This was in the days when robberies were quite frequent and bandits were plentiful, and all express cars were fortified and messengers heavily armed. The many friends of Mr. Sharp will recall the hair-raising experiences which he related from his encounters in the west. He returned to Pulaski many years ago, and has been engaged in painting and paper hanging in this vicinity, until about a year ago. | 21258 | Walter W. Weisenburger - February 4, 1908 - June 12, 1932. Son of Adam and Kathryn Frommer Weisenburger. Newspaper Obituary - Monday, June 13, 1932 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Probe Accident Bringing Death To Pulaski Man - Find No Eye Witness of Fatal Accident to Walter Weisenburger - Pulaski, June 13 - Assistant District Attorney Clarence J. Gormwn and local state troopers are investigating the automobile accident which brought instant death Sunday night to Walter W. Weisenburger, 24, son of Katherine Frommer Weisenburger and Adam Weisenburger of this village. Late Monday afternoon no eye¬witnesses to the tragedy had yet been found and no definite cause for the accident had been ascertained. The young man was killed shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday when his car and that driven by Francis Davey, Altmar, crashed head on, on the Altmar road, four miles east of here, near the Leffingwel farm. The Daveys and their five children were badly injured. Mrs. Lolita Davey, _2, regained consciousness Monday and stated their car was going east when Weisenburger's machine approaching them, seemed to shoot directly into the Davey automobile. Her son, Donald, 9, confnined this statement. Authorities believe a tire on the young man's car may have blown, swerving the machine into the other car. Notified Troopers - Charles Ellis, Syracuse, formerly of Pulaski, who had been visiting friends here, arrived at the scene of the accident first and called Trooper J. Doyle, Mr. Gorman and Dr. Fenton E. MacCallum. Weisenburger's body was thrown partially out of his overturned automobile and his head was crushed. Both cars were completely wrecked, the left side of the Dewey car and the right side of the other machine being ripped off Mr. Davey, 28, was thrown through the windshield. The Davey's were reported resting fairly comfortable Monday. Mr. Davey was taken at once to Crouse Irving hospital, Syracuse, for treatment of bad lacerations to the nose and face. The family had spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gokey, Box street, and were returning home when the accident occurred. The Lawrence ambulance was called and the mother and children were returned to the Gokey home, where they are now under treatment. The children, and the injured they suffered, included: Donald, 9, broken collarbone; Norma, 4, long scalp wound, and Billy, 6, sprained arm of which x-ray pictures were being taken Monday afternoon. The other two children, Darcy, 3, and Thelma, one and one-half, suffered only cuts and bruises. Mrs. Davey had severe shoulder injuries, contusions of the jaw and shock. Mr. Davey and the two younger children were treated by Dr. John Mason and the rest by Dr. MacCallum. Graduate of Academy - Mr. Weisenburger was a graduate of Pulaski academy. He was formerly associated with his father in a gasoline station on the Syracuse-Watertown highway and more recently was employed by the town of Richland as a truck driver. He was born in Presho, South Dakota, February 4, 1908, and moved here with his family 13 years ago. He was unmarried. The young man was an active member of Pulaski lodge I.O.O.F., and Salmon River encampment. Arrangements for the funeral are incomplete. The body was removed to Foster's undertaking rooms. Besides his parents the victim is survived by four brothers, Carl, Alfred, Emil and Woodrow, and two sisters, the Misses Edna and Della Weisenburger. | Weisenburger, Walter W (I1332)

| 21264 | Ward Brown - April 7, 1876 - January 12, 1915. Son of James and Lydia J. Soule Brown. Husband of Lida Brown. Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday Morning, January 13, 1915 The Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Farmer Found Dead In Barn Near Pulaski - Body of Ward Brown Discovered by Neighbor in Murray District - Apoplexy Probably Cause - Wife on Return from Visit in Oswego Calls Fred Blount on Phone After Receiving No Response from Home - Pulaski, January 12 - Ward Brown, 38, a fanner residing in the Murray district and about three and a half miles south of Pulaski, was found dead in his barn about four o'clock this afternoon. Circumstances surrounding the discovery indicate the victim expired late yesterday afternoon. His wife had been spending a few days in Oswego and returned this afternoon, having advised her husband she would return on the train due here at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Brown remained at the railroad station some time before she telephoned the house. Receiving no answer, she called Clarence Blount. Blount went to the Brown farmhouse and fmding no one at home went to the stables. Mr. Brown was found near the cow stanchel in a kneeling position. Deputy Sheriff Silas W. Holmes of this village was notified and he called Coroner Leroy F. Hollis of Lacona, who directed Enos & Morton, local undertakers, to take charge of the body. Coroner Hollis will reach here tomorrow morning. It is thought apoplexy was the cause of death. During the temporary absence of Mrs. Brown her husband was alone at the farm. He was seen about the place during the late afternoon and it is thought he entered the stables before dark last night, as there was no lantern about when the body was found. Mr. Brown was born and had always lived in the town of Richland, having been engaged in fanning. Surviving are his wife, a half brother, Fayette Brown of Nebraska, and several half sisters, among them being Mrs. Herbert A. Jones of Pulaski. Newspaper Obituary - Friday, January 15, 1915 The Palladium - Oswego, New York - Pulaski, January 14 - Coroner Hollis, investigating the death of Ward Brown yesterday, found a depression made by a rope on the neck from ear to ear, which indicated strangling. The funeral will be held at the home at 1 p.m. tomorrow. | Brown, Ward (I68525)

| 21277 | Warren F. Donovan - December 16, 1908 - June 23, 1917. Son of John A. and Frances E. Noyes Donovan. Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday Evening, July 3, 1917 Oswego Daily Times - Oswego, New York - It is with sadness we record the sudden death of Warren Donovan. He left his home Saturday morning, June 23, to pick some field strawberries and started to ride home with a neighbor, N. A. Gardiner. As they were crossing the track they were struck by the passenger train and both were instantly killed. It has cast a gloom over the whole community. Little Warren was a beautiful child and loved by all who knew him. He was a favorite with all his playmates. And especially in the school which he attended. The father, mother, two brothers and two sisters mourn the loss of a dear one that will ever be missed. Also an aged grandmother that is bowed down with grief. As she looked so much to him for comfort. He was ever ready in his sweet obliging way to do a favor in any way he could. Although only eight years of age he was ever on the alert to find something to do. There is the little empty chair, the vacant place in the home and at the table and a sore place in the hearts of those left in the home. We cannot understand why those things should happen. That lovely bud so young, so fair, called hence to early doom, just came to show how sweet a flower in paradise should bloom. Ere sin could harm, or sorrow shade, Death came with friendly care, this opening bud to Heaven conveyed, and bade it blossom there. Texas, New York, July 3, 1917, Ellen Howe. Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, July 4, 1917 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - In Memoriam - Little Warren F. Donovan, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. | 21281 | Wart Family, The.-It was not until the spring of 1812 that the forests of Boylston rang with the woodman's axe, it being the last town in the county to be settled except Albion, which was occupied the same year. The first pioneers of Boylston were John Wart, of Cherry Valley. and Michael Sweetman, of Montgomery county, who, un¬known to each other, came by the inevitable ox sled conveyance of that era about the same time. Mr. Wart, however, arrived two days the earlier, and was conse¬quently the very first settler of Boylston. Wart and Sweetman both located in the northwestern part of the present town of Boylston, which was then a part of Richland. It was more particularly designated as survey township No. 6 of the Boylston tract, and on the survey maps it was also called Campania. Mr. Sweetman built his cabin where the present residence of Norman Wart stands, and Mr. Wart established him¬self half a mile further east. It was two miles to another house in Lorraine, and a like distance west into Ellishurg; to the south nearly ten miles of forest lay between the two hardy pioneers and the settlement of Orwell; while on the east the oaks and hemlocks stretched in an unbroken mass to the distant valley of the Black River. In 1815 there was a heavy immigration consisting of four families. namely: Peter Wells, Martin Lillie, John F. Dean and Asa B. Copeland. They settled where North Boyl¬ston church (M. P.) now stands. Morris Wart, a younger brother of John, came in 1816, living with the latter a while and then locating in 1818 in the town of Lorraine. In 18341 he located iu the northwest corner of Boylston, adding to his purchase at various times until he had 300 acres. His wife was Phoebe Hall, of Royal Grant, Oneida county, by whom he had two sons and one daughter: Frances Ann, James P. and 0. Norman. The mother died in 1838, and Morris married Betsey Bargey, by whom he had three sons and one daughter: Phebe M.. Peter V., Alfred B. and Jere¬miah. She died in 1881. Mr. Wart served a number of years as assessor and was also poormaster. He was a member of the Mannsville Baptist church. He died in 1882. Three of his children, Frances, James P. and Alfred are in Michigan. 0. Norman Wart was born July 18, 1835, in the town of Boylston. He married Elsie Ann, daughter of Stephen Draper, born August 22, 1540, in the town of Orwell, and has two children: Clarence 11., born May 11. 18;3; and Clara V., born May 21, 1876, both of whom are teaching school. He has a farm of 100 acres devoted to general farming, and has served as assessor three years. He and family are members of the Mannsville Baptist church. It is related that about 1850, this part being settled mostly by Warts, there were iu the district school at one time twenty-five children of that name. | Wart, John (I68517)

Not sure why the obituary was printed over a month after her death. Obituary - Jefferson County Journal, September 3, 1895 LAVINIA PHILLIPS FARMER Lavinia Phillips Farmer was born in Middletown, VT., Feb. 26, 1814 and died July 30th, 1895. She moved into this state with her parents when three years of age. At the age of 15 she was converted at the M. E. Church at Belleville, being baptised by Rev M E Cook. She was a great Bible student. At age 17 years she was married to Alonzo Phillips of Rural Hill, with whom she lived until his death in 1858. She was the mother of ten children from this union, all of whom lived to adult age, except one. Four of the children survive her - Mrs. N. B. Squires, Martin and Millard Phillips and Mrs. Milo Tifft. In 1860 she was again married to Silas Farmer of Lorraine and lived there with him until 1884, when she came to live with her daughter, Mrs. Tifft, where she remained until her death. Her funeral was largely attended by her neighbors and friends. She lived a consistent Christian life and her life was spent where she could do the most good, comforting the sad and lonely, sympathizing with the afflicted and smoothing the pillow of the sick and dying, always pleasant and patient. She was buried at Woodside. Thus a sweet and noble life has gone out. She leaves a host of friends to mourn her loss. | Fillmore, Lavinna (I80064)
