Edith E. Wilton, 87, of 618 County Route 13, died Thursday at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
Born April 19, 1911, in Parish, daughter of Charles and Ella Chapman Barnes, she was a homemaker and had lived in Boylston since 1952.
She married Wesley M. Wilton on May 30, 1950, at Central Square. Mr. Wilton, a retired carpenter, died Nov. 30, 1989. A previous marriage ended in divorce.
Mrs. Wilton was a 37-year member and past president of Veterans of Foreign Wars Cable Trail Post 8534 Auxiliary, Lacona.
Surviving are two daughters, Delores Beamer, Mattydale, and Barbara Johnson, Mexico; a stepdaughter, Gerry Fitzpatrick, St. Augustine, Fla.; three sons, William C. Horth and James B. Horth, both of Boylston, and John A. Horth, Pulaski; a sister, Mae Gibbs, Pulaski; a brother, Robert Barnes, Fulton; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with her grandson, the Rev. Jim Horth, Sandy Creek, officiating. Burial will be in Wesleyan Cemetery, Lacona.
A calling hour will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
