- TURIN NATIVE DOROTHY E. HIGBY DIES AT 75

Dorothy E. Higby, 75, Old Mexico Road, died Friday evening at Sunrise Nursing Home, Oswego.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Pulaski Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Richard Bennett, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park St.
Surviving are six sons, Willard E., Sandy Pond, Gerald F., Adelbert E., James J. and Douglas D., all of Pulaski, and John W., New Haven; three daughters, Sandra Tidwell, Pulaski, Janet Banks, Sparrowbush, and Mary Ellen Staffan, Fairport; a brother, Edwin Hill, Turin; a sister, Betty Farr, Turin; 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Born on Dec. 5, 1919, at Turin, daughter of Edwin and Cora Bacher Hill, she graduated from General Martin High School, Glenfield, in 1937.
She married Willis O. Higby on July 23, 1938, at Turin with the Rev. Dr. Alfred M. Ellis, then pastor of the Turin Presbyterian Church, officiating. Mr. Higby died June 30, 1969.
Mrs. Higby resided in the Turin area until moving to Pulaski in 1946 and was employed by General Electric Co., Syracuse, for several years.
She was a member of the Pulaski Wesleyan Church and a former member of the Pulaski chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pulaski Grange and Pulaski Home Bureau.
