- Newspaper Obituary - Mar. 16, 2014 Syracuse Post Standard - Kenneth W. Hicks, age 88, resident of Pulaski since 1956, passed away Thursday at St. Luke's Nursing Home in Oswego. Kenneth was born August 17, 1925, in Fayetteville, the son of Fred and Wava Chapman Hicks. Kenneth graduated from Fayetteville High School. He served in the United States Navy in WWII from 1941 until 1945. He married Shirley Tuttle on February 1, 1946, and she passed away November 11, 2004. Kenneth was employed by Pulaski Central School for 20 years, retiring in 1985 as a maintenance supervisor. He owned and operated Midway Cabins in Pulaski, and he also operated a TV repair shop. Kenneth was a 20-year member of NOCA, the Giddeons and the Pulaski American Legion Robert Edwards Post #358. Surviving are two sons, Randy (Kim) Hicks of Georgia, Robert (Tracy) Hicks of Pulaski; two daughters, Brenda (Gilbert) Worfel of Bridgeport and Shari (Irving) Thurston of Pulaski; two sisters, Beverly Travers of Eastwood and Nancy DiGiulio of Syracuse; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Kenneth was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela Crawford, who passed away in 2009. Funeral Services will be held 5 p.m., Sunday at the Pulaski Wesleyan Church, 4591 US Route 11, Pulaski, NY 13142 with a spring burial in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the church prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NOCA, 21 Delano Street, Pulaski, NY 13142.
