Newspaper Obituary - Monday, April 9, 2001 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Virginia B. Geer, 87, Monroe, Georgia, formerly of Lowville, died Friday at her home. Mrs. Geer was a homemaker and lived in Lowville until 1992, when she moved to Madison, Indiana. She moved to Monroe, Georgia, in January. She was a member of Lowville Baptist Church, serving on many of its committees, and a member of the Lowville Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. From 1995 until moving to Monroe, she attended First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Madison. Born July 28, 1913, on Horse Island, Sackets Harbor, a daughter of George and Ione Holloway Ward, she graduated in 1931 from Oswego High School. She married I. Ray Geer, June 16, 1934, at Oswego. Mr. Geer, retired New York state deputy commissioner of motor vehicles, died June 10, 1992. Surviving are a son, Dr. Bruce R., Monroe; a grandson and a great- granddaughter. Four brothers, Edward, Charles, Oswald and Frank Ward, and two sisters, Ruth Youngs and Ruby Geer, died before her. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski

Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, November 15, 1922 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Child Dies From Eating Poison Tablets - Virginia, two year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hull, of Richland, died Saturday, after eating some tablets containing strychnine, which came into its hands while the mother was out of the room. The mother was attracted by the cries of the little one and called Dr. F. E. MacCallum, but no aid was of avail and the child died in great agony. Coroner Hollis was called and he pronounced death caused by accident.

Ladd, 91, formerly of Central Square, NY passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Morningstar Residential Care Center in Oswego, NY and the family would like to give a deep sense of gratitude and thanks to all the people on wings B & C of the facility who gave Virginia such wonderful care while she was there. Virginia was born January 28, 1922 in Central Square, NY, the daughter of Ernest and Beatrice Babcock Clark. She graduated from local schools and took some college course.. Virginia married Henry Ladd and he predeceased her in 2003. They owned and operated the Ladd's Real Estate Company in Central Square for many years. She was a member of the Central Square Community Church and was a charter member of the Fuller-Taylor American Legion Post 915 Ladies Auxiliary Central Square.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Terry (Ronald) Hall of Central Square; two grandchildren, Craig (Christine) Hall of South Carolina and Denise Herholtz (Rick) of Central Square; three great-grandchildren, Corene and Garrett Herholtz of Central Square, Dustin Hall of South Carolina; a great-great-granddaughter, Kira Mooney of Central Square. She was predeceased by three brothers, Bill, Warren and David Clark; also a sister, Vera Nessmiller.

Calling hours will be held Friday, April 19, 2013 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Watson Funeral Home, 631 South Main Street, Central Square, NY and the funeral services will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery Central Square, NY. Contributions may be made to the Fuller-Taylor American Legion Post 915 in Central Square.

She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1942. Virginia married George A. Pollic Sr., on April 10, 1948, he died, July 16, 2001. She and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. Virginia served as an election inspector in Altmar for several years. Surviving: one daughter, Judy (Richard) Henderson of Pulaski; two sons, George A. Pollic Jr. of Richland, and Richard C. (Debra) Pollic of Dunnellon, FL; one sister, Ruth Larrabee of Detroit, MI; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held noon Wednesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, NY with burial in Pineville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the funeral.

Cavellier, Retired Teacher - Virginia Root Cavellier, 80, of 118 Highland Avenue, died Wednesday at New Smyrna Beach, Florida, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Cavellier was a home economics teacher at Sandy Creek and later taught at North Junior High School for 22 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Birthday Club for more than 50 years, a life member of the North Junior High School Parent-Teacher Association and enjoyed playing bridge and golf and acquiring collectibles. She had been a winter resident of Florida for 20 years. Born September 24, 1920, in Syracuse, a daughter of Guy H. and Marleah Baldwin Root, she was raised in Truxton and graduated in 1942 from Syracuse University. She married Raymond H. Cavellier on February 7, 1944, in St. John's Catholic Church, Pulaski. Surviving besides her husband are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald L., Rochester, and Timothy and Candy, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and China; a daughter, Carol Kirch, Rochester; a brother, Bernard Root, Zellwood, Florida; a sister, Jeanne Candee, Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Spring burial will be in Richland. Arrangements are with Settle- Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach. He was born in this town and has always lived on the farm where he died, and was thus the oldest resident of the town. He had been for many years a member of the Pulaski M. E. Church, and his pastor, Rev. C. W. Brooks, officiated at the funeral services. The remains of this old and highly respected citizen and native of Oswego county were deposited in the family lot in Pulaski cemetery, where his wife, whose maiden name was Maria Hough, has for many years been buried.
