- Newspaper Obituary - Friday, November 16, 1990 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Bertha VanBuren, Richland, Dies at Age 76 ¬Bertha VanBuren, 76, Wright Avenue, died Wednesday in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 7385 Park Street, Pulaski, with the Rev. Virgil H. Hager officiating. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m today at the funeral home. Surviving are a daughter, Marion L. Chapel, Pulaski; a brother, Allen Lester, Orwell; a foster daughter, Molly Bailey, Pulaski; seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A son, Charles E., died in 1971, and a sister, Viola Dingman, died in 1977. Born January 4, 1914, in Ellisburg, daughter of Earl and Alice Caster Lester, she married Raymond VanBuren in 1942. He died November 18, 1987, at the age of 77. She lived many years in the Richland-Altmar area and was a domestic worker in the Pulaski area. Mrs. VanBuren was a member of the Richland Methodist Church and a 26-year member of the Northern Bluejays Motorcycle Club of Sandy Creek. She also was a member of the auxiliary of the Richland Fire Department
