Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, December 5, 1973 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Sadie R. Peters, 80, of 7411 Bridge Street, Pulaski, died December 1 at her home. She was born April 21, 1893 at Wessington Spring, South Dakota, the daughter of Edgerton and Sarah Grant Reynolds. She attended schools there in South Dakota and moved here in 1908 where she attended the Pulaski Training Class. Mrs. Peters taught school in the Pulaski area for 17 years. She was married August 20, 1919 to Clarence A. Peters. From 1932-1945 they owned and operated a grocery store in Fernwood. Mrs. Peters was a member of the Fernwood United Methodist Church, and the W.C.T.U., the W.S.C.S., the Pulaski Civic Club and the Board of the South Richland Cemetery Association. She is survived by her husband, 2 sisters, Mrs. Mae Jackson of Pulaski and Mrs. Ruth Murray of Fernwood, as well as several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held Monday, December 3 at 2 p.m. at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home with Rev. Paul A. Zelinka, pastor of the Fernwood United Methodist Church officiating. Caufield, 95, Pulaski, died Sunday at the home of her daughter Vaughn Poidomani in Bay Port, Long Island. The funeral will be at 11 am. Friday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 7385 Park St, with the Rev. James Tschudy officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Blanche T. Caufield Library Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 764, Syracuse, New York 13208. Surviving besides her daughter Vaughn are another daughter, Joyce Gates, Pulaski; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Born in Pulaski on August 10, 1897, a daughter of Charles and Elsie Ingersoll Trumbull, she was a 1915 graduate of Pulaski Academy High School and a graduate of Oswego Normal School. She married Vernon Caufield. He died in 1972. Mrs. Caufield was employed with Pulaski Academy and Central School as a librarian until her retirement in 1966 after 15 years. Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, September 6, 1972 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Flossie M Gates Dies at Age 77 - Flossie M. Gates, of 749 Salina Street, Pulaski died on Thursday morning August 31, in Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for 3 hours. She was born August 12, 1895, in the Town of Albion as the daughter of Arthur and Amelia Montondo Morgan. Mrs. Gates graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School, Pulaski Training Class 1915. She taught school in Lehigh, Daysville, and the Port Road District School. Flossie Gates married A. Maurice Gates on October 13, 1919 and he was employed for years by the Pulaski Post Office. Gates retired in 1966. Flossie Gates was a member of the Park United Methodist Church, the Pulaski Chapter 159 of the O. E. S. for 52 years, and also secretary of the Lodge for many years. She was a member of the Rising Sun Rebecca Lodge 149 I.O.O.F. She is survived by her husband, one son, Richard M. Gates (acting Post Master of the Pulaski Post Office), one daughter, Mrs. Leo (Jane) Doran, North Syracuse and 13 grandchildren. The funeral was Saturday, September 2 at 2 p.m. from the Foster-Hax Funeral Home with the Rev. Edwin A. Potter officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Pulaski.
