    • Newspaper Obituary - March 17, 2007 Syracuse Post Standard - Shirley Vantassell, 79, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday with her daughters at her side. A life resident of the Syracuse area, Shirley volunteered at the VA Medical Center, Catholic Charities, and also worked as a lunch lady at Fraser School. Shirley is predeceased by a son, Ted (2001) and her husband, James (2002). She is survived by her two daughters, Theresa (John) Mallore and Delores (Mark) Sposato; and three granddaughters, Stephanie and Nicole Sposato and Alix Mallore. Services will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners.
