Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, August 22, 1911 Oswego Daily Palladium - Oswego, New York - John E. Sharp Dies Suddenly - Pulaski, August 22 - The sudden death of John E. Sharp occurred yesterday at the home of his sister, Mrs. George H. Haggerty. Mr. Sharp, who was about sixty-six years old, had been in feeble health some time. For nearly forty years Mr. Sharp had been in the employ of the United Express Company at Toledo, filling many positions. He resigned his position last January and came to Pulaski. He was born in this town and was unmarried. Besides the sister named, he leaves three brothers, William H. Sharp, Pulaski; Walter A. Sharp and Edwin A. Sharp, Toledo. The funeral will be held from the house tomorrow at 2 p.m.
Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, August 23, 1911 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Monday morning, at about three o'clock, John E. Sharp, who has been an invalid for about a year with heart trouble and heart disease passed away almost without warning, at the home of his sister, Mrs. George Haggerty, of Jefferson street. Mr. Haggerty was heard breathing heavily and his sister went to his bedside but death had about finished its destructive work. Coroner Hollis was called and on investigation gave his verdict that death came from heart trouble. Mr. Sharp was born in this town sixty-five years ago. He lived here the early part of his life and learned the express business when a young man and followed the same for thirty-four years. He had been in Toledo, Ohio, many years in an express office. He leaves three brothers, W. H., of this town; Edwin A. and Walter A. of St. Louis, and one sister, Mrs. G. H. Haggerty. Funeral services will be held at the home of his sister, today, at two o'clock. Burial in Riverside Cemetery on Rome Street.
