He was raised by his grandparents after the loss of his mother in 1932. He is predeceased by three sisters and one brother: Pauline Sidmore, Phyllis West, Doreen Bettinger, and Earl Clark. Ken joined the Merchant Marines in 1943 at 15 years old and then the United States Navy in 1946. After his discharge from the Navy he joined Iron Workers Local 60 and retired after 31 years. He was married to Helen Lashomb on March 20, 1951. He is survived by Helen and their 8 children: Catherine, Stephen (Joanne), Barbara Pratt (Doug), Michael (Debbie), John (Susan), James (Kim), Margaret Ventura, and Thomas (Yvette). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nephews and nieces. He was buried at the Florida National Cemetery with military honors on July 11, 2016. He was born July 12, 1941 in Osceola, the son of Pearl and Marion Dean Tilton. He graduated from Camden Central High School in 1959. On September 1, 1962 he married Kathleen Holmes. Ken worked at Farnsworth Envelope Co. for twenty-six years. He also built, owned and operated the Country Note Restaurant in North Bay with his wife for eighteen years. He was a member of the Hillsboro Baptist Church. Ken was a true woodworking craftsman. Along with building his restaurant, he also built his home and several pieces of furniture. He played golf and was proud of his hole-in-one on a Par 4. He also groomed trails for the T C Riders Snowmobile Club for several years. Although being a dad wasnt in Gods plans, Uncle Kenny loved and enjoyed his many nieces and nephews and friends children. Surviving besides his loving wife of 52 years, Kathleen, are: two brothers and a sister-in-law, Newton Tilton,of Camden, and Malcom and Chris Tilton, of McConnellsville; and several beloved nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2pm at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc, 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden. Ken was the youngest of his siblings, Patsy (William) Landers, Michael Martin, Trudy (Louis) Moyer, Wes (Brenda) LaRue, Ken was a 1975 graduate and longtime resident of Sandy Creek. He had a long career in the fire department, where he served as Chief of Lacona and Assistant Chief of Sandy Creek and devoted over 40 years as a fireman. Ken then later became Deputy Mayor of Sandy Creek. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. But more than anything, Ken was a devoted husband to his wife Lori LaRue (Miller) and father to their kids. He loved spending time with his children, sharing stories, hunting, fishing, and camping. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced. Ken is survived by his loving wife, Lori, and their children, Randy, Chet (Tiffany), Shylo, Korey, Adyme (William), Hillary (Joshua), Joshua (Brittany) and his grandchildren, Devyn, Aubri, Dillion, Hayli, Kylie, Brady, Chase, Zander, Corbin, Zoie, McKenley Isabella, Lydia, Emily, and Jonah. He was born on March 6, 1953, in Watertown, NY, son of Vernon and Louise (Mitchell) Gardner, and he attended General Brown High School. Following school he entered the US Air Force on October 30, 1972 in Syracuse, NY. He was honorably discharged on May 29, 1978 as a Sergeant. Kerry went to Washington State where he received training for marine maintenance and technology. He began a lifelong career as a marine mechanic and manager for many local marinas including the Light House Marina in Pulaski and he retired from Lake Ontario Mariners Marina, Henderson Harbor in 2017. He married Patricia L. “Patti” Whitney on July 25, 1998 in Pulaski where the couple have resided since they got married. Patti is retired from Oswego County Boces where she was a special education teacher. Kerry was an avid snowmobiler and a member of the Pulaski-Boylston Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed boating, operating his radio controlled airplanes, traveling, and coaching and volunteering for the Salmon River Ice Hockey Association. He was also a coach for the Pulaski High School Lake Ontario Storm where his son played hockey. Among his survivors are his beloved wife Patricia L. “Patti” Gardner, Pulaski; five children, Joy (Michael) Furby, Pittsburg, PA, Nikki (Jonathan) Thorn, Kansas City, MO, Adam (Erica) Isgar, Pulaski, Ken (Julianna) Isgar, Pulaski and Blaine Gardner, Fulton; 12 grandchildren, Desimond (Mareisha) Hicks, Amanda Campbell, Kelin Hicks, Elliot and Jackson Thorn, Caleb, Owen, Julian, Memphis, Welles, Emrys and Davis Isgar; four great grandchildren, Kiera, ArMani, Jaiden and Nora; a brother and sister in law, Kenneth and Susan Gardner; a sister and brother in law, Karen and Jack Bruce, Pillar Point, NY; many nieces and nephews. Son fatally shoots father in Thanksgiving Day hunting accident SANDY CREEK, N.Y. -- A man accidentally shot and killed his father while hunting on Thanksgiving Day, state police in Pulaski said today. Kristopher D. Paro, 24, shot and killed his father, Kevin D. Paro, 58, in the woods behind his house in Sandy Creek. According to police, Kristopher Paro was hunting alone in the area behind his house at 310 Kehoe Road around 4:41 p.m. yesterday. He was in a tree stand when he heard what he thought was a deer about 100 yards away. The sound was actually Paro's father, Kevin, who had gone into the woods to hunt as well. Paro fired with a .270 rifle and struck his father in the chest. Kevin Paro was transported to Oswego Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Mrs. Stewart enjoyed riding her horses, boating, camping and fly fishing. A marriage ended in divorce.
