    • Newspaper Obituary - December 10, 1987 Post Standard - William C. Goodness, 66, of 210 W. Fifth St. died Wednesday at Oswego Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Goodness was a life resident of the Oswego area. He retired in 1984 as an accountant from Snyder-Mackin Electric, Oswego, and previously was employed with Schaefer Electric. Mr. Goodness was a graduate of Oswego High School. Mr. Goodness was a member of the West Baptist Church. He was a life member of Local 441, Musicians Union, and played in several bands in the Oswego area. He was an avid golfer. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific, Mr. Goodness was a member of Post 268, American Legion, and Post 5885, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are his wife, the former June Shortsleeve; a son, Donald of Oswego; a brother, Francis of Utica; four sisters, Lila Schmidt of Rochester, Bethel Thompson of Utica, Dorothy Acker of Fulton and Jeanette Bullock of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chase Cemetery, Lysander. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 124 W. Fifth St. Contributions may be to the Kidney Foundation.
