- Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, January 26, 1960 Utica Daily Press - Mohawk - Arthur N. Walstrom, 70, of 19 Marshall Ave., a resident of this village for the past 39 years, died yesterday in the Ilion Hospital after a short illness. Born Dec. 18, 1889, in Ilion, he was a son of Nelson and Dora Scott Walstrom. He attended Ilion schools. He married Verna Warner, Oct. 23, 1907, in Mohawk. She died in 1948. Mr. Walstrom came to Mohawk in 1921, and has lived here since. He was an assembler at Sperry Rand until his retirement in 1958, and was a member of the firm's 25 year club. Mr. Walstrom married Edith Gaylore Dec. 30, 1949, at the Mohawk Methodist Church parsonage. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Leon Walstrom of Mohawk; a sister, Mrs. Albert Van Arnam of Ilion. The funeral will be at 3 Thursday from the Graves Funeral Home at 48 E. Main St., here with the Rev. Rollo D. Pierce, pastor of the Mohawk Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home today and tomorrow at the convience of visitors.
