Marguerite H. Denny, 78, of 511 Albany Ave., retired attendant at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, died early Sunday in A. Barton Hepburn Hospital.
A funeral Mass will be said at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Philip T. Allen, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the McLellan Funeral Home.
Contributions may be made to the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph L.; a son, Joseph P., Atlanta, Ga., former mayor of Ogdensburg; a daughter, Martha E. Kirby, Apalachian; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Louis (Mary) Marse, Ogdensburg, and several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Mildred Thompson and Maude Wright, and a brother, Walter Hynes, died before her.
Born in Ogdensburg on Jan. 3, 1911, a daughter of Richard and Mary Gonyea Hynes, she was educated in the local schools.
She married Joseph L. Denny June 20, 1938, at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Edward Burns officiating.
Mrs. Denny was employed as an attendant at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center for many years, retiring in 1974.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Cathedral.
