- Newspaper Obituary - September 24, 1959 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Harold Montondo Dies Suddenly At Home On Scenic - Harold B. Montondo, 58, died suddenly Wednesday morning, September 23, 1959 at his home on the Scenic highway in the town of Ellisburg. He had been in poor health due to a heart condition, and had spent several weeks during the past year int he hospital following a heart attack. He had recovered sufficiently to resume only a very little of the work about the farm. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. from the Foster funeral home, Pulaski, Rev. W. Russell Clark, pastor, Park Methodist church, Pulaski, officiating. Burial will be in Will cemetery, near Pulaski. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Iva Hilton Montondo; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Byrns, Richland, a stepson, William Johnson, Phoenix, and four grandchildren. He was born on Feb. 4, 1901, in the town of Albion, a son of William and Florence Spencer Montondo. He received his education at Pulaski. He worked for the William Wilder Lumber company, the Pulaski Lumber company and the G.L.F. For the past nine years he has operated his farm on the Scenic highway.
Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 24, 1959 The Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - Harold B. Montondo, 58, died suddenly Wednesday at his home on the Scenic Highway in the Town of Ellisburg. Born in the Town of Albion, Mr. Montondo had spent most of his life in the Pulaski vicinity. He worked most of his life for the William Wilder Lumber Company which was later taken over by the Pulaski Lumber Company. At one time he worked for the G.L.F. feed store. The past nine years he has operated a farm on the Scenic Highway. Surviving are his wife Mrs. Iva Hilton Montondo; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Byrns of Richland; a step-son, William Johnson of Phoenix, and four grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral Home in Pulaski. The Rev. W. Russell Clark, pastor of Park Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Willis Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
