- Funeral Services for Robert F. Bice Sr. 83, of Ogdensburg and formerly of Pulaski, NY will be held on Monday March 3rd, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. at
the Knapp Station Community Church in Norwood with Pastor Lee Sweeney officiating.
visitation will be held from 10 A.M. until the time of the service, with burial being held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Canton.
Mr. Bice passed away February 29, 2008 at his daughters home in Massena surrounded by his family and under the care of hospice. Arrangements are with the Fox-McLellan Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.
Mr. Bice was born on April 24, 1924 in Ogdensburg, NY, a son of the late Harry and Cleo (Burger) Bice. He attended Ogdensburg Schools and married the late Ester Eileen Richer in in Depeyster, NY in 1950. He made his career and home in Pulaski, NY owning and operating Robert Bice Salvage, an automotive scrap metal business for almost 60 years.
He was a self-made hardworking man who enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and bowling.
He is survived by his sons; Robert Bice Jr. and his wife Nancy of Pulaski, Carl Bice and his wife June of Altmar, NY, Albert Bice and his wife Wendy of Richland, NY, Terry Bice of Williamstown, NY, Timothy Bice of Florida, Micky Bice and his wife Cindy of Lacona, NY, Thomas Bice of Pennsylvania and Franklin Bice of Pulaski. Also surviving are daughters Tina Degraw and her husband Ed of Parish, Joyce French and her husband Ron of Massena, Patricia Bickford and her husband Lorin of Orwell, NY, Joanne Bice of Oswego, Debbie Lance of Pulaski and Pamela Denny of Pulaski. He is also survived by his siblings Vernon Bice of Arkansas, Albert Bice of Niagara Falls, NY, Alberta Bice of North Syracuse, Patricia Mane of Athens, Ontario, Mitchell Bice of Fulton and Michael Bice of Florida, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces nephews and cousins.
He was preceded by a daughter Judy Muir, siblings Carl Bice, Etta Mane, Donald Bice and Jaunita Creighton.
Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley or the Massena VFW Post #1143.
