    • Newspaper Obituary - December 31, 2003 Times Telegram (Herkimer, Little Falls, NY) (Published as Evening Telegram, The (Herkimer, NY)) - Worked as an operating engineer and wage investor. NORTH PORT, Fla. - Ronald J. Young, 70, of North Port, Fla. and Alexandria Bay, formerly from Tully, passed away Dec. 12, 2003. He was born July 3, 1933, son of Ralph and Mable Horr Young in Fairfield. Mr. Young was employed as an operating engineer, IUOE Local 545 in Syracuse. He was also employed as a wage investigator for the New York State Labor Department until his retirement in 1999. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956. Survivors include his wife, whom he married Aug. 22, 1959, Barbara Ryan; daughter, Ellen (Donald) Nash of Ballston Lake; sons, Robert Young of Greene and Richard (Karen) Young of Mistley, England; sister, Virginia Maxwell of Hurleyville; grandsons, Shawn Nash, Connor Nash and Joshua Young; granddaughters, Brianna Young, Mary Young and Molly Young; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Young was predeceased by his parents and brother, Harold Court. Memorial services will be held in the springtime in New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cortland Memorial Hospital Foundation, 34 Homer Ave., Cortland 13045 or Shriners Children Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, Mass. 01104.
