- Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, September 8, 2004 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Elmer L. McNitt, Oil Company Employee - Elmer L. McNitt, 85, formerly of Pulaski, died Monday in Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown. Mr. McNitt last worked for Dunbar Oil, Richland, and had also been employed by Hollis Farms. He lived in the Pulaski-Richland area most of his life. He was a former member of Richland Fire Department. Born October 5, 1918, in Boylston, son of Leon and Reda Holley McNitt, he attended Sandy Creek schools. He married Belva Twitchell on September 12, 1939. She died August 4, 1952. A marriage to Beverly A. Nutting ended in legal separation. She died January 1. Surviving are four daughters, Susan Barrett, Zephyrhills, Florida, Donna Case, Sackets Harbor, Dianna Busler, Blossvale, and Kathleen Senzamici, Anchorage, Alaska; three sons, Elwin, North Syracuse, Gary, Pulaski, and Robert, Mannsville, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren. Two sons, LeRoy and Daniel, and two brothers, Leland and Rex, died before him. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
