15651 Newspaper Obituary - May 3, 1956 Pulaski Democrat - Services Held for Dawley Infant - Dolores Marie Dawley, 13 months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Dawley, died at the home of her parents on the old Mexico road Friday. Services were held at the Taylor Funeral Home Sunday at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Wesley Baker, pastor of the Richland Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Richland Cemetery. Surviving are her parents; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Reynolds of Richland and her paternal grandfather, Herbert Dawley of Pulaski; several cousins, aunts and uncles. 15652 Newspaper Obituary - May 3, 1993 Syracuse Herald Journal - LAURA C. MILLER - Laura C. Miller, 98, of 682 Genesee St. died Saturday at the Oneida City Hospital Extended Care Facility after a brief illness. Mrs. Miller was born in Richland and was a resident of Oneida for most of her life. She was a licensed practical nurse for more than 50 years and worked in Oneida City Hospital. She was also a private duty nurse in the Oneida area. She retired in 1980. She was a former president of the Wampsville School District Parents Teachers Association. Surviving are two sons, Wesley of Verona and Ronald R. of Oneida Castle; two daughters, Wilma Major of Oneida and Norma Whipple of Canastota; two sisters, Irene Hubbard of Oneida and Nellie DeVaul of Canastota; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Services will 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, the Rev. Donna Kay Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Oneida Castle Cemetery. Thomas, 67, life resident of Pulaski, died Saturday at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney. Sharon was born June 26, 1941, in Pulaski, the daughter of John and Beatrice Wilder Thomas. She was a loving graduate of Pulaski Academy High School, Class of 1959. She was employed by Bristol-Labs in Syracuse for several years and had also been employed by Kinney Drugs in Pulaski for a number of years. Sharon was a member of the Pulaski Park United Methodist Church. Surviving: two sisters, Sandra (Paul) Wilson of Pulaski and Patricia (William) Mowry of Mexico; one brother, John (Nancy) Thomas of Pulaski; her close friend, Judy Parker of Pulaski; nine nieces and nephews; and several great- nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with burial in Pulaski Cemetery. A calling hour will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, prior to the funeral. 15654 Newspaper Obituary - May 30, 1968 Sandy Creek News - Funeral to Be Held Friday for Earl Jamerson - Earl W. Jamerson, a resident of this township all his 72 years, died Tuesday morning, May 28, 1968 in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown. He had been a patient there for three weeks, having suffered a heart attack at his home on Lake Street, Sandy Creek. Mr. Jamerson was serving his town as Concilman. A retired farmer, he was employed for seven years by the Oswego County Soil Conservation Service, being for some time vice president of the County ASC Committee. He was a farmer for 30 years and for 10 years was employed by the Stevens Milling and Feed Company, inc. of Lacona. He was a member of the Sandy Creek Baptist church and was also active member of the Sandy Creek Grange - Born Here in 1895 - Mr. Jamerson was born in this town Nov. 7, 1895, a son of Charles W. and Daisy Allard Jamerson. He attended school here. March 31, 1917 he was married in the Baptist parsonage to Miss Louis Burnham. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary last year at the gathering held in Grange Hall. Mrs. Jamerson survives; also a daughter, Helen (Mrs. Willis) Jones of Rome. There are three grandchildren, William Jones, David Jones and Mrs. Betty McElbany, all of Rome, also two great grandsons, William Jones Jr. and Thomas D. Jones. He also leaves a sister, Dorothy (Mrs. Gordon) Eckford of Adams. The funeral service for Mr. Jamerson will be held Friday at 2 p. m. at Cleveland funeral home. The Rev. V. H. Hager, pastor of Sandy Creek Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. Bearers are expected to be Harry Nicholson and Charles Nicholson of Mexico and from this community, Oscar Grossman, Leland Bumpus, Alvin Kraau and Leon Stowell. Born June 27, 1916, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late William and Hazel Kleintob Sprake Sr. He was a 1934 graduate of Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Germany. He was formerly employed at Holmes Metallic, Wilkes-Barre, for many years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wilkes-Barre. He was preceeded in death by his wife, the former Edith Dodson; brothers, Robert and Donald. Surviving are a son William H. He retired in 1980 from the city of Auburn Street Department. His wife, the former Angela D'Antonio, died in 1967. Mr. Feek was active in the Cayuga County Democratic Committee. He was an associate member of Frank Calimeri Post 9, American Legion. In his later years, he participated in the Golden Games competition. White, died Saturday, May 26, 1956 at University Hospital, Syracuse, where she had been a patient for more than a week and had undergone major surgery. Mrs. White was born in Altmar on Feb. 6, 1878, the daughter of William and Julia Pommeraning Kandt. Her entire life was spent in that vicinity and she was a member of the Altmar Grange and Methodist church. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Violet White, Altmar, and Mrs. Ruth Allen, Pulaski; two sons, Clyde, Pulaski, and Allan White, Savannah, Georgia; a brother, Herman Kandt, Oswego and five grandchildren. 15659 Newspaper Obituary - May 4, 1961 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Rites Held For Accident Victim - Rites for Charles Spencer, 75, of Richland, who died Sunday in the St. Joseph's Hospital as the result of an auto accident, Saturday near Cicero, were held Wednesday at 2pm at the Taylor Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Murphy, pastor of the Richland Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in Dugway Cemetery. According to state police, a car driven by Lawrence Hahn, Clay Rd, was headed south on Rt. 11. Cars driven by Spencer and Ernest Smith of Cicero were northbound. Police said Hahns car ran headon into Spencers car. Smith's vehicle struck the rear of Spencer car. Police said Hahn told them he might have gone to sleep at the wheel. Investigation is being continued. Surviving Mr. Spencer are four sons, Stanley of Richland with whom he had made his home, Fenton of Central Square, Richard of Syracuse and Vernon of Fulton, Five daughters, Mrs. Maurice (Irene) Stacy of Brewerton, Mrs. George (Blanche) Waters of Durhamville, Mrs. Emil (Emma) Hilton of Central Square, Mrs. Harry (Dorothy) Rogers of Jordan and Mrs. Chester (Anna) Murphy of Parish; 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Mr. Spencer was born Oct. 30, 1885, in the Town of Albion, the son of William and Emma Hooper Spencer. He was married to Miss Lena Montondo. Jan 19, 1902 whose death occurred April 3, 1944. He had been a resident of Pulaski most of his life and in his early life worked at the Tollner box factory until its closing.

Newspaper Obituary - May 15 1947 Pulaski Democrat - C. E. Hoffman, of Howardville, town of Albion, passed away May 5 at Syracuse Hospital, He had been severely ill for three months. Mr. Hoffman was born on the Erie Canal at Syracuse, but moved to Howardville at the age of five when his father bought a farm there. He was a justice of the peace for nine years in the town of Albion and also served as committeeman for several years besides operating the farm. He was a member of the Parish Grange. He in survived, by his wife Mrs. E. Hoffman, a daughter, Mrs. W. E. Carman and a grandson, Theodore Carman. Funeral services were Thursday, at his Howardville home with burial in the Dugway cemetery.

15666 Newspaper Obituary - May 9, 1923 Sandy Creek News - AGED REDFIELD RESIDENT BURNED TO DEATH - Last Friday evening, between seven and eight o'clock, a neighbor saw flames issuing from the window of the home of Mrs. Ellen Petrie Thompson, a lady 77 years of age. Hastening to the house the neighbor found Mrs. Thompson dead on the floor. The fire was extinguished. Just how the woman came to her death is not known. It is suspected that she lit a kerosene lamp which either exploded or she fell with it in her hand and the fire ignited her clothing. Mrs. Thompson, who had passed nearly all her life at Redfield, was the daughter of James Petrie, who settled in the town of Redfield many years ago, coming from Scotland with his family and where the victim of the fatality was born. She was the widow of George Thompson, prominent Redfield farmer who died about 15 years ago. A few years ago she made her home in Pulaski with the family of her brother, the late William Petrie. Ledyard, 74, occurred yesterday, following a short illness. She was born May 16, 1852, in the town of Albion and later came to this village where she passed practically all her life. She was a member of Pulaski Grange 730 Patrons of Husbandry. Surviving are three sons, Thomas Wilder, Sandy Creek, William M. Wilder and Charles D. Wilder of Pulaski, and a daughter, Mrs. Raymond W. Miner, who with her husband, lives at the Ledyard home on the Rome Road. Funeral services will be conducted at the home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. E. H. Scott, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church. Burial will be made at Pulaski cemetery.

15671 Newspaper Obituary - Monday Evening, July 22, 1912 Utica Herald Dispatch - Little Falls - Injuries Were Fatal - Horace Horr of Manheim who was struck in the abdomen with an evener Friday afternoon while at work on the Floyd Goodell farm, operating a hay fork with a team of horses died from his injuries. The whiffle tree snapped when Mr. Horr was only a short distance behind it and the broken part struck him with great force. He was removed to the home of his brother, Isaac Horr, and Dr. Smith was summoned. The ambulance was sent for Saturday morning to bring Mr. Horr to the local hospital, but he passed away before this could be done. The deceased was 42 years old and had always worked as a farmer in this section, except for being employed a short time by the Richmond Coal Company of this city. Mr. Horr is survived by two brothers, Isaac and Frank of Manheim and three sisters, Mrs. William Burns of Syracuse, Mrs. John Crouse of Oppenhelm and Mrs. Charles Mosher of Philadelphia. 15674 Newspaper Obituary - Monday June 14, 1915 Wilkes-Barre Record - Wilkes-Barre - Miss Verna Cotton Dies - Miss Verna Cotton, aged 21, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Cotton, a junior at Wellesly College, died Saturday night of diabetes, at the family home, 186 South Grant street. Her condition did not become serious until Thursday, although she was forced to remain from college during the past winter on account of her ill health. Miss Cotton was born in Parsons, in 1894, and came to tthis city with her parents when a baby. She attended the public schools and in 1910 graduated from the local high school, where she was an active member of the Sorosis Society. She took two post-graduate courses in high school and in the fall of 1912 entered Wellesley College. She was also a member of the Grant street Presbyterian Church and Sunday school. 15686 Newspaper Obituary - Monday, April 9, 1973 The Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Parish - Car Leaves Road - Pulaski Area Youth Dies In Rt. 81 Crash at Cicero - Cicero - An 18-year-old Pulaski area youth was killed early this morning when his eastbound sedan left Interstate Route 81 a tenth of a mile east of the northbound ramp of Interstate Route 481 in the Town of Cicero and overturned. Pronounced dead on arrival at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital, Syracuse, in the NAVAC ambulance from North Syracuse was Edward R. LaPoint, son of Lt. Col. Robert F. LaPoint, U. S. Army retired, and Florence I. LaPoint of Route 3, Pulaski RD 1. An autopsy was ordered by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner, Dr. Martin F. Hilfinger Jr. to determine cause of death. Trooper Pail M Ammerman of North Syracuse Zone Headquarters headed the investigation, reporting that at 1:30 a.m. the youth was operating a four-door sedan owned by his mother when the car skidded sideways approximately 150 feet at the Route 481 northbound entrance ramp, catapulting over a guard rail. It was airborne, hitting 50 feet down and then bouncing 30 feet flipped over, landing upside down and then bouncing 30 feet beyond before finally landing on its roof after rolling over. The driver was wearing his seat belt, investigators said. Assisting in the investigation were Trooper S. E. Weidman and Sgt. L. P. Kettenhofen of the North Syracuse Zone Headquarters. The youth's father owns and operated the Chedmardo Store and Campsite on Route 3 near Selkirk Shores State Park. He was born August 20, 1935, in Stuttgar, Germany where his father, Lt. Col. Robert LaPoint was stationed. His mother was the former Florence Partrick. In June 1972 he graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School and was then employed at the Duell Saw Mill at Demster. The past three months he had been a coil assembler at Carrier Corp., member of Local 527, Sheetmetal Workers Union and of the Mexico Presbyterian Church, racer at the State Fair Grounds. He was active in the PACS school band. Last winter he was a professional snowmobile racer in Syracuse and was a member of the U. S. Snowmobile Association. Besides his parents he is survived by a twin brother, Charles David, another brother, Donald J., 13, and a sister, Mary Lou LaPoint, 17, all at home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home here, the Rev. Elmer Ellison of Mexico Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery. 15695 Newspaper Obituary - Monday, December 14, 1936 - The Salt Lake Tribune - Salt Lake City, Utah - Dr. Ernest E. Laubaugh - BOISE (AP) - Dr. Ernest E. Laubaugh, 49, outstanding diagnostician and stat bacteriologist from 1913 to 1917, died Sunday night of lobar pneumonia. His widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Laubaugh, is a former vice chairman of the Republican state central comittee. Dr. Laubaugh was born August 20, 1887 at Shickshinny, Pa.; was graduated from Chiurgical college, now the postgraduate medical school of the University of Pennsylvania at Philadelphia, and came to Boise in 1913. He spent two years in the United States army and was discharged as a captain, in 1919. Dr. Laubaugh was the only Idaho member of the board of governors of the American College of Physicians, was a member of the American Legion and was a Mason. Besides his widow, a son and daughter survive, James E. Laubaugh, an aeronautics student at Oakland, Cal., and Lucille Laubaugh, Boise; also his mother, Mrs. Sarah J. Tallman, Boise.

Newspaper Article - Published in History of Idaho: The Gem of the Mountains Vol. 3 by James H. Hawley 1920 - Dr. Ernest Ellsworth Laubaugh, medical adviser to the department of public welfare of the state of Idaho and recognized as an able and eminent physician, was born in Shickshinny, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, August 20, 1887. His father, Elmer E. Laubaugh, is a contractor of Philadelphia, where he is still active in business. The mother, who bore the maiden name of Sarah J. Sprake, is also living. She is a native of England, while the father was born in Pennsylvania. Dr. Laubaugh of this review was reared in Philadelphia and was graduated from the Medico-Chirurgical College of that city, now the Post Graduate School of the University of Pennsylvania, completing his course in 1909, at which time the M. D. degree was conferred upon him. For eight months he served as interne at Mercy Hospital at Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and then spent eighteen months as interne in the Philadelphia General Hospital, gaining broad and valuable knowledge and experience, which is never as quickly secured in any other way as in hospital practice. He was assistant pathologist for serological work in the Philadelphia General Hospital in 1912-13 and assistant demonstrator in physical diagnosis at the Medico-Chirurgical College during 1911 and 1912. He was also assistant instructor in neurology at that college in 1912-13 and then, seeking the opportunities of the north-west, came to Boise on the 1st of June of the latter year. From that date until April 13, 1917, he was bacteriologist of the state of Idaho and resigned his position to enter the World war as a volunteer. He was called to the colors in September, 1917, and entered the United States Medical Corps at Fort Benjamin Harrison at Indianapolis, Indiana. On the 15th of November, 1917, he was transferred to Newport News. Virginia, and there remained for twenty months, being discharged on the 23d of April, 1919, with the rank of captain, having entered the service as a lieutenant. When the country no longer needed his aid Dr. Laubaugh returned to Boise and on the 1st of May, 1919, took up his duties as medical adviser of the department of public welfare and chief of the bureau. On the 5th of February, 1914, Dr. Laubaugh was married to Elizabeth C. Tallman, of Boise, and they have two children: James Elmer, born November 11, 1914; and Lucile, born February 29, 1920. Dr. Laubaugh is a member of the American Legion and he is a member of the Idaho State Medical Society, of which he is now serving as secretary. He is also connected with the Medical Reserve Corps of the United States army with the rank of captain and is in the United States Public Health Service Reserve with the rank of past assistant surgeon. Throughout his professional career he has largely been identified with scientific research and investigation, and his labors have been far-reaching, resultant and beneficial.

Kinsman, 62, of Solowy Drive, Fulton, died Tuesday, Dec 12, at Lee Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Canada, Mr. Kinsman also lived 33 years in Oklahoma City before moving to Fulton in 1990. He retired after many years with Montgomery Ward Co. in Oklahoma City. Surviving are a son, Robert J. of Oklahoma City; a daughter Tracey Comdren of Moore, Okla; a brother Russ of Hannibal; four sisters, Betty J. Beeles, Audrey M. Jenks, Anna M. Conn, and Doris E. Ives, all of Fulton; four grandchildren, five nieces and five nephews. Services will be 11 am today, Dec 18, at Young and Son Funeral Home, the Reverend Robert Hooper officiating. 15698 Newspaper Obituary - Monday, December 20, 1937 Wilkes-Barre Times Leader - Veteran Fireman Claimed By Death - Ill with complications for the past several months, James H. Sprake, veteran fireman and charter member of Elm Hill Hose Company No. 3, died Sunday afternoon at 5:30 in the family home, 55 Jeanette street. His passing is regretted by a large following of friends throughout the West Side. Born in England, 77 years ago, he came to Plymouth at the age of 15 and has since resided here. For many years he worked as a breaker boy at the Haddock No. 12 Colliery and later was employed for 30 years as a hoisting engineer for that company. For the past 17 years, Mr. Sprake was employed as a stoker engineer at the local plant of the Luzerne County Gas and Electric Company. Mr. Sprake was an active member of the Elm Hill Hose Company for many years and had served the borough for many years as chief of the fire alarm system. He was the last surviving charter member of that company. Surviving are these children: Maude and Edna, at home; Mrs. Harry K. Search, Wilkes-Barre, Mrs. R. R. Daniels, Haggerstown, Md.; one brother, Edmund T. Sprake, Plymouth and two sisters, Mrs. Emily Armitage, Buffalo, and Mrs. Sadie Allabaugh, Philadelphia. His widow died 11 years ago. Eight grandchildren and one great grandchild also survives.
