| 2659 | Class of 1892 PACS Carrie Lydia Wilson Farmer - December 25, 1871 - January 21, 1919. Plot P-114. Daughter of Morris S. and Helen Wheeler Wilson. Wife of Lawrence Jones Farmer. Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 22, 1919 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Lawrence J. Farmer - A Most Devoted Wife, Mother and Friend Goes to Her Eternal Rest - It was with deep sadness that her many friends learned, yesterday morning, that Mrs. Lawrence J. Farmer had passed away. Mrs. Farmer had not been in the best of health for some time and the severe recent test of endurance and sickness in her home was more than her strength could combat and a week ago she began to decline, yet the final hour of her life with her family was not thought to be so near as it proved to be. She closed her eyes on the earthly scenes as the morning hours were just brightening with the first rays of the rising sun. Her sun went down beyond the western horizon and she went into the life where suns never set and where sorrow is not known. Carrie Wilson Fanner was born in this town, on the Wilson farm southwest of the village December 25, 1871. She lived with her family on the farm for many years. Her mother died when she was a small child but she had the love and care of one of the best of mothers in the person of her own mother's sister, Lucy Wilson, who came into the home to take the mother's place. Carrie attended Pulaski Academy being graduated from that institution and after graduation she taught several terms in the district schools about Pulaski, always with success and at work won many friends. In 1898 she was united in marriage with Mr. Lawrence J. Farmer who, with one son, James, two daughters, Helen and Mattie; two brothers, Bruce, of Rural Hill and Henry of Los Angeles and one sister, Mrs. Roy W. Nutting, of Syracuse, survive her. Mrs. Farmer was a member of the Methodist church of this village and a member of Pulaski Grange. Her son, James, has been in the medical department of the United States service, in New York, since last spring. Although he was called the usual delay in getting passes held him back until he came home two hours after his mother, who battled so hard to live until his arrival, had passed away. Mrs. Fanner was worthy of the honor she had given her by her friends and the love she received from her family. She was a mother whose devotion to her children knew no bounds and a wife who was truly a blessing to her home. She has left a legacy to her husband and friends of which it can be truthfully said none better to be given. Funeral, Thursday, 2 p.m., private but friends may call from 1 to 2. | Wilson, Carrie Lydia (I60535)

| 2667 | Class of 1893 PACS Carrie Josephine Eaton - November 22, 1872 - October 29, 1925. Plot A-93. Daughter of James A. and Sarah Ann Bohannon Eaton. Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, November 4, 1925 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Carrie J. Eaton - On Saturday last the people of this village were greatly shocked to learn of the sudden death of Miss Carrie J. Eaton, at Richmond Hill, New York, where she was engaged as a teacher in the public school No. 90. Miss Eaton was born and reared in this village. She was a graduate of the Pulaski Academy and High School, and the class of 1893. She was also graduated from the Jamaica Normal School and she also taught and devoted most of her mature years to the profession of teaching. At one time she taught in the Altmar High School and she also taught in the Pulaski Academy and High School. For the past seventeen years she had taught in the Richmond Hill Grammar School No. 90. The high esteem in which he was held by her associates was attested to the fact that the school was closed the day after her death. The principal, Professor John A. Loope, Miss Agnes Tuthill and Miss Annie Knapp, two of her associate teachers, attended the funeral, which was held at the home of her mother on Bridge street in this village on Sunday last. A short service was also held at Miss Eaton’s rooming house at Richmond Hill on Friday, October 30th. Miss Eaton was a member of the Baptist church of this village, and the pastor of that church, Rev. W. S. Warren, officiated at the funeral. She had always spent her summers in her old home and she was known to nearly everyone in the village. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Sarah A. Eaton, of this village, a brother, H. Avery Eaton, of Worchester, Massachusetts, and a sister, Mrs. W. C. Miller. While her life work has ended, its influence will continue. She was a member of one of the most important and noble list of professions, a profession in which those engaged have an opportunity to instill into the minds of the young, high ideals, and, by their example and character, to influence the lives of their pupils. No one can estimate the good that she did by reason of her example and noble Christian character. No one who ever knew Carrie Eaton ever questioned her sincerity or lofty purpose in life. She stood for that which was best and, with all, she was intensely practical. She was a loyal dependable friend, a woman who had the respect of everyone with whom she came in contact. Her life book is closed, but possibly her greatest influences yet to be felt in the lives of those to whom she was a faithful teacher. The bearers at the funeral were Frederick A. Clark, Frank P. Betts, H. Avery Eaton, Karl Eaton Miller, James Frederick Miller and William C. Miller. The following persons from out of town were present: Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Miller, Mr. Karl Eaton, and Mr. James Frederick Miller, Baltimore; Mr. and Mrs. H. Avery Eaton, Worcester, Massachusetts; Mrs. Louisa Miller Seemann, Miss Emma D. Miller, Miss Mathilda D. Miller, Miss Hattie E. Miller, and Miss Nellie N. Miller, of Utica, New York; Mr. John A. Loope, Miss Agnes Tuthill, and Miss Annie Knapp, of Richmond Hill, New York; Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Williams, Mrs. Blanche McDonald and Miss Adeline Klock, of Syracuse, New York; Mrs. W. B. Baker, of Gloversville, New York; Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Scott, of Liverpool, New York; Capt. Albert D. Nelson, of Orwell; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Ingersoll, of Sandy Creek; Mrs. Edward Barnard, of Theresa; Miss Anna Bard, Mrs. George Cole, Miss Ida Patton and Mrs. Ballard, of Mexico. | Eaton, Carrie Josephine (I55815)
