      Obituary: Carl T. "Bud" Russell, 74, of 9064 Brookfield Dr., Taberg, died on
      Friday, July 3, 2009, at Rome Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on February 23,
      1935, in Rome, to the late Earl and Berta Russell. He is a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On July 3, 1954,
      he was united in marriage to Alice Fox in St. Patrick's Church in Taberg.
      Carl worked for NYNEX for twenty-seven years, retiring in 1985. Carl was a member of the Pioneers,
      IOOB, a former President of the Taberg Fire Department, as well as a lifetime member of the North
      American Hunting Club.
      Carl had a passion for hunting, fishing, and going up to his camp in Three Mile Bay with his family.
      Surviving besides his loving wife of fifty-five years, Alice; are a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and
      George Russell, of Rome; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Lauren Russell, of Taberg; five
      grandchildren, Ashley, Jill, Richard, David, and Amy; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Carlie Fox, of
      Taberg; and several nieces and nephews. Carl was predeceased by a son, Carl T. Russell II; a brother, Bruce
      Russell; a sister, Jeannette Matterson.
      Carl's family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses of Wing 3 of Stonehedge Nursing and
      Rehabilitation Facility as well as the nurses of the ICU of Rome Memorial Hospital.
      Services: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home,
      Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, at 9:00 AM and a Mass of the Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's
      Church in Taberg where the Rev. Francis A. Wapen will officiate. Interment will take place in St. Patrick's
      Cemetery, Taberg. Family and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to
