Norma Lahue, 63, of Schuyler Falls, NY, passed away on January 20, 2020 at CVPH in Plattsburgh.

Norma was a wife, mother, and most of all a fantastic and committed Grandmother known as “Nana” to all 10 of her grandchildren. She spent much of her weekends opening up the house for the grandkids to run wild and be free, along with the neighborhood children who wanted to take part in the festivities. You could walk in anytime on the weekend and see piles and piles of kids’ stuff and Nana either at the stove making the traditional mac and cheese and hotdogs, or sitting at the computer playing her games, not at all bothered by the chaos.

She is survived by her siblings, George “Mike” Kinsman, Benjamin (Margaret) Kinsman, Kelley Moulton, and Kenneth Kinsman; as well as her husband Frank Lahue, daughter Mackenzie Lahue and son-in-law Robert Miles and their kids Kennedy, Angel, Emma, Jacob and Paisley; her daughter Regan and son in law Jason Finlaw and their two girls Kearah and Alaunah; and her youngest daughter Ashlynn and son in law Richard Staples and their three girls, Rowan, Bay and Averie. She is also survived by her uncle, Robert Kinsman; as well as in-laws Ronald (Jean) Lahue, Tammie (Glen) True, Brian (Tammy) Lahue, and Sherry (Hanh) Chung. She also left behind many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Sandra and George “Mickey” Kinsman, her aunt Joan (Ray) Mapes, uncle Joe Kinsman, and sister Patricia Kinsman.

Norma also had a love for crafts and showed her talent mostly through crocheting beautiful character winter hats, mittens, scarves, character baby buntings, and beautiful dream catchers. All of which reflected the love she had for the person she created the items for.

A Memorial Service will be held at Thwaits-Zaumetzer Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Reception to follow at Holy Name Parish Center.

Services were entrusted to Thwaits-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, Au Sable Forks, New York.

17804 Obituary
Ruthann (Spath)(Tanner) Walker

DOB: 04 February 1943

Died: 06 July 2023, at the family home in Pineville, in the loving hands of her husband and daughter

Born Ruthann Spath in Pulaski, NY, to parents Harold and Elizabeth (Rowell) Spath. Ruthann was educated in the Pulaski school system, then completed the Syracuse University Legal Studies Program.

Ruthann’s professional work included Human Resources at Schoeller Paper in Pulaski; Hoag & Ledden Law Office in Pulaski; Selkirk Lighthouse & Marina in Port Ontario, R. D. Ventre & Associates in Liverpool; then H. Charles Livingston & Associates in Watertown.

Ruthann was a seventeen year member of the Sandy Creek Central School Board, a charter and six year member of the NYS-DEC advisory Salmon River Corridor Committee, becoming its chair. She was a member of Eastern Star. As a legal professional, she helped many in the community to prepare for and provide through their final days. She had an abiding love for all things historic, for lighthouses, for helping anyone with interior design, for her depth of expertise in furnishings and Oriental rugs, and was laughingly known among family and close friends by her Indian name -- ‘She Who Moves Furniture.’

All said, she was the ultimate legal professional, a loving and thoroughly loved mother, wife, neighbor and friend. She was truly one of the brightest lights to ever shine in Pulaski, Sandy Creek and Lacona throughout her life.

Beginning part-time in mid-1987 through 2006, Ruthann became an increasingly more integral enthusiast, volunteer and eventual part-time employee, actively assisting in efforts to restore, develop, promote and advance the historic Selkirk Lighthouse in Port Ontario, being particularly instrumental in helping to establish, build and promote the business of providing actual accommodations in lighthouses throughout the world, now an unparalleled international success story.

Married at the Selkirk Lighthouse in 2004 to Jim Walker, she lived and remained active locally through his successive deployments to the Middle East until the opportunity arose for the two of them to live and work in Germany together for two years. Taking every opportunity to travel, the two were able to visit and enjoy more than 20 countries together during their years of a most joyous marriage.

Ruthann is survived by her adoring husband Jim; son David Tanner of Illinois with children Tori, Mariah and Jack; daughter Nicole Tanner of Sandy Creek, with children Emily and Zachary; son Evan Tanner of Maryland with spouse Amy (Sprague) with children Taylor and Thatcher; step-daughter Jacquelyn (Walker) Lambert of Maine with spouse Christopher Lambert with sons Logan and Cole.

Ruthann’s living siblings are Edwin Spath of Pennsylvania, Douglas Spath of Pennsylvania, Bruce Spath of Germany. Her brother Leon Spath of Queensbury, NY recently pre-deceased her.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.

17806 Obituary
Stephenson Richard Bellinger, Sr. (Steve), 75, of Sandy Creek, peacefully passed away at his home on November 3, 2023, under the compassionate care of Hospice of Jefferson County, and the many devoted doctors, nurses and therapists from the VA in Syracuse, NY, and Rome, NY and a special thanks to Maddie, who took such good care of him over the past year.

Steve was born on August 23, 1948, in Watertown, NY, to Donald and Emma (Thomas) Bellinger, builders and owners of the Pine Diner in Mannsville. Steve graduated from Mannsville Manor School in 1966, and he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1968. Steve knew that he would be sent to Vietnam, and was eventually sent there from 1968-1969, earning commendations for his steadfastness and bravery. After his tour in Vietnam ended, he was transferred to Fort Dix, NJ, where he met his soulmate, Michele Janis. Steve and Michele were married on July 2, 1971 in Pemberton, NJ. They were truly in love from the moment they met, and still in love, observing their 52nd anniversary this past summer.

After Steve was honorably discharged from the Army, Steve attended Mohawk Valley Community College, in Utica, NY, earning an Associates Degree in Mechanical Design and Art. He was so talented in so many ways. Steve could accomplish anything he put his mind to. He was the kindest, most considerate husband, father, brother, son, uncle in the world. He loved his family. He had integrity, and a “think outside of the box” mind. He would always say, “I can fix anything except the crack of dawn and a broken heart”. True.

He worked so hard to provide for his family. The job that he enjoyed the most was at Fort Drum, NY, completing so many maintenance projects at Guthrie Hospital and several dental clinics. He was well-loved and respected by his superiors and his co-workers. He needed no direction.

In 2009, he realized that he had health issues and retired, although it wasn’t until 2011 that Steve was finally diagnosed with a very rare type of dementia, Frontal-Temporal Dementia, Primary Progressive Aphasia, (FTD/PPA), probable Parkinson’s Disease. Early in his disease, Steve unselfishly chose to have his brain donated to the Mesulam Center at Northwestern in Chicago, IL, to hopefully help other people.

Steve had always been such a healthy, energetic, passionate person. This horrendous disease took everything from Steve’s body, gratefully sparing his beautiful soul and character.

Steve is survived by his greatest legacy, his two sons, Stephenson, Jr., and Mike (Melissa Reidy) Bellinger, and four wonderful grandsons, Nathan (21), Declan (11), Colin (9) and Cody (almost 10).

Steve is also survived by his heart-broken wife, Michele, his sister and brother-in-law, Ira & Donna (Bellinger) Learned, his brother, Donald Bellinger, Jr., a cousin, Crystal Bellinger, and several amazing nieces & nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews who were always there for him throughout his entire illness.

Steve’s grandson, Declan, was born with cystic fibrosis, a dreadful life-shortening disease. If anyone would like to honor Steve’s memory by making a donation to the CF Foundation of Central New York, (Declan Bellinger), 200 Gateway Park Drive, Bldg. C, Syracuse, NY 13212, he would have been extremely grateful.

There are no services planned. He is finally at rest in heaven after fighting the good fight.
Bellinger, Stephenson Richard (I84088)
