McCarthy, 817 Funston Street, Hollywood, Fla. died Saturday in a Hollywood hospital following an extended illness. His wife is the former Florence Kennedy of Plymouth. A veteran of World War 2, he was department manager at Sears Roebuck, Inc, in Trenton, N. J., many years prior to moving to Florida two years ago. Surviving in addition to his wife, are his mother, two brothers, and two sisters in Trenton. Body was taken to the funeral home, 325 Center Street, Trenton, where friends may call tonight 7 to 9. Funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10:45 from the funeral home, 133 West Main Street, Plymouth, with a Requiem Mass at 11:15 A.M. in Good Sheperd Polish National Catholic Church, Plymouth. Coon - Pulaski - Mrs. Alice Lillian Coon, 78, died Monday night at the Hubbard Nursing Home, Fernwood, where she had been a patient for the past eleven months. She was the widow of Oren P. Coon whom she married on Sep. 2, 1891. She was born Aug. 21, 1871, in the town of Orwell, daughter of Albert and Frances West. She was a charter member of the Meunder class of the Methodist Church, a member of the WCTU and a former member of J. B. Butler Post, WRC. She had always made her home in the vicinity of Pulaski. Funeral services will be held from the Taylor funeral home, Pulaski, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, by Rev. James N. Pauley. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek. Surviving are two sons, Earl, Watertown, and Howard Coon, Fulton, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, July 21, 1949 Pulaski Democrat - Mrs.Oren Coon, Pulaski, Dies Following Illness - Mrs. Alice Lillian Coon, widow of the late Oren Coon, died at the Hubbard nursing home in Fernwood, Monday evening where she had been a patient for the past 11 months. Funeral services were held from the Taylor funeral home in North Jefferson street, Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. with Rev. James N. Pauley, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial was made in Woodlawn cemetery at Sandy Creek., She is survived by two sons, Earl Coon of. Watertown, and Harold Coon of Fulton; three grandchildren, Shirley and Marilyn Coon both of Fulton, and Robert Coon, serving with the Navy in Guam; and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Coon was born in the town of Orwell, Aug. 21, 1871, the daughter of Albert and Frances West. She married Mr. Coon Sept- 2. 1891, whose death occurred in October. 1941. She was a member of the Pulaski Methodist church and a charter member of the Maunder class of that church, a member of the W. C. T. U.. and a former member of the Women's Relief Corps, J. B. Butler Post.

Born in Rome, Dec. 5, 1922, a son of Walter and Catherine Florczyk Bielewicz, he attended local schools. He married Mary E. Tilkins Jan. 27, 1951, in Rome. She died Aug. 29, 1987. Mr. Bielewicz served with the Army during World War II and received a purple heart. He was employed with Rome Cable Co. and later with Carrier Corp., Syracuse, until his retirement in 1983, after 26 years. 17006 Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, July 26, 1898 Detroit Free Press - Detroit, Michigan - Death of Probably The Oldest Man In Michigan - Howell, Mich., July 23, - Phineas Stewart, the oldest inhabitant of this county and probably the oldest in southern Michigan, died at his farm in this township yesterday, aged 104 years, 9 months and 16 days. He was born in New York and came to Michigan and settled here forty-two years ago. He has had five wives and they are all buried side by side in one lot. Has had seven children, only one of whom is living. The old man has been smart, looking after his farm work until quite recently. 17012 Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, June 28, 1910 Oswego Palladium Times - A Record Of Tragedies - Recalled by the Suicide of Peter Horr, Jr., in Phoenix. - Phoenix, June 28 - A strange record of family tragedies culminated here Saturday when Peter Horr Jr., aged sixty two, committed suicide by taking paris green. April 1st, Mr. Horr's wife dropped dead in the street. One year ago her brother, George Becker, committed suicide under almost the same circumstances as Mr. Horr, by taking paris green. He was found dead in a cemetery. Last Summer, I. Kent, a cousin of Mrs. Horr, took laudanum. The member of the family who took his life Saturday had been employed in local paper mills, but had lost his job. he leaves one son, Homer Horr, of Phoenix. The funeral was held yesterday.

Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, June 20, 1910 Madison County Leader - Morrisville, New York - Peter Horr, Jr., a well known resident of Phoenix, committed suicide Friday by taking paris green. On April 1st his wife dropped dead in the street. A year ago his brother ended his troubles by swallowing a large dose of paris green in a cemetery. Last summer his wife's cousin commited suicide with laudanum.

Peter died from a broken heart! He committed suicide a few months after his wife's death. She died at age 54. He ended his life 2 months later at age 61.

He had been in the hospital for the past eight years. Mr. Tanner was born in Stanwix Feb. 14, 1866, son of the late W. H. and Huldah Miller Tanner. Fifty-four years ago in Zion Episcopal Church he married Jennie E. Hughes. She died 20 years ago. Mr. Tanner lived in Rome all his life, except during the World War period, when he served as a sailor in the United States Merchants Marine. He had attended the First M. E. Church here, and was a member of the Tidewater Boatmen's Union. Born in Pulaski, a son of the late Adelbert and Freelove Stewart Richards, he had resided in Oswego 29 years, coming here from Watertown in 1924. He was a branch manager for Armour & Co. in Oswego. Prior to coming here Mr. Richards was an accountant in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Mr. Richards was a member of the First Methodist church and was a member of Greenpoint Lodge, F & A.M. of Brooklyn, Whango Grotto of Oswego and the Leatherstocking Club here. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anna Jicha Richards; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas M. (Lola R.) McGough, and two grandchildren, William and Thomas McGough of Oswego. Mrs. Melinda J. Ainsworth, 64, of No 4xxx James street, Eastwood, died at 2:15 o'clock after an illness of one week. She had been at the hospital only one day. Ten minutes after the death of Mrs. Ainsworth, Frank Hosler, 39, of Baldwinsville, died. He had been a patient at the hospital for nearly two weeks. Mrs. Ainsworth had been a resident of Eastwood three years and before going there to live had been a resident of East Syracuse for many years. One daughter, Mrs. H. D. Britton, and one son, William B. Loop, of Eastwood survives. The funeral will be held at the home in Eastwood at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Burial will be in Orville. Hotelling, 67, Bakersfield, Calif., died Friday in Mercy Hospital, Bakersfield, after a long illness. Funeral arrangements are with the Foster Funeral Home, Pulaski. The family requests memorial tributes be contributions to the American Cancer Society. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alice Bush Hotelling, and two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Roberta) Pursell, Walnut, Calif., Mrs. Arnold (Rosina) Manwaring, Altmar; two sons, John, White River, Vt., and James, North Syracuse, and 12 grandchildren. Born April 23, 1902, at Hermon, son of James and Viola Fleetham Hotelling, he came to the Town of Orwell 52 years ago and worked for Charles Wilder, a cattle dealer. He lived at Williamstown, 16 years, working the Rome Tie Plant and operating a steam crane for the New York Central Railroad. He then moved to North Syracuse, where for five years he was employed by the North Syracuse School System. In August 1962, Mr. and Mrs. Hotelling moved to Bakersfield, where he had worked for six years as a crossing guard for the Bakersfield city police.

17042 Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, October 29, 1889 - East Palermo - Oct. 28 - Mrs. Fayette Tudo, died at her home Saturday night after an illness of about seven months of consumption at the age of fifty years. She leaves a husband and three children - one son and two daughters to mourn her loss. Funeral services were held at Upson's Corners Tuesday. Rev. Mr. Manchester of Hastings officiated, assisted by Rev. Mr. Gardner.

Newspaper Obituary - Mexico Independent, Oct 1889 - Departed this life, Oct. 19th 1889, at her home in East Palermo, Louise, eldest child of the late Francis and Katherine Leclair and wife of Fayette Tudo, aged 49 yrs, 10 months and 18 days. She was buried from her home Tuesday the 21st,. . . Her remains were conveyed to the family lot in the Parish Cemetery and laid beside her son. She was the eldest of six children. At about the age of 20 she was united in marriage to the husband of her choice, who survives her. Four children, two sons and two daughters, came to bless and cheer their home. Frank died by the mysterious disease, consumption. For a number of months it has been evident that her days were numbered and that she must succumb to this same disease. A devoted husband and the three remaining children, besides her only remaining sister, Mrs. Pauline Dawley of Colosse, and two brothers, C.F. Leclair of New Haven and Henry, who resides in the old childhood home near Colosse, are left to mourn her loss.

17043 Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, October 31, 1939 The Winona Daily News - Winona, Minnesota - Grandma Stinson Dies at Age of 99 Following Illness - Came to Northwest With Father When a Girl of Nine Years. - Mrs. Candace "Grandma" Stinson, one of Winona's oldest citizens and a resident of Winona county since 1866, died at 12:45 p.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Irene Hahn, at 655 Huff street. She had celebrated her 99th birthday June 21 and had been ill for nine weeks. Mrs. Stinson was born at Watertown, N.Y., June 27, 1840, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gegarry, a merchant. She came to Adams county, Wisconsin, with her father when she was nine years old and spent her girlhood and young womanhood there. She was married in 1859 to Henry Stinson. Mr. and Mrs. Stinson purchased a 160-acre farm in the town of Pleasant Hill in the district then known as Stinson ridge. The venerable Winonan had celebrated her birthday Jun 27 with a birthday dinner and open house. She had hoped to live to be 100 years old. As late as June she was able to walk downtown and call on her friends. She attributed her longevity to the fact that she led a happy, normal life. Visiting friends was one of her greatest pleasures. Most person knew her only as “Grandma” Stinson. Her husband was a civil war veteran who served with the 51st Wisconsin volunteers. He died in 1904 at the age of 72. Mrs. Stinson had resided in Winona for the last 36 years. She was an active woman and oftend recalled clearly the privations of the pioneering days in Winona county. Mrs. Stinson is survived by five living children, one son and four daughters. They are Cyrus Stinson, Mrs. C. W. Lewis, Mrs. Hahn and Mrs. Frank Ives of Winona and Mrs. J. F. Karsten, Rochester. The other survivors are 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

D. Henry officiating. Preliminary services were conducted at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Irene Hahn, 655 Huff street. Burial was in Busch cemetery, Ridgeway. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Leonard and Gorden Karsten, Harry and Ralph Ives, Donald Hahn and Dewey Stinson.

Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, October 28, 1884 Jefferson County Journal - Adams, New York - The funeral of Mrs. Zerah VanWormer was held at the M. E. Church last Friday conducted by Rev. J. H. Walton. The deceased was the daughter of Phineas Stewart, an early settler of this region, who moved west twenty-five years ago and became prosperous and wealthy. Her disease was lingering and her sufferings intense as she neard the change. Many years ago she joined the M. E. Church and during the last illness received the convenants and died with Christian fortitude and resignation. Mr. VanWormer was her constant attendant, and spent many moths of almost sleepless days and nights inallevatiating her sufferings. The deceased was on terms of friendship, peace and good will with her neighbors and lived happy and content while enjoing the sweets of home life, the society of her children and the love of her ever faithful companion. She lost one son, a pensioner of the rebellion who died from diseased contracted in the service oh his country, the late Austin VanWormer, of Adams, late Co. E. 10th. N. Y. Heavy Artillery, and leaves two sons, one daughter and her husband as the survivors of the family in this place. She was buried at Maplewood, aged about 63 years.

Five brothers and two sisters died before him. Born July 7, 1936, in Sandy Creek, son of the late Carroll and Beulah Smith Caufield, he was educated in Sandy Creek schools. A life resident of Sandy Creek, he was employed by the Blount Lumber Company, Lacona, and retired in 1983 due to ill health. He married Grace A. Nutting May 18, 1957, in Boylston Wesleyan Church with the Rev. George Pattington officiating. Lawrence was born in Hungary (unconfirmed as yet). He and wife Polly were living with their eldest son, M. Horr in Little Falls in 1850. Lawrence died in March 1860 in Little Falls at the age of 90.
