| 8803 | Daniel was born in Ireland and came to Oswego, NY with his parents about 1874. Daniel later moved to Watertown where he owned and operated Watertown Boiler works. He died suddenly at his home 523 Mohawk St. in Watertown. LarryC writes about the D G Corbett Boiler Works; "Daniel G Corbett was my great-grandfather. He was born in Ireland in 1867 and emigrated with his family in 1874. He attended school in Oswego, NY, and after leaving school, learned boilermaking, possibly under the employ of the Kingsford Starch Company of Oswego. By 1891, Daniel was in Watertown, where in 1892 he married Josephine Lagoe, of Redfield. They built a home at 523 Mohawk Street, Watertown, where they raised 6 children. In May, 1911, Daniel was one of the charter members of the North Side Improvement League and served on its first board of directors. On July 25, 1911, Bobby Leach, a pool hall operator from Watertown became the second person, and the first male, to intentionally go over Niagara Falls in a barrel. Bobby's barrel, as family lore will have it, was a salvaged boiler which was made watertight by Bobby's friend and neighbor, Daniel G. Corbett. In November, 1911, Daniel was elected as Alderman on the Watertown Common Council, where he served one two-year term. On September 14, 1915, Daniel G. Corbett filed a certificate of assumed name, allowing him to conduct business as the Watertown Boiler Works. Mr. Corbett constructed a plant at 941-9 West Main Street (The building shown in the photo). Previous to establishing this business, Daniel Corbett had been an employee of the former Watertown Steam Engine Works, on Vanduzee Street, until they ceased to do business in 1915. He had last been employed as a foreman in the boiler department of the Steam Engine Company, and was known throughout the area as an expert boilerman. With the formation of the Watertown Boiler Works, Daniel Corbett assumed the repair and warranty work for the Steam Engine Company's product, both portable and stationary. He continued in business for 12 years and sent crews throughout the North Country maintaining and repairing boilers in manufacturing concerns and other businesses. The Watertown Boiler Works won the contract for, and built, the standpipe (water tower) which stood in Thompson Park until the 1970s. Daniel was a great supporter of education, and presented a petition in 1924 to the Board of Education for the replacement of the outdated and antiquated Mead Street School. He never lived to see the new school, which was not built until the summer of 1959, when a dozen or more of his great-grandchildren had already been graduated from the old school. In the election of 6 November 1924, Daniel Corbett received one vote for State Senator when his name was written in, reported as the only write-in in the entire city that year. In the summer of 1928, Great-grandpa became greatly ill from the 'indigestion' which had bothered him for some time forced him to retire. His business was foreclosed on and on December 1, 1928, the building was sold at public auction to J. McCormack for $6100. He died on March 9, 1929 and is buried in Glenwood Cemetery." | Corbett, Daniel George (I48633)

A celebration of life will be held Thursday June 7, 2012 from 1:00P.M. until 4:00P.M. at the Nolan Pickett V.F.W. Post # 5621 of Liberty, Texas. Cremation services under the care Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson, Texas The following was written by Drew Burdett - with help from his father - read at his mother's memorial service in Liberty, TX June 7, 2012. My Mother's parents were both from Fall River Massachusetts, They dated for five years while her Dad put himself through college. In 1967, after college they were married and moved to Rochester, New York where her Dad worked for Kodak. They hahad a daughter Michelle born in 1968. My mother wrote in a biography for a school paper that before she was born her parents were expecting a boy and had the name Daniel Jeffery picked out - they found out at her birth in 1973 that she was a girl - so they changed the name to Danielle, with no middle name. My mother wrote about many issues in her early life that she carried with her always and struggled with letting go. However, nothing in the past affected her love of being the best mother to me. To me she was the worlds greatest and everyone that saw the two of us together could see that she cared and loved me more than any mother could. My father tells me how happy she was when I was born and how fortunate I was to have such a caring, loving and sensitive mother. When I was in pre-k my mother was the teacher at the catholic school I went to. My mother loved animals, especially her dogs (Ky, Penny, Ty, Tica and especially Skylar). Any dog she saw on the side of the road or abandoned, that didn't have a collar, she would take home, fix them up, and help them find a new home. She always liked cleaning and never liked having a cluttered house. Sometimes I would leave my toys on my dresser and I would come hhome from school and they would be put away in storage totes. She was always smiling and laughing and loved hearing me tell her jokes. She enjoyed listening to the stories I wrote for school and was always after me about my grades. When we did my homework together she would use a calculator to check my work, I sometimes would surprise her and get the answer before she could on the calculator. My mother loved waterfalls and nature, but just not the mosquitoes. If a mosquito landed on heher she would run inside. She also loved birds, especially blue birds, the state bird for New York. If you saw a bird she could tell you what it is. There are so many other things about my mother that everyone should know and I wish she was still here today so I could hear her last words to me once more - “BYE, I LOVE YOU " | St.laurent, Danielle (I13913)

| 8841 | David Bentley - February 10, 1797 - July 3, 1878. Plot B-268. Husband of Susannah Bennett Bentley. Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, July 11, 1878 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - In Pulaski, July 3, 1878, after an illness patiently borne, David Bentley passed gently away. Mr. B. was born in the town of Milton, Saratoga county, February 10, 1798, and had therefore reached the good old age of 81 years, 4 months and 23 days. He was the second in a family of seven brothers. The most of them have been prominent citizens of this section of the country. Only two now survive, Otis, the oldest and the occupant of the family homestead in Saratoga county, and Stephen, a resident of Sandy Creek. When a young man, Mr. B. came to Sandy Creek and taught school a few seasons, but did not locate permanently. During that time, however, his acquaintance with one of his pupils ripened into an attachment, and on the 14th of October, 1822, he was united in marriage to Miss Susan Bennett. To them was granted what falls to the lot of but few wedded couples. Before death separated them they had seen their golden wedding day pass by more than half a dozen years. Several years of their wedded life were spent at his old Saratoga home, and of the children now living, three Addison and Otis Bentley, and Mrs. Charles Hinman, were born there. About 47 years since they removed to Sandy Creek. After a few years residence there they came to this place. Pulaski was their home until Mr. Bentley's death. He built the house in which he died, having occupied it for more than forty years. From it he was borne to his "long home," followed by many neighbors and citizens who respected his moral worth, and by a large concourse of relatives who cherish the memory of a kind and devoted husband, a gentle and loving father, and a firm and faithful friend. | Bentley, David (I71430)
