Newspaper Obituary - Monday, July 24, 1950 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - Jesse E. Burdick, 74, long a leader in providing better sales conditions for dairymen, one of the organizers and directors of the old Dairymen's Protective Association, fore-runner of the Dairymen's League, and treasurer of Pulaski Dairymen, Inc., until its dissolution about two years ago, died late Saturday at the Potter nursing home, Mexico, near Maple View where he had been a patient for about two months. Mr. Burdick had sustained a broken hip when struck by a cow on his farm in the southwest section of Albion. He was hospitalized for some time in Syracuse and had never been in good health since the accident a little over a year ago. Besides his activities in Dairy circles he was an active member of the Fernwood Baptist Church being especially interested in mission work, home and foreign. He was born in Fernwood July 10, 1876, son of Brayton and Mary E. Perry Burdick. He attended the old Pulaski Academy when it was a boarding school and on graduation taught in several district schools before becoming associated with his father in farming. He has no immediate relatives. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fernwood Baptist Church by the Rev. Richard Cowley, pastor, and burial will be in Willis Cemetery, Fernwood.
