillian Hilton Rossman, she attended Pulaski Academy High School. She married William C. Saunders on Nov. 16, 1956, in the Pulaski Methodist Church parsonage with the Rev. Russell Clark, pastor, officiating. Mr. Saunders died July 29, 1992. Mrs. Saunders was a member of Park United Methodist Church and the Monday night women's bowling league. Surviving are two daughters, Deborah A. Potter and Pamela J. Helinger, both of Pulaski; two brothers, Jon Rossman, Jordan, and Arthur Rossman, Tempe, Ariz.; a sister, Joyce Burke, Tempe, and six grandchildren. A daughter, Karen L. Scarrott, died July 6, 1998. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
