Arrangements are with Summerville Funeral Home. He worked for 16 years at Schoeller Technical Papers Co., Pulaski, and owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Sandy Creek, retiring in 1982. Born Sept. 24, 1917, in Pompey, son of George and Hattie Banning Stock, he graduated from Pulaski High School. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Hutt Stock; four daughters, Vickie Stock and Linda Wart, both of Sandy Creek, and Cathy Anderson and Michele Wegzyn, both of Pulaski; three sons, George, Phoenix, Ariz., Jody, Houston, Texas, and Todd, South Carolina; a brother, Roland Stock, Mexico, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Stowell, 69, Route 3, died Saturday morning at her home after a long illness. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Foster Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Virgil H. Hager officiating. Spring burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. She is survived by her husband Charles G.; four sons, Frederic C., Pulaski, Duane C., North Syracuse, Terry A., Mexico, and Barry O., U.S. Navy, Groton, Conn.; three daughters, Joanne A. Moffett, Arlington, Va., Judith A. Workman and Gayle R. Bickerstaff, both of Pulaski; three brothers, Francis Smith and Carl Smith, both of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and David Smith, Gavely Bridge, W. Va.; three sisters, Ruth Dennie, Edna Brown and Marilyn Smith, all of Arlington, Va.; 20 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She was born Dec. 7, 1919, at Howardville, the daughter of Howard and Lila Mae Jacobson Everson. She was graduated from Pulaski Academy in 1936 and married Charles Stowell, then a freshman at Cornell University, Oct. 14, 1937. Mrs. LeRoy and her husband owned and operated LeRoy Radio and Television Service, Cortland, from 1947 to 1985. She had lived in Cortland for 71 years. Born April 4, 1920, in Altmar, daughter of Hollis and Naomi MacDonald Ellis, she graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1936 and attended Cortland Normal School for two years. She married Harold J. LeRoy on Nov. 8, 1938. He died Dec. 30, 2005. Surviving are two sons and their wives, David LeRoy and Nancy Kauhl, Harrisburg, Pa., and Paul and Sue, Manlius; a brother, John Ellis, Homer, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was the widow of Merrill Luther Colton. Born in Pulaski, NY she is survived by two daughters, Beth (Ron) Schensky and Marilyn Sovak. Also surviving are grandchildren, Eric (Mary Anne) Schensky, Jamie (Russ) Wolfe, Shawn Sovak, Ryan Sovak, Andrea Schensky, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mrs. Colton was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster. | 3494 | Class of 1936 PACS VERNON B. GAYNE SR. Watertown Daily Times (NY) - April 3, 2011 Vernon B. Gayne Sr. age 91 of Dunedin, Fla., died on March 30th at Palms of Largo. He was born in Herrings, New York and moved to Dunedin in 1985 from Watertown, New York. Vernon was a General Foreman with New York Air Brake Company for almost 40 years in Watertown. He served during WWII in the US Army in Italy. Vernon was a longtime blood donor with the New York blood bank. He was an avid fisherman, winning numerous tournaments including the "WWNY Big Bass" in New York. He enjoyed golf and was in charge of the golf league at the Golden Crest Mobile home park in Dunedin. Vernon was an avid white tail deer hunter in the Adirondack Mountains in New York. He coached his four sons in baseball and softball, while also encouraging and guiding his two daughters through nursing school. Among his many accomplishments, he designed and built a cottage for his family on Guffin's Bay in New York, which they have enjoyed for many years, and is still in the family to this day. Vernon was a devoted husband for 62 years to Dorothy until her death in 2001. His daughter Diane died in 1976. He is survived by his son Vernon Jr. and his wife Nancy of Largo; daughter, Renee May and her husband Michael of Webster, NY; son, John and his wife Mary Ellen of Safety Harbor; son, Bruce and his wife Jo Anne of Adams, NY and son Michael also of Adams, NY.; also 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 3rd at 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, located 1320 Main Street, Dunedin. A Funeral Mass will be on Monday, April 4th at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, located at 750 San Salvador in Dunedin. Paul was born, November 6, 1918 in Pulaski, the son of Clayton and Mae Price Ingersoll. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1936. Paul was employed by Cross’s Market in Pulaski for a few years before he joined the United States Army in 1941 and served until 1945. He graduated from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1949, and was employed by Carrier Corporation for 34 years, retiring in 1983. Paul was a member of the Syracuse Rose Society, the Institute of Retired People a Community Initiative of Syracuse University, and a former member of the Syracuse Opera Club. Her husband was a Lieutenant Commander in the US Coast Guard for 33 years. She was employed as a waitress for many years at Seeley’s and Draco’s Restaurants. Surviving is one daughter, Julie (Donald) Maxwell of Winston, OR; her sister, Shirley Ouderkirk of Redfield, NY; and daughter in-law, Suzanne Ostrander Kochanowski of Rome, NY; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. | 3500 | Class of 1936 PACS OBITUARIESShow Details Tampa Bay Times (FL) - September 11, 2012 LITTS, Robert E. "Bob" 96, of Pinellas Park, died Monday, Aug. 27., 2012. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Eldridge; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was born in Richland, NY on Dec. 20, 1915. He was the second of three sons of the late Fredrick and Edna (Vanderbilt) Litts. Predeceased by brothers, Donald and Clarence. Bob was a retired independent contractor and he served for 17 years as a volunteer fireman in his hometown of Pulaski, NY. He moved to Florida after a fishing trip to Key West. Fishing, gardening & shuffleboard were Bob's primary recreational interests, in Florida. Bob's father introduced him to the game of competitive shuffleboard and he became an elite player who won first place in many state and national tournaments from 1962 to 1985. He was a six-time winner of the Florida Shuffleboard Master's Championship and he was inducted into the Florida Shuffleboard Hall of Fame in 1974. When Bob was twenty-one, he rode his brand new Indian motorcycle from Buffalo, NY to San Francisco, CA and throughout the northwest. He also traveled extensively in Mexico. Later, he spent several years mushing, traveling by dogsled, around the arctic. He enjoyed telling stories about his western travels and his arctic adventures. Bob's love of life & his friendly and helpful ways will be missed by his family, friends & neighbors.
