Born June 30, 1917, in the town of Ellisburg, daughter of Arthur and Mae Edmonds Davis, she attended Mannsville-Manor Central School. She married Donald B. Clark on July 3, 1935, in Pulaski. The couple lived on MacDonald Hill Road in the town of Ellisburg. Mr. Clark, a self-employed carpenter, died Aug. 1, 1984. A marriage to Morris VanCamp ended in divorce. Surviving are three sons and their wives, Richard D. and Cora, Oswego, and Gerald A. and Catherine and James G. and Sheila, all of Sandy Creek; two brothers, Donald Davis, Mannsville, and Dennis Davis, Ellisburg; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Clyde, Uhlan and Omar Davis, died before her. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with the Revs. Loren Widrick and Andrew Gingerich officiating. Burial will be in Ellisburg Cemetery. Dorice was born June 12, 1926 in Evans Mills, NY to Nelson and Inice (Carpenter) Tousant. She was educated in LeRay and Black River Schools. She married John E Weed April 18, 1943 he died in 1976. She later married David Stewart May 12, 1984 at North Mexico Methodist Church he died in 2007. They lived in Mexico, Maple View and Lacona. Dorice was an Executive Housekeeper at Hotel Syracuse for 15 years and later worked for NYS DOT in Mexico for 10 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Cable Trail VFW auxiliary #8534 and Robert Edwards American Legion Post #358. She enjoyed reading and crocheting and even though she never got her pilots license she was proud to have soloed in an airplane. She is survived by her children; Donna Tousant (Mike Cooper), Jerome Weed (Linda), grandchildren; Steven Cooper (Miranda), Stephanie M Weed, Jensen E Weed; Great grandson Myles Cooper and many nieces and nephews and had many friends. Dorice was predeceased by her husbands John Weed and David Stewart, a son Nelson E Weed, grandchildren Darren Weed, Nelson E Weed II and Jeffery A Weed. On Jan. 17, 1946, she married Edward Gareau in Notre Dame Church in Malone. He predeceased her on Dec. 13, 1973. Mrs. Gareau had worked at Tru-Stitch in Malone and later for the Alice Hyde Hospital in the laundry department. She retired in 1985. Surviving are five sons, and four daughters-in-law, Lloyd and Sally Gareau of Baldwinsville, Steven and Mary Gareau of Ogdensburg, David Gareau of Malone, Edward and Michelle Gareau of Baldwinsville, and James and Patricia Gareau of Westville; a daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Roland Paquin Jr. of Moira; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Turner Brown Beach of Sackets Harbor, NY passed away at home in the loving care of her family and longtime family friend, Mary Corboy, on Monday, January 21. She was born on June 21, 1928, the longest day of the year (her mother always said), to Frank Turner and Ethel Dawley in Orwell, NY. She grew up in Bennets Bridges and began school in the Powerhouse District. She was a member of the Pulaski Academy class of 1945 and Oswego Teacher's College class of 1948. Doris was a kindergarten teacher, first in Holland Patten for 4 years, and then in Sackets Harbor where she retired in 1981. She was a member of The United Presbyterian Church of Sackets Harbor where she served for several years as a Deacon. Doris was a great lover of music and often played the piano for friends and family in her home. She was an avid sports fan, and began every day with a cup of coffee in one hand and the WDT sports line-up in the other. She saved everything, and forgot nothing. Her sense of humor kept her family and friends smiling through out the years. She married David Brown in 1951; the marriage ended in divorce. In 1971 she married Milton Beach, who passed away in 1997. She is predeceased by 5 siblings: Charlotte, Robert, William, and Frances Turner, and Janet Stamps; and one grandchild: Michael Jenkins. She is survived by 7 Children: George Brown of Kenai, Alaska; Jo Ellen Johnson and her husband Michael of Chugiak, Alaska; Stephanie Cring and her husband Harold of Sackets Harbor, NY; David Brown and his wife Dawn of Chamount, NY; John Brown and his wife Michele of San Diego, California; Deborah Wiley and her husband Donald of Sackets Harbor, NY; and Dana Beach and his wife Sandra of Watertown, NY; 20 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Born in 1920 in Pulaski, daughter of Roy and Florence Halsey, she was adopted at the age of 3 weeks by her uncle and aunt, W.D. and Della Pond, following the death of her birth mother from the flu. She attended and graduated grade and high school in Adams Center. She later graduated, in 1940, from Potsdam Normal School and in 1964 from SUNY Oswego with a bachelor's degree. She also did graduate work in library science at Syracuse University. She married Paul G. Benoit, then a lieutenant in the Army, on July 26, 1941. He died January 26, 2003. Mrs. Benoit was a member of Order of Eastern Star, where she served as R.W. grand chaplain for the state, and was a hospice volunteer for a number of years. Surviving are two sons, Philip, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Douglas, Phoenix; two daughters, Judith Cole, Burlington, Vermont, and Sue Benoit Miller, Pittsford; four grandchildren and a great-grandson. She moved to Rochester and then Albany in 1934. Dorothy was a kindergarten teacher at School 19 in Albany and retired after 32 years. She moved with her sister to Pillar Point in 1974. She was Teacher of the Year, was President of Childhood Education in Albany and a member of Business and Professional Women, belonged to a sorority, was a piano accompanist for a Quartet, was a member of Order of Eastern Star in Albany, belonged to a women's group on Pillar Point, National Needlepoint Guild, Retired Teachers Assoc., and enjoyed woodworking and making cabinets for her home and hooked rugs. She is survived by her sister G. Irene Tanner of Dexter and several cousins. A funeral service will be held Friday 12:00 at the Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward C. Mandigo and devoted mother of Richard (Paula) Mandigo of Albany, NY and grandmother of Stephen Mandigo of Saratoga Springs, NY. She was predeceased by her loving daughter Mary Morrison of Sidney, NY., her husband, Edward C. Mandigo, parents and two brothers. She devoted 69 years of marriage to her husband and family, and was well loved by her friends and community. She never lost her sense of humor and her friendliness, and was devoted to her faith and church. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home 737 Chenango St. Port Dickinson, NY 13901, burial will be in the Chenango Valley Cemetery at the convenience of her family. Giddings, 81, formerly of Redfield, died Friday at Sunrise Nursing Home, Oswego. Mrs. Giddings was a homemaker. Born June 26, 1926, at Redfield, daughter of Wallace and Harriet Joyner Lyons, she graduated in 1946 from Sandy Creek High School. She married Omer E. Giddings on Aug. 30, 1946, in Redfield. The couple lived in Redfield all of their married life. Mr. Giddings died Jan. 11, 1994. Mrs. Giddings lived in Orwell for three years before moving to the nursing home in 2000. Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Penny and Allan Miller, Orwell, LuAnn and George Burnham, Watertown, and Connie A. Town, Syracuse, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Gay Lynn, died in a car accident July 1, 1965, at age 9. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Orwell United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Snyder officiating. She married Mr. Cobb Nov. 21, 1940, in North Pharsalia. The couple moved to Ellisburg, where they operated a dairy farm on the Farm to Market Road south of Ellisburg. In 1955, they moved to the Loren Johnson farm on the Machold Road. They purchased the farm in 1961 and had lived there since. Mrs. Cobb was a member and former chaplain of the Jefferson County Firemen's Auxiliary and a charter member of the Ellisburg Firemen's Auxiliary. Born July 23, 1918, in Belmont, a daughter of Clarence and Margaret Connor Drown, she was a 1936 graduate of Franklin Academy and married Donald Santy. He died before her. She married Paul J. Gareau on June 22, 1962, in Alburg, Vt. Mr. Gareau died Dec. 9, 1988. Mrs. Gareau was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. Surviving are a daughter, Lynda Santy Norcross Jones, Malone; a stepson; three stepdaughters; a sister, Kathryn Beck, East Syracuse, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Herman and Sherman Drown, and five sisters, Ella Beck, Rae Skurka, Hazel Machabee, Marietta Ewald and Florence Drown, died before her. A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at Notre Dame Church with the Rev. Bill Edwards officiating. Spring burial will be in the parish cemetery.
