- Newspaper Obituary - February 24, 1986 Banner Times - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Melva Howlett, 67, of Park Street, Pulaski, died Friday, Feb. 14, 1986, at her winter home in Tampa, Fla. She was born in West Monroe and attended Sandy Creek district schools. She was married to Russell Howlett in 1950. She was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Fla., as a ward unit clerk and she was formerly employed by W.P. Grant stores. She was a member of the Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Tampa. She is survived by her husband; her mother, Mrs. Myrtle Finen of Tampa, a daughter, Myrtle Anne Armstrong of Pulaski; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Arlo Finen of Tampa, and Paul D. Finen of Riverview, Fla.; and one sister, Mrs. Viola Alexander of Zephyrhills, Fla. One son, David Howlett, died in 1981. Services were held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 in the Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Church, Pulaski, with President Robert Breckenridge, pastor, officiating. Spring burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
