Michael D. Staring, 35, of 365 Lehigh Road died Saturday at Lewis County General Hospital of injuries suffered in a snowmobile accident.
Mr. Staring was born in Oswego and lived in Pulaski since 1986. Before that he lived in North Syracuse, Liverpool and Parish. He was a 1978 graduate of Phoenix High School. He served in the Navy from 1978 to 1981.
Mr. Staring was an electrician two years with Piffer Electric Co., Oswego. He also worked at Gaylord Brothers and Borden Inc., both in Syracuse. He was a member of Robert Edwards Post 358, American Legion, and Cicero United Methodist Church.
His wife, the former Caroline Docherty, died Jan. 9, 1994, also of injuries suffered in a snowmobile accident.
Surviving are his fiancee, Jodi L. Babbitt of Mexico; three daughters, Michelle A.M., Connie J. and Heather L., all of Pulaski; his parents, Clifford and Ada Staring of Shanks, W.Va.; three brothers, Roland L. and Eric K., both of Parish, and Clifford L. Jr. of Sloanville; four sisters, Sandra Taylor of Tucson, Ariz., Sharon McPherson of Parish, Denise Zierke of Norfolk, Va., and Greta Amico of Fulton; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry officiating. Spring burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
