HOYT - Joyce E. Cheek, 64, of Hoyt, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at her home.
Joyce was born July 25, 1939 at Whiting, the daughter of Dan and Grace Weber Monson.
She married Larry L. Cheek on August 10, 1957 in Holton. He survives.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Hisle.
Other survivors include three sons; Larry C. Cheek, Auburn, and Danny Cheek and Donnie Cheek, both of Hoyt; two daughters, Lana Dillner, Hoyt, and Jan Stephenson, Topeka; seven brothers, Kenneth Monson, in California, Virgil Monson, Lancaster, Danny Monson and Dale Monson, both of Horton, Curtis Monson, Robinson, Stanley Monson, Larkinburg, and Jack Monson, Wolcotte, New York, one sister, Judy Cooper, Horton, seven granchildren and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt with Rev. Tom Fraunfelter officiating. Burial will follow in the Upper Wolf Cemetery southeast of Robinson. Joyce will lie in state until service time at the funeral home where family and friends will meet from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Memorials are suggested to the Joyce E. Cheek Memorial Fund, to be designated later, and sent in care of the funeral home, 100 Apache Drive, 66440.
