- Archie R. Moler
Archie R. "Dick" Moler of Sykesville and formerly of Dundalk, died Saturday,
Nov. 13, 2004, at Lorien Nursing Center, Mount Airy.
Born Aug. 3, 1920, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Archie C. and
Leviah Pumphrey Moler. He was the husband of the late Thalia McGaha Moler.
He had served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the
American Legion and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
He was a steel worker and had retired from Bethlehem Steel in 1982 after 50
years of service.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Lucretia Moler-Beach and Donald Beach
of Florida, Dawn D. Back of Sykesville and Rhonda and Marty Singley of
Sykesville; brother Donald B. Moler of South Carolina; sisters Eleanor Cavanaugh
of Colorado and Charlotte "Babe" Weet of Upper Marlboro; 11 grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his children, Richard Molar and Linda Higby.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416
Sykesville Road, Sykesville, with Rev. Roger Rinker officiating. Interment is in
Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge.
