| 19706 | Sarah W. McChesney Weed - June 27, 1786 - March 27, 1879. Daughter of John and Abigail Stevens McChesney. Wife of Eli Weed. Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, April 3, 1879 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - Weed - In this village, March 27, 1879, Mrs. Sarah Weed, aged 93 years. The deceased was born in Rupert, Vermont. She was married in the year 1809 to Mr. Eli Weed, recently deceased, and came directly to this town, first settling upon a faun located south of the place now occupied by Isaac Douglass. Educated as a tailoress, she was largely engaged in the duties of that employment, people coming even from so distant a place as Ellisburg to obtain her services for cutting and fitting garments. She was especially distinguished for her skill and industry. In early life she heard the call of her Savior, "Follow Me." It was this command that especially arrested her attention - "What is that to thee? Follow thou me." She heard it in hours of sorrow, trial, and affliction - What are all these things? What is earth, with its evanescent pleasures and sorrows, to thee? Follow thou me. She obeyed that call, and in a life of surpassing fidelity, gentleness. kindness, and uncomplaining patience and submission, she followed the meek and holy One through life, through the gates of earth up to the glories of his own dwelling place of purity, peace and love. For fifty years she has been a member of the Congregational church in this village, having united with it on a profession January, 1829, consistent, devoted, a lovely example of the patient, cheerful, winning graces of the religion she professed. In the morning after a worrisome night of suffering, she heard the same voice of love that first bid her, "Follow Me," saying, "Come up hither," and again she obeyed; and she went up "with the Angels that waited for her." Glorious exchange! The wearisome burden of earthly old age exchanged for the internal use and, immortality of heaven. | McChesney, Sarah (I63317)

After Wid died, she created a new full life for herself in Sarasota. During the depression, she learned to carry on with determination and face the challenges of severe deprivation. Later, she called on that courage and fortitude to care for Wid during the demanding years of his Alzheimer’s disease, live gracefully and fully in spite of her loss of sight, and manage her recent congestive heart failure. Hazel never gave up. A few weeks ago she said “tomorrow I will be stronger and we will go out to lunch”. ARRANGEMENTS: Burial will be in Clifton Park, N.Y., in the spring. | 19728 | Sean P. Lyng, 45, Watertown December 29, 2022 WATERTOWN, NY - Sean Patrick Lyng, 45, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022, at Samaritan Medical Center. Sean was born on Dec. 14, 1977, at Mercy Hospital in Watertown NY, son of Patrick and Judy Lyng. Sean graduated from General Brown High School in 1996. In 1999, he received his associate degree in Culinary Arts from Jefferson Community College. After graduation, he began working at Barkeaters Café in the Salmon Run Mall. Sean was hired at JT Construction in 2001. In 2006, his father Patrick Lyng wanted Sean to be his main employee, which eventually led him to take over the family construction business that he renamed SPL construction. “Your legacy is every life you touched.” Sean, also known as RED DOG, was the life of the party. Sean always had a way of walking into a room and making his presence known, while doing everything he could to make someone smile. As many people have said, Sean had a free spirit and always stayed true to himself. Whether it was right, wrong, or indifferent, Sean did things his way and you couldn’t convince him otherwise. He had a passion for football, and there was never a Sunday when Red Dog wasn’t sporting his Buffalo Bills Jersey. Sean’s hobbies included: hunting, fishing, golfing, going to casinos, and attending concerts, especially the Tragically Hip. Sean’s fondest memories were in Florida with his extended family, in Vegas, at Turning Stone, and of course, at the Good ole Lyng Manor, where many friends gathered for Texas Hold’em tournaments. Sean was also a “very” loyal member of the Watertown Elks club. Although Sean loved many things, he cared most about his family. Sean wasn’t only a member of the Lyng family, he was also a special part of the Connolly and Marra families. He never missed any special event with his loved ones. Sean’s father Pat and brother Ryan were his best friends, yet nothing compared to the bond he had with nephew/Godson Evan John Patrick Lyng. Evan was Sean’s “little buddy.” Whatever Evan wanted to play, Uncle Sean always said yes. The two of them were inseparable: playing pool, basketball, golf, and foosball. It was always Uncle Sean and Evan against the world. To Evan, Uncle Sean was famous, he was the “best builder,” and there was nobody else that could do a better jack knife off the diving board. Sean truly had one of the biggest hearts in the world and would have given the shirt off his back to anyone in need. The mark he left on this world will never be forgotten. Sean was predeceased by his mother Judy A Lyng. Surviving are his father, Patrick M. Lyng; a brother, Ryan Lyng; a sister-in-law, Chelsey Lyng; a nephew, Evan Lyng; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Calling hours will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at Reed and Benoit Funeral Home. The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Watertown Elks Club to celebrate Sean’s life following the services on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Friends of General Brown Football, 17643 Cemetery Road, Dexter, NY 13634. Online condolences can be made at www.reedbenoit.com | Lyng, Sean Patrick (I82907)
