He moved from High Springs to Fort White in 2005, where he was a resident. He was a retired Senior Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force and was a retired Sergeant from the Dept. of Corrections. He was a member of the Methodist Faith. He is survived by his wife, Edna H. Griffith; son, Philip J (Stephanie) Griffith, Wellington, FL; 3 grandchildren, Tiffany Griffith, Gainesville, Zachary and Haley Griffith, Wellington, FL. Visitation will be on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 from 1 to 2 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM with Brother Otis G. Evans officiating at Evans-Carter Chapel, 220 North Main St., High Springs, FL, followed by military honors graveside at High Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association ., 4510 NW 6th Place, Gainesville, FL 32607.
