- Mrs. Lena M. Clute, 89, died October 5, 1978 at the home of her son, Richard, Bridge St. after a long illness. Born in Pittsburgh, Mrs. Clute was a former Pennellville resident and had lived in Phoenix since 1928. She was the widow of E. Raymond Clute, who died in 1968. For 18 years she was employed by the cafeteria department, Phoenix Central School District. She was a member of the United Church of Christ First Congregational, and a member of the church's Mu Beta and Thalia circles. She was a former member of the Order #172 of the Eastern Star, Phoenix. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Vie Hyovalti of Ogdensburg; two sons, Grant of Roswell, Ga., and Richard; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Dann of Saranac and Miss Mary Lobdell of Watertown. Services were Sunday at Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home. The Rev.Norman E. Isaman, pastor emeritus, officiated. Burial was in Phoenix Rural Cemetery
