    • Paulette M. Whaley Obituary
With hearts full of cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Paulette Mae Whaley, age 68, who passed away at home on Sunday, surrounded by her loving family. A vibrant, compassionate, and adventurous soul, Paulette embraced life with open arms, bringing joy and warmth to everyone who knew her.

Born on November 1, 1956, to Raymond and Rosa Jeanette Tucker Otto, Paulette grew up with a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and adventure. She graduated from Mexico High School and also earned her cosmetology license in 1974. Over the years, she poured her energy and kindness into many roles-serving the community as a dedicated U.S. Postal Service employee for over 30 years, a self-employed hairdresser, a Realtor with Connie Nolan, and a supportive Weight Watchers leader who helped countless people achieve their health goals. Her entrepreneurial spirit also led her to own and operate Touch O’ the West Trailriding in the 1990s, where she shared her lifelong love of horses with others.

Paulette’s passions were as boundless as her heart. She was a proud member of the Victoria Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #205 and the NRA. An avid equestrian, she was a longtime member of the American Quarter Horse Association, earning recognition for logging over 1,000 hours in the saddle-where she was truly in her element. Whether exploring trails at Otter Creek on horseback, traveling to new places, or soaking up precious moments with loved ones fishing at her lake house on Black Lake, Paulette embraced every adventure with enthusiasm and gratitude.

Above all, Paulette’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving children, Donette (Alan) Griffith of Whitney Point and Matthew (Sarah) Whaley of Bernhards Bay; her devoted companion, Richie Bowman of Oswego; and her five beloved grandchildren, Landon, Logan, and Leah Griffith, and Matthew II and Tristan Whaley, who brought endless pride and happiness to her life. She also leaves behind her siblings, Eddie (Linda) Allen, Danny Allen, and Sandra (Mate) Knopp, along with many cherished friends. Paulette’s love extended even to her four-legged “children” Gabriel, Handsome, Diva, Jewels, Billy the Kid, and Daisy Mae, who were always by her side.

Paulette’s laughter, kindness, and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Though she has left this earthly trail, her journey continues in the memories and love she shared so freely.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 5th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski. A celebration of Paulette’s life will be held at 4 p.m., following the calling hours at Sandy Creek United Wesleyan Church and Community Center, 6224 North Main Street, Sandy Creek NY 13145 where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable woman who made the world brighter with her presence.

Ride free, Paulette-your spirit will forever be with us.
