      Taber services set Saturday
      Funeral services for Clophas A. Taber, 56, of 115 Lake Ave., who died Wednesday will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Farrell Funeral Home. A concelebrated Mass of the Resurrection will be offered in St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

      Friends may call at 84 South St. from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday. Holy Name Vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

      Mr. Taber died in St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse from burns he received March 20 when his home burned and claimed the life of his wife, Katherine Welsh Taber.

      Mr. Taber was born in Cato, the son of the late Leon J. and Lucy Thompson Taber. He attended Port Byron schools and joined Alco Engines on the completion of his education. At the time of his death he was supervisor of the heavy machine division at Alco.

      He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and was affiliated with its Holy Name Society. He was a member of Auburn Golf and Country Club and local Industrial Management Association.

      Surviving are a son, James A. Taber of Weedsport, a member of the State Police stationed at Auburn; a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Kathy) Parlin of Auburn; two grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Helen T. Titus of Yucaita, Calif., Mrs. Elmer Clark of Aurelius, Mrs. Francis Chilson, Mrs. Leonard A. Gasparro and Mrs. Anadello Cecchini of Auburn and Mrs. Alason Ryan of St. Clair Calif.; three brothers, Howard K. of Auburn, Harry H. of Syracuse and Daniel E. Taber of Owasco, former chief of the Owasco Fire Dept.; nieces and nephews.
