- Newspaper Obituary - December 9, 2014 Post Standard - Syracuse, NewYork - Michael E. Novak - December 7, 2014 - Michael E. Novak, 78, of Phoenix, NY, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday. Born on January 16, 1936 to his mother, Virginia (Terramiggi) and his late father, Edward Novak in Fulton. A graduate of Fulton High School, and served in the US Army, 1954 to 1956. A master carpenter and owner/operator of Michael Novak & Sons Home Builders. Carpenter's Local Union 12, Oswego, and Local 747, Syracuse. Life member of VFW Post 5540, Phoenix; Phoenix Rod & Gun Club; an avid golfer. Predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Kathleen F. (Milligan) in 2008; a son, Charles A. Novak in 1981; a sister, Katherine A. Geswaldo in 1988; a brother, John E. Novak in 2014. Surviving are his three children, Michael J. "Micky" (Gretchen) Novak of Phoenix; twins, Mary Ann (David) Quintal of Pennellville, and Martin Novak of Phoenix; five grandchildren, Jessica Novak, Nicholas Novak, and Nathan Novak, Steven Quintal, Katrina Quintal; one great-granddaughter, Brooke Quintal; his mother, Virginia (Terrimiggi) Novak Albino of Syracuse; a brother-in-law, Louis Geswaldo of Syracuse; a sister-in-law, Gloria Novak of Liverpool; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends. Mike was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and loved his family very much. Services are on Thursday, December 11 at 10 a.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix, with the Deacon Frank Forish officiating. Burial following in Phoenix Rural Cemetery.
