    • Newspaper Obituary - Friday, May 1, 1970 Utica Daily Press - Utica, New York - Mrs. Amos Murtha - Pulaski - Mrs. Loretta R. Murtha, 79, of 7383 Lake St., Pulaski, died yesterday in Upstate Medical Center Syracuse, after a long illness. She was born in Utica, daughter of William and Rose Corr Shannon. She attended Utica Schools and was a buyer of clothing for J. P. Wells Department Store, Utica. In 1911 she was married to Amos Murtha. They moved to Pulaski in 1931. Mr. Murtha died in 1936. Mrs. Murtha was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Pulaski, its Altar and Rosary Society; the Duplicate Bridge Club, the Tuesday Club and the Civic Club. She leaves a son, Francis Murtha of Katonah; five daughters, Mrs John (Rosemary) Donovan of Oswego, Mrs. (Helen) Fitzgibbons of Troy, Mrs. Merritt (Ann) Switzer of Pulaski, Mrs. John (Agnes) King of Potsdam and Mrs. John (Roberta) Anderson of Mexico, N.Y. and a sister, Mrs Edward (Gertrude) Hinge of Utica. Funeral will be at 9 Monday from the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home, Pulaski, and at 9:30 from St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Rome.
