He was an avid sailor, mechanic, and golfer and kind companion to many stray animals including Munchkin, Spooker, Thomas and Zootfish. A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 15 at St. Mary's of the Lake Church, Ontario followed by interment in his home town of Methuen, MA. Boyd, age 75, resident of Pulaski, passed away Wednesday at Bishop Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Syracuse. Sandra was born March 2, 1947, in Watertown, the daughter of Willard and Leota Bettinger Watkins. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1965. Sandra was married to James Boyd in 1966 and he passed away in 1971. She was then married to John Jackson. Sandra owned and operated the Second-Hand Rose, a consignment shop, in Pulaski for 10 years. She was a member and sang with the North Country Choir group. She was also a former member of the Pulaski Congregational Church. Surviving, are two daughters, Stephanie (Ron) Gregie of Tallahassee, FL and Barbara (Kenneth) McCann of Fulton, Jon Jackson of Clay and four grandchildren, Kenneth J. and Kassy McCann, Jacob Gregie and Kailyne Phillips and a sister, Barbara Watkins of Oswego. Sandra was predeceased by her brother, John Watkins. A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, January 20th at the Polish Home, 153 W. 1st Street, S. in Fulton, NY. Mrs. Gayne had worked for P&C in Gouverneur and Watertown, and A&P and Great American, both in Watertown. She was office manager for Dr. Burton Silver from 1985 until January of this year. Born Jan. 7, 1944, in Ogdensburg, daughter of Ralph and Florence Westerdick Burgess, she graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1962. She married Lyle C. Gayne on June 15, 1963, in Ogdensburg and the couple lived in Richville before moving to Watertown in November 1972. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the church's Altar and Rosary Society, and volunteered for the church's bingo games and May Festival. She was an avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors. Surviving besides her husband are two sons and their wives, Robert L. and Julie, Watertown, and James F. and Leslie, Brownville; two daughters and their husbands, Lynn and Ronald Rowe and Cheri and Keith LaMarche, all of Dexter; a stepson and his wife, Lyle C. Jr. and Becky Gayne, address unavailable; two brothers, Robert and Stephen Burgess, both of Ogdensburg; four sisters, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Roach, Ogdensburg, Diana Mott, Vernon, Conn., Mrs. Ronald (Patricia) Brann, Carson City, Nev., and Mrs. Frank (Theresa) Ayers, Carmichael, Calif., eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A son, Mark V., died before her. A prayer service will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church with the Rev. Clyde A. She worked at Craftsmen Supply House for Jack Leonard for many years; she also enjoyed dabbling in upholstery work with a dear friend, Barb Martin, for a few years. But she found her true calling after she retired from Craftsmen Supply House, working in companion care with the elderly. She helped many local families up until 2020 when she made the difficult decision to step back in order to prioritize her own health. Her greatest passion was spending quality time with her family and socializing with her many groups of friends. She was a woman strong in her faith and an active member in the Catholic community. Sandy was preceded in death by her husband Skip (Irwin) Horr, her son Scott Horr, her brother Steven Kintz, and her parents Lois and Leonard Kintz. She is survived by her beloved animal companion Sweet Pea, her children, Patty (Cyril) Krebs, Robert (Andrea) Horr, Debbie (John) Tabbitas, and her daughter-in-law Barb Horr, her brother Earl (Roberta) Kintz, her sister Carolanne Hassett, her grandchildren, Christina (Cory) Banker, Megan (Tim) Dailey, Eric Barson, Krysta (Derrick) Cunningham, Joe Ferraro Jr, Deanna Horr, Samantha (Ryan) Horr, Jacquelyne Horr, Jamie and Jacob Krebs, great grandchildren, Drew, Ali, Brady, Evan, Dean, Collette, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. McChesney was born February 23, 1882 in the town of Orwell, daughter of William and Cholie Kinney Gay. She was married to Alva C. McChesney in 1904. In that year Mr. McChesney had organized the Salmon River Table Company, which he later sold but continued to work for the company as a cabinet maker. In 1927 the couple moved to Ricard and Mrs. McChesney worked at the Lattimer Chair Factory in Orwell. He died November 5, 1954. He was a retired farmer and had been sexton of Woodlawn cemetery for many years. He was also custodian of the Annie P. Ainsworth Memorial library. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday from the family home, with Rev. Selden Ward, pastor of the Baptist church officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery, with Masonic funeral services conducted at the grave by members of Sandy Creek Lodge. Bearers at the funeral were Henry Corse, Calvin B. Chamberlain, Durl Clement, Wendell Sprague, W.A. Hoag and Thomas Hamer. Born in Sandy Creek-Mr. Bumpus was born November 28, 1868 in Sandy Creek, his parents being E. G. and Justina (Sprague) Bumpus, July 3, 1890 he married Miss Nora Moore of Sandy Creek. About 1930 they sold the farm and moved to a home in the village, where Mrs. Bumpus died in April 1940. August 8, 1947, Mr. Bumpus married Mrs. Julia Brown Lynch of Syracuse, who survives; also one son Leland Bumpus of Sandy Creek; three grandsons, Burton of Gowanda and William S. and Floyd of Sandy Creek; and four grandchildren. Bonney, and grandmother of Mrs. George Corse of this village. Rev. W. Raymond Rogers, pastor of the Baptist church officiated at the Frank Bonney residence in Pulaski. Burial was in the Pulaski cemetery. Mrs. Bonney died Monday afternoon, July 31, 1939, at the home of her son, Frank Bonney, on Jefferson street in Pulaski after an illness of six months. She was born in the town of Orwell, March 10, 1856, the daughter of Rodney and Sophia Lewis. Her parents were pioneer settlers in that vicinity and Mrs. Bonney traced her lineage to Hannah Dustin, noted heroine of the French and Indian wars. Her marriage to Mr. Bonney took place at Orwell in 1873, and the couple moved to this village. Mr. Bonney died four years ago. Mrs. Bonney was a member of the First Baptist church and was active in its societies. She was a member of the Lake Ontario chapter, DAR, and of the J. B. Butler post, Women's Relief Corps. Surviving are three sons, Eugene Bonney of Syracuse, Claude Bonney, a member of the Pulaski village board, and Frank Bonney, and a sister who lives at Canastota, besides 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Bonney, died late Monday afternoon at the home of her son, Frank Bonney,chief of the Ringgold Fire Company, in south Jefferson Street after an illness of about six months. She was the daughter of Rodney and Sophia Lewis, descendents of early pioneers, and traced her ancestry back to Hannah Dustin, a heroine of the French and Indian War. She was born in Orwell, March 10, 1856, and spent her early life there. After her marriage to Mr. Bonney in 1873 she moved with him to Pulaski. He died four years ago. "She was a member of the Pulaski Baptist Church, and was active in the various church activities as health permitted. She was also a member of the Ontario Chapter DAR and the J.B. Butler Post, WRC. "She is survived by three sons, Frank and Claude Bonney of Pulaski and Eugene Bonney of Syracuse; a sister in Canastota; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edick, 78, a resident of Lacona for the past 50 years, died Monday afternoon, Sept. 15, 1969 at his home on Harwood Drive. His funeral was held Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at the family home, and was followed by 9 a.m. services at St. Francis Xavier church in Lacona. Burial was in Pleasant Lawn cemetery, Parish. Besides his widow, Mrs.Frances O'Brien Edick, he is survived by three sons, Burns, Lacona, Robert, Pulaski, and Brother Francis Mary, Bayshore,L.I.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Ann) Hazard, Lacona; a brother, Harold F. Edick, Alexandria Bay; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Born in Parish Mr. Edick was born in Parish Feb. 22, 1891, a son of Herbert and Ella Scranton Edick. He was married at Parish Dec. 13, 1910 to Miss Frances O'Brien at St. Mary's church, Altmar. After their marriage Mr. Edick worked for awhile with his father, who had a general store in. Parish. In 1914 they, came to Lacona. Mr. Edick conducted a cigar and candy business here, making cigars which he sold on the road. He also worked at Blounts, where he had charge of the shipping and flooring department. In 1934 Mr. Edick was appointed postmaster at Lacona and held the office for 27 years before retirement.
