    • Newspaper Obituary - November 23, 1989 Syracuse Herald Journal - Albert L. Howlett, 81, of 154 Peck Ave. died Monday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. A native of Saquoit, Mr. Howlett lived in Syracuse most of his life. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Howlett was a retired sexton for James Street United Methodist Church, where he was a member. Mr. Howlett was a member of Eastwood American Legion Post 1276, where he served as the bar steward and finance officer. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are three sons, Richard of Toms River, N.J., Sheldon of Covington, Tenn., and Harold of Syracuse; a daughter, Mildred of Highland Ranch, Colo.; a brother, Russell of Oswego; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at James Street United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the education fund of James Street United Methodist Church, 3027 James St. Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James St., has arrangements.
