    • Obituary:
      Leon J. Taber, Retired Machine Worker, Dies
      Leon J. Taber, retired machinist, died at his home, 131 Woodlawn Avenue, Tuesday morning. Although Mr. Taber had been in poor health for some time, death came suddenly from a heart condition.

      Born in Hastings, N.Y., Mr. Taber had resided in Auburn 30 years and before coming to this city had for a time lived in Port Byron. He was a member of Hardenburgh Lodge, 748, I.O.O.F. and St. Peter's Episcopal Church. For 35 years Mr. Taber was employed by McIntosh & Seymour firm and American Locomotive Company in this city.

      Mr. Taber is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Gifford Taber; six sons, Howard K. Taber of Auburn; Clifford T. Taber of Schenectady, Raymond and Clophas A. Taber of Auburn; Corp. Harrison H. Taber of the United States Army in Germany and Corp. Daniel E. Taber of the United States Army in Japan. Also six daughters, Mrs. Elmer Titus of Auburn, Mrs. Elmer Clark of Cayuga, also Mrs. Francis Chtison, Miss Betty Taber, Mrs. Daisy Taber, and Miss Bess A. Taber, all of Auburn; two brothers, Sylvenus Taber of Ohio and Lawrence Taber of Michigan; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Thompson of Utica, Mrs. Florence Foye of Putnam Bay, Ohio; and Mrs. Sadie Perkins of Auburn; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

      Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 131 Woodlawn Avenue, at the convenience of the family. Rev. Albert A. Chambers, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Throop.
