| 20432 | Terry E Crast Obituary Terry E. Crast, 89, of Lacona, NY, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, following a brief illness. Born on February 12, 1936, at the family home on Wheat Hill in Lacona, he lived a full life rooted in hard work, public service, and deep devotion to his family. Terry began his working life as a farmer, purchasing his first tractor in 1953 — a reflection of his strong work ethic and lifelong connection to the land. He graduated from Sandy Creek Central School in 1954. A generous man with a deep love for the outdoors, Terry enjoyed spending time in the woods, hunting, fishing, attending family events, and working with tractors and sawmills — passions that stayed with him throughout his life. Recently he had become fascinated with the genealogy of the Crast family, exploring local cemeteries and historical societies to learn more about his family’s roots. He is survived by his four sons: Timothy (Teresa), Patrick (Julie), James (Sheila Dugan), and Daniel (Sheryl); nine grandchildren: Melisa (Jeremy) Nelson, Jennifer (Ron) Grinnell, TJ (Mackenzie) Crast, Jamieson (Abaigael) Crast, Jared (Lillian) Crast, Jonathan (Meghan) Crast, Kristy Crast, Chlarissia Crast, and Sierra Crast; and eleven great-grandchildren: Taylor & Paige Grinnell; Natalie, Maggie & Noah (on the way) Crast; Waylon & Stella Crast; Peter & Arya Crast; Maive Crast; and Emerson Jones.
