      Vernon A. Muir, 65, Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of Altmar, died Thursday at Oswego Hospital.

      Mr. Muir lived in Williamstown and Altmar before moving to Vero Beach. He worked for 20 years for Lindsey Citrus Management, Fort Pierce, Fla., and previously for the Williamstown and Altmar highway departments.

      Born Sept. 9, 1934, in Altmar, he was a son of Glenn and Alice Trumble Muir.

      He married Marie Sweatland on May 17, 1964.

      Surviving besides his wife are six daughters, Gloria Piatt, Adams, Bonnie Schryver, Ellisburg, Elizabeth Kloster, Croghan, Tina Nolde and Sarah Muir, both of Vero Beach, and Patricia Laptripp, Orange, Calif.; four sons, Tom, Crystal, Miss., and Timothy, Robbie and Ernest, all of Vero Beach; two sisters, Thelma Hastings, Williamstown, and Beulah Steinfeld, Pulaski; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

      A son, Kenneth, died before him.

      The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Burial arrangements are incomplete.
