    • Newspaper Obituary - May 1, 2011 State - Columbia, South Carolina - Robert Paul Madill Jr. - COLUMBIA - Robert Paul Madill, Jr. passed away on February 23, 2011 in Sciez, France. Born in Fulton, New York, he was the son of the late Robert Paul Madill, Sr. and Mary Porter Madill. In his youth Robert loved to fish, play football, run track, and admire sports cars. As an adult, he was a competitive runner, cyclist, and tri-athlete, completing the Iron Man Triathlon in Hawaii twice. Robert graduated from Le-Moyne College in Syracuse, New York and received a Masters of Arts Degree from the University of South Carolina. A successful businessman, Robert worked for PMS in Columbia, South Carolina, and later for IBM and Computer Services while living in Atlanta, Georgia, Princeton , New Jersey and Austin, Texas. He traveled extensively all over the world but considered Columbia his home. While in Columbia, he loved to cook, drive his sports cars, visit Edisto Beach and spend time with his pets and with fellow members of the Shandon Social Club, of which he was a member for 30 years. He is survived by a sister, Susan (Tony) Spain of Columbia, Tennessee; two uncles, Ken (Carol) Porter of Kodak, Tennessee and George Porter of Adirondack, New York; special friend, Claudia Fortuin of Sciez, France and his beloved pets, Luka, Graemme, and kitties. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
