Military Service World War Enlisted March 15, 1943 in the United States Army; Honorably discharged December 13, 1945 with rank of TEC-4. Son of Samuel Charles and Lena Belle Clark Obleman. Husband of Louise Fern Runion Obleman. Married June 18, 1940.

      Newspaper Obituary - February 26, 2000 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - William J. Obleman Retired Banker ¬William J. Obleman, 79, of 203 East Patricia Lane, North Syracuse, formerly of Pulaski, died Thursday at Pontiac Nursing Home, Oswego. Mr. Obleman was employed by Lincoln Bank from 1941 until retiring in August 1982 as assistant vice president of Chase Lincoln Federal Bank. He lived in Pulaski until moving to North Syracuse in 1952 and spent summers at Noble Shores, Redfield. He was a member and past commander of Robert Edwards American Legion Post 358 and a member of the Noble Shores Association and Redfield Sno-Rec Club. He was a volunteer for the Salvation Army, March of Dimes, American Red Cross and Syracuse War Memorial Committee. Born April 17, 1920, in Richland, son of Samuel and Lena Clark Obleman, he graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1938 and Stonier School of Banking at Rutgers State University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. He served in the Army during World War IL He married Louise Runion on June 18, 1940, at Pulaski Baptist Church with the Rev. Albert E. Lawrence officiating. She died December 15, 1998. Surviving are a son, Michael R., Pulaski, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son, William J., died June 13, 1992. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home with the Revs. Elizabeth Mowry and John Hogan officiating. Spring burial with full military honors will be in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Robert Edwards American Legion Post 358, County Route 2, Pulaski, New York 13142.
