Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, July 9, 1931 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Mexico, July 9 - Miss Myrtle Tessa Barclay, 17, died in Orwell Wednesday morning following an illness of a year_ She was born in Mexico, September 10, 1913, daughter of Sanford and Arlie Smith Barclay who resided in the northeastern part of the town. Miss Barclay is survived by her mother, Mrs. Fred Harmes, and step father, Fred Harmes; one brother, Sanford Barclay of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mrs. Elroy Hainies and Miss Dorothy Barclay of Mexico; one half sister, Fredia May Harmes of Mexico; three step brothers, Harold Harmes of Caladonia and Elroy C. and Myron Harmes of Mexico; six step sisters, Mrs. Ross Nichols, Mexico; Mrs. Raymond Hardie, Elmira; and Misses Mira, Ruth, Velma and Pauline Harmes of Mexico. Miss Barclay was a member of the Fernwood Methodist Episcopal church. Funeral services will be conducted at the home of her parents on the Tubbs road Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. A. Day Rich, pastor of the Fernwood Methodist Episcopal church officiating. Intenuent will be in Willis cemetery. The bearers will be school friends, Thomas Clohosey, Richard Valley, Lawrence Alder, Owen and Lawrence Hager, and Glenn Neval.
